Jane Zhang performs at the Duo Music Exchange
Chinese pop singer Jane Zhang (Zhang Liangying) performs at the Duo Music Exchange in Shibuya, Tokyo on March 29, 2009. The young star's solo debut in Japan attracted not only music fans, but also representatives of major Japanese music companies, Sohu.com reports. Known as China's Mariah Carey, 24-year-old Zhang rose to fame in 2005 after winning the third prize at the Super Girl singing contest.

Super Junior's 3rd Comeback Album was crowned 1st Place
On the afternoon of March 29, Super Junior's 3rd Comeback Album was crowned 1st Place on SBS Inkigayo with Mutizen Song Award, and took over other candidates, such as FlytotheSky and Shin Hyesung.
In his touching speech, Super Junior Leader Leeteuk teared up and said "Oh, today we didn't have high expectations!! First of all, thank you to Lee Sooman sunsaengnim, we'll always be the humble Super Junior who think before they act, and we'll work harder. Thank you to President Kim Youngmin, and Yoo Youngjin for giving us a nice song too. Kibumah, you made a promise with your hyung, right? I hope you will keep it. When you go to Cannes, call out your hyung's name. I love you. To all the fans who waited for us for so long, sincerely thank you, we'll work harder."

Big Bang members, who were spending time in boredom get into action when the siren rings. After driving in the city scene, they see a boring concert and people who are tired of hot weather. Big Bang members in blue firefighter uniform, give the crowd cool breeze of snow and passionate performance.
Crowds enjoy and feedback positively to the arrival of Big Bang and their concert. The scene where Big Bang members spray snow out of the hose and give an awesome performance is the highlight of this commercial. This represents Hite Beer’s goal of bringing back joy to customers. Ayumi Hamasaki’s new album “NEXT LEVEL”
Popular group Tohoshinki finally cracked the highest sales record ever since their career in Japan. Tohoshinki’s 4th album launched on March 25th, “The Secret Code” recorded first day sales 82,891 copies, and the next day on March 26th was sold 30,620 copies, thus the accumulation in 2 days straight is around 11,000 copies, placing them on the 2nd in ORICON album chart.
Tohoshinki made their highest first week sales record which is definitely their best result so far.

Will revealed that he got bruises all over his arms and legs, and he even got kicked in the face. 7th Grade Civil Servant hit the screen on the 23rd of April
At 11am on the 27th morning, upcoming spy action movie “7th Grade Civil Servant” held its media press conference, with the two leading actors Kim Ha Neul and Kang Ji Hwan attending the event.

I was working out on that day when I received several smses asking me if I knew about what happened. I laughed out loud though. They changer their soft images to more the more intense ‘real man’ concept. The fans responded by saying that the picture portrayed their charismatic side of the members.

Popular Fuji TV announcers Aya Takashima and Minako Nakano, who both appear on the morning show "Mezamashi TV," are set to make their CD debut next month. The duo will appropriately be named Early Morning.

The idea of having the "3 Editors Project" article was based on the 3 talented actresses' dreams of becoming journalists. Having spent seven years together now, rumors have it that Taiwan girl group S.H.E will be disbanding and going solo. Is that the so-called "seven year itch"?

Last year, the sex photo scandal which involved Gillian Chung brought utmost damage to Twins; while their competitor weakens on the scale, S.H.E became the "advantaged party".
Ella said Twins' tragedy reminded her of a down period for S.H.E in 2003. "My injury forced our group to go duo but we did not face the problem of disbanding. At that time my major concern was to recover and get back to work."
In conjunction with the theme behind their album "FM S.H.E", the three ladies took on the challenge of being a radio DJ. Their quick responses backfired on them when they responded ignorantly to a comment made by their guest Kelvin Tsai. In response to Kelvin's comment that "Twins is the most popular girl group", S.H.E said, "Are they still surviving?" The arrogant remark sparked off criticisms from Twins' fans.
Now that Gillian is resuming work and Twins may reunite soon, when S.H.E was asked again if they are now more popular than Twins, they darted the controversy by replying, "Fahrenheit is most popular!"
The trio, however, added that they are glad that Twins is getting back again after the storm. "To be together is awesome," they said.
Ella also recalled a photo which S.H.E took together with Twins when the former first entered the scene. "They (Twins) were already very popular in Hong Kong then! The three of us still looked raw and amateurish; all five of us were really young back then but we were all very happy."

Song Zu Ying Coming combination with Jay Chou
At the Spring Festival Gala this year, Song Zu Ying and Jay Chou's "Ying Lun combination" gave the audience a fresh experience. Plain homebody Tracy Chou (周采詩) turns to a fortune-teller for love advice, who tells her she’ll meet six guys sporting bangs with the last being Mr Right.
The four love stories that form L-O-V-E (愛到底) are directed by four celebrities turned first-time film directors.
With homegrown stars making cameos and guest appearances, the film is an entertaining hodgepodge of comedy and romance, glossed up with A-lister charm and a blitz of publicity. But the filmmaking delivered by some of its creators barely passes muster and hinders the wannabe blockbuster from living up to its star-studded ambitions.
Jiu Ba-dao (九把刀), also known as Giddens, a best-selling blogger, writer and cultural pundit, applies his talent in literature to filmmaking in his story about a young man’s dying wish to look after the woman he loves long after he’s gone. The narrative glides smoothly and turns from the fun, loving moments between the lovers to a more melancholy tone, though the film could use some trimming to tighten things up a bit.
Both Fan and Megan Lai (賴雅妍), who plays the girlfriend, are well cast as the young couple and turn in naturalistic performances that help make the opening scene in which the two frolic with toy lightsabers look cute.
In terms of technique, music video director Chen Yi-xian’s (陳奕先) tale about the stuntman and flight attendant is the most professional looking of the four. Pop idols Ruan and Tzeng are on top form, appearance-wise. The former has matured into a charismatic soup opera actor and young heartthrob. Chen presents his thin subject matter, lovers’ bickering and reconciliation, in images that are pleasing to look at, but which lack narrative punches.
The segment about an awkward girl’s search for Mr Right feels more like a variety show than a film. Aiming for goofy humor and exaggerated hilarity, veteran entertainer Mickey Zi-jiao Huang (黃子佼) calls on a legion of showbiz luminaries to make surprise guest appearances that raise the level of entertainment and fun. The lineup includes “godmother of television” Chang Hsiao-yen (張小燕), former idol and actor Alec Su (蘇有朋), Ken Chu (朱孝天) of F4, boy group Lollipop (棒棒堂), established actress Lu Yi-ching (陸弈靜) and Makiyo, who are possibly the hottest gas pump girls on screen to date.
But as the exaggerated humor repeats and becomes overused, the picture grows tedious and feeble toward the end.
Vincent Wen-shan Fang (方文山) is the weakest link in the quartet. His story isn’t engaging, while actors Lan and Liu struggle embarrassingly with the lead characters, which they portray as dreadfully lifeless.

Shuzo Oshimi's sci-fi manga series "Hyoryu Net Cafe" is being adapted into a television drama this spring. The show will star actor Atsushi Ito, who is well known for his starring role in "Densha Otoko."
Also known as "Drifting Net Cafe," the original manga revolves around salaryman Koichi Toki (Ito), who leads a trouble-free but unexciting life. One day he stops by an internet cafe, where he runs into his first love whom he never forgot (played by model KIKI). A sudden electrical failure traps him and the other customers in the cafe, which has become a strange universe of its own.
As the manga is still fairly new, the original story's ending has not yet been decided, so the drama will possibly depart from the comic's storyline.
The supporting cast also includes Reina Asami. TBS will air the drama on Wednesday nights at 12:29am (12:44am for the first episode). It premieres on April 15.

Although BoA is a top artist in Asia but she's a newbie in America. SM representative said she'll start off one step at a time with the basics such as talk shows and interviews.

A spokesperson from Andy’s management company said, “We heard that ‘Love Song’ is getting very popular among the kindergarten kids. Andy was really happy when he heard about this too.”
After gaining more older fans with his ‘An-sobang’ persona on MBC’s We Got Married, now with ‘Love Song’ winning the favor of children, Andy has once again expanded the age range of his fanbase.

Super Junior launch first solo concert at the Longquan Sunshine Stadium
This Saturday, South Korea-based pop band Super Junior will launch their first solo concert at the Longquan Sunshine Stadium in southwestern Chinese city of Chengdu.
Super Junior, composed of 13 good-looking guys from across Asia, appeared on the scene in 2005. They won instant fame and popularity and quickly established a strong fan base. Each member has his own special talent. Han Geng is Chinese. He emerged from a national talent show in 2001 and was signed by an entertainment company in South Korea.

The popular drama series "Gokusen"
The popular drama series "Gokusen" is getting a movie version this summer. After three highly-rated seasons, the film will be the last time that lead actress Yukie Nakama plays the role of the teacher Yankumi.
The third season of "Gokusen" aired last spring and ended with a successful 22.8% average rating. The movie takes place after the graduation of that season's third-year class, which includes students played by Yuya Takaki and Haruma Miura. The story is related to a special episode airing on March 28 that deals with a big confrontation between the third-year students and the second-year students. In the movie, the same characters are involved again, but the story is set during the following school year.
The leader of the second-year students in the drama special is played by Kis-My-Ft2 member Yuta Tamamori, who has never acted in a television drama before. He will also appear in the movie.

"Meitantei no Okite" starting in April.
Actor Shota Matsuda has just picked up his first true lead role in a television drama. Titled "Meitantei no Okite," the show is based on a "parody mystery" work by award-winning author Keigo Higashino.
The original "Meitantei no Okite" is a short mystery collection that takes a humorous approach to many of the genre's cliches. Matsuda stars as the "famous detective" Daigoro Tenkaichi, while Yu Kashii plays the female lead as a rookie cop. Yuichi Kimura has also been cast.

Wang Lee Hom concert slated for May
Get set for a "music man" experience at the Wang Lee Hom concert slated for May in Malaysia.
Fans of the four-time Golden Melody Award winner will see him perform using a custom-made Bahamut electric guitar costing US$25,700 ($39,914).
"The Bahamut is designed by Irish guitar master Alistair," said Alan Chan, managing director of show promoter Galaxy Group.
"This concert will definitely be one of the most anticipated, spectacular and remarkable music events in Malaysia this year."
The Wang Lee Hom "Music-Man" Live in Malaysia 2009 concert will be held at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil here on May 2.
Apart from just playing hit songs from his previous albums, Wang will also combine Chinese and rock music from his latest album Heartbeat.
The concert is co-presented by Boston-Hongkie F&B Restaurant Chain, and fully supported by Tourism Malaysia.
Ticket prices are RM398 ($166), RM318, RM268, RM198 RM138 (numbered seats) and RM88 (free seating).
In conjunction with Galaxy Group's 15th anniversary celebration this year, the company will reward all its loyal supporters with cash rebate scheme launched together with this concert.
With a minimum of two tickets purchased of any price categories for Wang's concert, fans will be given a RM15 voucher for Galaxy's next concert.

The Kpop diva took the Kpop zone by storm last year with her comeback 3rd album and title song ‘U-Go-Girl’.
Meanwhile, Hyori has headed for America Las Vegas on 27th February for a photoshoot and also for a short vacation. She will return to Korea on 6th march.

Still fresh off its win for Best Foreign Language Film at the Academy Awards, Yojiro Takita's "Okuribito" pulled in 320 million yen in box office revenue for the weekend of February 28 and March 1. Since its release in September of last year, this is the first time that the film has been ranked #1 at the box office.
Usually, newer movies are the ones to take the top ranking, so for a movie to take #1 five months after its release is extremely rare.
According to Shochiku, an estimated 300,000 people went to watch the film over the two weekend days. The total revenue for the film since its premiere now exceeds 3.8 billion yen.
The DVD for "Okuribito" will be released in Japan on March 18. Amuse Soft Entertainment reached their goal of orders for 100,000 copies in a month starting from the end of January. In the week after the Academy Awards, the company received orders for an additional 100,000 copies.

The Last Vampire film will open in Japan on May 29
The Japanese film distributor ASMIK Ace Entertainment reports that last month's teaser trailer for the live-action Blood: The Last Vampire film was accessed 450,000 times in two weeks on Google's YouTube service. Chris Nahon and Pathé are adapting Mamoru Oshii and Hiroyuki Kitakubo's Blood: The Last Vampire anime in this new project. South Korea's Jeon Ji-hyun (under the credited name of Gianna Jun) plays the main character Saya, a 16-year-old sword-wielding girl hunting down supernatural creatures.
The film will open in Japan on May 29 (under the title Last Blood), in the United Kingdom on June 12, and then in France on June 17. No American release plans for the movie have been officially announced yet. The Korean news website Star News reported last August that Universal Pictures acquired the domestic distribution rights, but the reported 2009 American release date is unconfirmed.

Nishikido Ryo (24) caused a minor traffic accident
A J-pop idol singer caused a minor traffic accident on the Tokyo Metropolitan Expressway on Sunday afternoon, according to police. Nishikido Ryo (24), a member of popular Johnny's Jimusho idol group NEWS, was driving his car on the highway through the center of the city when he hit another car at the tail end of a traffic jam at the Roppongi on-ramp. That car then also hit the one in front, causing minor damage. A 60-year-old woman in the middle car suffered injuries to her neck and is expected to be in the hospital for a week. Nishikido later visited her to offer his apologies. A Johnny's spokesperson said that the singer was alone in his car on his day off, and he says he was not paying attention to the road ahead at the time of the accident. The talent agency said Nishikido had been sternly reprimanded and had volunteered to give up driving for the foreseeable future, but they added it was unlikely the incident would have any impact on his showbiz career. Police are expected to file papers with the prosecutor's office.

There are plans for one of the WonderGirls member to star in the MV of the title song off group 8ight’s 3rd album.
8ight’s producer have met up with Park Ji Young lately for 8ight’s 3rd album, and Park Jin Young had recommended that one of the WonderGirls members be featured in the MV after listening to the song.
Park Jin Young said, “It has been long since I have put a song on repeat for more than 10 times. It is a song that you will not get sick of even if you listen to it for 24 hours.”
8ight’s leader Lee Hyun said, “It is our honor that Park Jin Young liks the title song of our 3rd album. And it is our dream to have WonderGirls star in our MV.”

A commemorative photo at the North Pole Point taken some female travelers in their 40s last April was released on 2nd March. What was special in this case was that the traveler being a Big Bang fan, had posed with a paper with the words ‘Big Bang Forever’ written on it.

The songs were so popular that they were either in the top 10 in various music sites or competing against SNSD’s ‘Gee’ for the number one spot, like SS501’s ‘Because I am Stupid’.
Amidst of this, it has been announced that there will be a ‘Boys Before Flower OST Vol.2’ coming out in early March. In the second volume, artists like SS501, Kara, etc will take parts in making the OST. The acoustic version of ‘Because I am Stupid’ by Kim Hyun Joong will also be included in the album and it is gaining a lot of attention.
On the other hand, because of Goo Hye Sun’s injuries, ‘Boys Over Flower’ will be cancelled on the 2nd of March. On this day, a F4 talk show will be aired, instead. Goo Hye Sun is currently getting treated at a hospital because of an accident she had on the 27th of February.

Amidst of this, it has been announced that there will be a ‘Boys Before Flower OST Vol.2’ coming out in early March. In the second volume, artists like SS501, Kara, etc will take parts in making the OST. The acoustic version of ‘Because I am Stupid’ by Kim Hyun Joong will also be included in the album and it is gaining a lot of attention.
On the other hand, because of Goo Hye Sun’s injuries, ‘Boys Over Flower’ will be cancelled on the 2nd of March. On this day, a F4 talk show will be aired, instead. Goo Hye Sun is currently getting treated at a hospital because of an accident she had on the 27th of February.

The JYP Tour 2009
Group 2PM flew to Thailand on the 25th to appear as the special performing guest for the WonderGirls‘ concert on 28th February.
Over there, the group had went on to radio and TV shows, fan meetings, album release press conferences as well as appearing as special guest for ‘9 Entertain Award’.
They held their fanmeeting on the 25th at ‘Plus Shopping Mall’ which saw huge numbers of fans showing up and they were touched at the sight of many plancards with Korean words written on it and fans have also shouted ‘Saranghaeyo’ to them.
Group 2PM have been popular in Thailand, and also member Nick Khun has also received a lot of attention on how he has been doing as a Korean singer.
After this, 2PM will return to Korea and head for America in early March to participate in ‘The JYP Tour2009’.

So Nyeo Shi Dae was on SBS ‘Star King’ aired on 28th February.
On this episode, Tiffany had revealed her Korean name ‘Hwang Mi Yeong’ on the show. The SNSD members had called Tiffany by “Mi Yeong ah~” and MC Kang Ho Dong was puzzled because he did not know about Tiffany’s Korean name.
Recently, SNSD have been appearing on several variety shows and member Sunny had also revealed her Korean name ‘Lee Soon Gyu’ on one of them. The revealing of their Korean names had raised a lot of interests amongst netizens.

Enjel " I Miss You "
Enjel, formerly known as Chae Eun Jung of CLEO, released a new digital single entitled "I Miss You" a couple of days ago.
This single consists of four tracks (2 of them are instrumentals). "I Miss You" is a slower ballad song that reminds me a lot of the older K-pop days. Actually having listening to it again the chorus kinda reminds me of Davichi's song "Water Bottle". The second song "내 앞에 (Gom Remix)" (In Front Of Me) is an old song that she had remixed by Gom. Gom is a famous producer that has worked with V.O.S, Jewelry, and Seeya.
Enjel has had a string of 6 singles since her first studio album.

A Star’s Lover from Choi Ji-woo
Choi Ji-woo’s romantic melodrama A Star’s Lover may not have performed well in Korea, but she’s heading to stronger ground to promote the drama in Japan.
She’ll appear at Tokyo’s Ebisu Garden Hall on the 12th for a preview event and talk show about the series, which will begin airing on the satellite channel WOWOW on May 1. (The channel also aired her 2007 action drama Air City, which is another drama for which she’d held a similar event, at the same venue, back in October 2007. No doubt she can expect a lot of questions about her newly revealed boyfriend, Air City co-star Lee Jin-wook.)
A Star’s Lover (which I fully intend to finish!… one of these days) ended with a bit of a whimper, buzz-wise, but this being a Choi Ji-woo drama, it was likely intended to recoup any domestic losses with overseas sales anyway, as they did well in advance in Japan months ago.
