The 2010 Miss Asia Pageant (ATV) will be held at the end of this November in Hong Kong. This year's rule is resumed to the old one in 2007, allowing Chinese in various places to participate. However, because of the hostage crisis happened earlier in Philippine, it's known the organization decided to not invite Filipino contestant to participate in this year's pageant to prevent deepen the grudge between Hong Kong and Philippine. The organization also disclosed they worried if Filipino contestant comes to HK, they would be discriminated by others and thus affecting their mood during the competition. So they decided after holding a meeting that this year they won't invite Philippine representatives to compete.
ATV's PR spokesman confirmed the news on the phone: "To prevent Filipino contestant feeling embarrassed after coming to HK, so they won't be invited to compete in this pageant. Hong Kongers are still sad about this tragedy. In order to prevent Hong Kongers feeling embarrassed, this action doesn't count as an abuse of power. We're not discriminating Filipinos. We are considering their feelings, don't want them to get hurt emotionally."

The 10th Changchun Film Festival
"The 10th Changchun Film Festival" was held last night in Changchun. Nick Cheung won "Best Actor" again with movie "The Beast Stalker." This award is shared between him and Wang Xueqi, who won with "The Assassins and Bodyguards." Kara Hui and Vicki Zhao both won "Best Actress" with movies "At the End of Daybreak" and "Mulan". "The Founding of a Republic" won "Best Chinese Story Film." Sandra Ng won "Best Supporting Actress" with movie "Echoes of Rainbow."

Gillian Chung (Ah Gil) is currently busy in Mainland filming for a new drama 大唐女巡按 and wore her Tang dynasty costume to the China International TV Expo" in Beijing. First studio release "Solar"
Big Bang member Taeyang's international album has entered the top 10 of Apple's iTunes R&B/Soul records charts in several countries.
According to the official iTunes website, Taeyang's international release, which simultaneously went on sale locally and internationally yesterday, has placed at No. 2 in Japan, No. 3 in Australia, No. 5 in Canada and No. 6 in the United States.
The new album, featuring the title track "I'll Be There," contains ten previous releases as well as two new songs and a bonus DVD with all of his music videos and behind-the-scene-footage.
Taeyang had entered the iTunes chart for the first time in July with his first full-length album "Solar," placing atop Canada's chart and third on the U.S. chart, making him the Asian artist to reach the highest ranks on the charts.

Upcoming TV series "Secret Garden"
Actors who were cast for upcoming SBS TV series "Secret Garden," including Jang Hyuk and former boy band 2PM leader Jay Park, are said to have withdrawn from the show.
According to multiple sources, actor Jang Hyuk who was set to play the male lead and actress Kim Sa-rang decided to pull out from the drama after Park's casting for the show fell through. All three are managed by major talenthouse SidusHQ.

Korea’s representative girlgroup So Nyeo Shi Dae has finally started their Japanese promotional activities with a successful debut showcase.
The girls held their debut showcase in Japan on 25th August at 2pm in Tokyo Ariake Colosseum which saw about 7000 fans turning up.
Their debut single ‘Genie’ with both the Japanese and Korean version of their hit song ‘Tell Me Your Wish’ will be released following this debut showcase. The girls showed off each of their charms through the 30-minute live performances session.
They performed 5 of their hits included ‘Oh!’, ‘Run Devil Run’, ‘Into the new world’, ‘Gee’ etc. They had the strong support from their Japanese female fans. Since most girlgroups go for the cutesy image, the girl’ sexy and charming features are well received by fans in Japan.
A SM rep also voiced that the response from the fans for the showcase is positive and overwhelming. And the girls felt encouraged to see that most of their fans are female fans in their 10s and 20s. The girls’ record label Universal Nayuta Wave revealed that about 80% of the fans who attended the showcase are female fans.

News : Sword Heroes' Fate
With Nicholas Tse, Charlene Choi and Kenny Kwan filming their Mainland series in Shandong, the day before yesterday, Cecilia followed Nicholas to Shandong, bringing along 10 containers of healthy herbs and roots to make soup. Arriving in Shandong yesterday, in the short span of half an hour, Cecilia cooked food from all over the world to reward Nicholas Tse, along with Charlene Choi and Kenny Kwan present for filming. Before starting dinner, Ah Sa uploaded a photo of the food on Weibo, including curry, pasta, soup, beef brisket, and so forth. In addition to a self-taken photo of Charlene and Cecilia, there were additional photos of Nicholas embracing his wife.
Ah Sa left a message praising: "Wah .. there's delicious food!! Sister-in-law's big meal she cooked .. only taking half an hour .. she cooked Chinese .. French .. Indian .. Italian dishes .. she really is a great wife." Yang Yoseob BEAST’s comeback
It has been revealed that Yang Yoseob, the lead vocal of BEAST, has gone through surgery to remove chronic rhinitis infections.
Due to this, the BEAST’s comeback that has been planned for the end of August has been pushed back.
Yang Yoseob has suffered from light rhinitis symptoms, but recently the situation had gotten worse that he had to go through surgery to remove the small infection in his nose. It was a hard decision because it was at a point they were preparing for the 3rd album, but because it could have affected his throat condition, the surgery couldn’t have been pushed back.
On the 24th, the management stated, “It was a simple surgery for Yang Yoseob, however since it could worry the fans we were hesistant on releasing the information about his surgery. However we couldn’t have the fans waiting especially with the comeback coming close.” They added, “We will try our best to help him get well through plenty of rest and relaxation.”
The BEAST members added, “If you wait longer, we will be able to make a comeback with even a better condition,” asking for support and cheer from the fans.
Meanwhile, BEAST members are showing off active activities in variety programs despite preparing for their next albums.

Raymond Lam attended a Metro Radio concert and towards the rumors of his arrogant attitude, always playing games during filming, late to work and several other 'violations'. He generously responded: "In the next few days, it will turn into 17 violations. This is not the first time I'm being accused by others, I will first reflect on the things I didn't do good enough. In 2008, rock band L'Arc~en~Ciel indicated that they would not be doing another live performance until 2011, to celebrate their 20th anniversary. Now, two years later, more details have finally been revealed.

Japan BigLobe Music released the results for a popularity poll on K-pop units on 17th August. During the 4 days the poll was conducted, 33,090 netizens took part. And ranked #1 on the poll is So Nyeo Shi Dae with 61.1% (20,212) of the votes. Following behind are WonderGirls with 29% (9598 votes), Super Junior with 5.2% (1717 votes), SHINee with 2.9% (944) and BEAST with 1.3% (417 votes) of the votes.
Biglobe Music said, “So Nyeo Shi Dae has earned the popularity amongst the young females in their 10s~20s. They get good reviews for their song, dance and fashion style.”

On the 19th, a represenative for CCM announced that Jiyeon will be playing a grade 2 high school student (11th grade western) in the drama "Jungle Fish 2" which debuts it's first episode on the 26th.
She plays a student in the top 3% of grades in Korea but is also very beautiful in the KBS drama aimed towards youth.
The singer Kim Jang Hun also will be part of the drama.

TVB new series "Household Army"
The day before, Kevin Cheng, Bernice Liu and Liza Wang were in Kowloon Bay shooting for TVB new series Household Army. In the series, Kevin and Bernice are a couple and is not accepted by Liza Wang who plays Kevin's mom in the series. On the day of filming, the weather was sizzling hot and the actors could not stop wiping away sweat, extremely busy.
It is Kevin and Bernice's first time collaborating with Ah Jeh. Although it was said Ah Jeh scolds at people, as the juniors Kevin and Bernice has not encountered such situation. Kevin said in a 'dai sei' tone: "Before filming started, many people asked me if I was nervous working with Ah Jeh. Actually she's just serious about work! During the filming process who got scolded by Ah Jeh? But it was all within the series! My role had a lot of yelling too!" Bernice said: "Ah Jeh taught me a lot of life principles off screen, she knows a lot of about life. Like the correct posture to sit, she can really teach you to do things properly!"
Kevin joked and said that Ah Jeh also guided Kevin on how to run his life: "Ah Jeh told me that I should focus on making money in the next 5 years, don't date, even if I wanted to date, just do those non-serious ones. But to me, how can I not date?!"

New series "Can't Buy My Love"
Moses Chan and Charmaine Sheh have rumors with each other after filming the same series, but it ended as Moses's real rumored girlfriend Bernice Liu returned from abroad. In the end Charmaine is rumored that she has to go to Mainland to work in order to cure her wound. Even new series "Can't Buy My Love" is releasing soon, she hasn't promote it online yet and won't return Hong Kong until 3 days before the premier. TBS will air "SPEC"
Erika Toda (21) and Ryo Kase (35) will co-star in a TBS drama series this fall. The show, titled "SPEC," is described as a sequel to the 1999 series "Keizoku," which starred Miki Nakatani (34) and Atsuro Watabe (42).
The full title of the new series is "Keizoku 2: SPEC ~ Keishichou Kouanbu Kouan Daigoka Mishou Jiken Tokubetsu Taisakugakari Jikenbo." Like the original series, "SPEC" will revolve around a pair of police detectives as part of a special division solving difficult cases. Toda plays the part of Touma, a woman with an IQ of 201 with a touch of sadism and an inability to "read the atmosphere" ("kuuki ga yomenai") in social situations. Her character uses little makeup, has poor posture, and is always pulling around a small suitcase with wheels. Due to a previous case, her left arm is in a sling.
Meanwhile, Kase had to shave his head for his role as Touma's partner, a fellow detective who considers her unreliable. This will be his first time in a lead role on a television series.
Other cast members include 70-year-old veteran Raita Ryu (who also appeared in "Keizoku"), Saki Fukuda (19), Yu Shirota (24), and Ryunosuke Kamiki (17). The show will be directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi, who also handled the original series.

Joey Yung's new mv
Earlier Joey Yung's record company especially invested to produce the first Hong Kong female artist 3D MV for her new song Disfigured (破相). A telecommunications company helped her shoot a whole new version, Joey does not hesitate to ruin herself, suggesting to add a blooded scar on her face. Joey explained: "This song gives off a strong pain feeling, like you need to see a scar, so one realistic painful scar is born just like that." Joey also praises the make-up artist's speed and talent, completed the scar in less than 10 minutes.
Besides having a scar on her face, Joey wants to show the permanent pain of the inner heart expressed in the song. To accomplish this, she especially put on a pale looking make-up, while the director asked Joey to use her inner heart's deepest pain expression to display the level of pain conveyed in the song. She penetrated her painful expressions vividly and won admiration from the staff. The staff praised her leaps and bounds acting. She said: "Perhaps I just finished shooting a movie recently, so I had practice. However, the key point is the song itself, already gave me the right feeling. When I was recording this song, the producer (Chan Fai Yeung) already directed me into character, so when I shot this MV, I easily got into character."

Boy band Teen Top will star on one of MTV USA's upcoming shows this coming fall, making it the first time an idol group from Korea will be featured on American television.
Teen Top's agency T.O.P Media on Tuesday said that a program called "Vice Guide to Everything," about how the boys train to become idol singers, will air on the music channel starting September.
For three months starting January, MTV USA had searched all of Asia for idols who have yet to make a debut, basing their research on how much musical talent and star quality they have, as well as reviewing the training system they would undergo.
A producer from MTV USA flew into Korea in April, shooting the process of how the boy band undergoes training in dancing, singing, a second language, miming, mannerisms and doing interviews.
"Neal, who is the lead vocalist, has the tone of a young Michael Jackson. They are fit to compete in markets overseas too because the English skills of one of their members is at the level of a native speaker," said a MTV associate who interacted directly with the boys on the show.
Teen Top, a six-member group, have backgrounds as child actors and were chosen through auditions at major theme park Lotte World.

On the upcoming Chinese Valentine's Day, a romantic ancient time comedy is about to hit movie theatres. Several days ago, the movie held a premiere in Beijing with lead actors Ah Sa and TVB's popular Raymond Lam in attendance. The day of the premiere, Ah Sa and Raymond were repeatedly asked by media whether their kiss scene in managed to attain the results of their relationship, the two of them responded with implicit recognition. While Raymond and Ah Sa kept the movie plot a secret, when asked about words of love which left the greatest impression, both of them actively stood up. But Raymond Lam expressed that all along he doesn't dare to eat strawberries because it nauseates him to see strawberry skin which resembles acne. After finding out this secret, Ah Sa more earnestly ate the next strawberry while Raymond took one bite out of a strawberry and exhaled: "Very sour." Speaking of fears, Charlene spoke of her fear of watermelons and revealed Raymond's greatest fear - being said that his eyes release "electricity." In response, Raymond laughed and explained: "This eye (right) is near-sighted, this eye (left) is far-sighted, both eyes have astigmatism. JUMP have had all their singles reach the #1 position on the Oricon Chart and have also managed to hit the number one spot with the release of their debut album JUMP NO.1 in July 2010.

" Kokoro no Ito. " special drama
Yasuko Matsuyuki (37) is set to star in a drama special on NHK titled "Kokoro no Ito." The story will once again have her playing a mother, this time with Ryunosuke Kamiki (17) cast as her son. Matsuyuki recently starred in a maternal role in the NTV drama series "Mother" this past spring.
"Kokoro no Ito" tells the story of a deaf woman (Matsuyuki) who has raised her son (Kamiki) with hopes of him becoming a top-class pianist. The Gansu mudslide has led to over 1,000 deaths, some hundreds still missing and many families losing their loved ones. For the deepest grief to the victims, yesterday the entire country of China stopped all entertainment events and functions. Many Hong Kong events were affected including Gigi Leung's autograph session, Mr. Hong Kong and Miss Asia. Many artists left their blessings and expressed their sadness to the victims on Weibo.
Yesterday Gigi Leung held an autograph session for her latest album Cat Afraid of Loneliness (怕寂寞的貓), but canceled the games. . Instead she had a 1 minute moment of silence with fans for the Gansu mudslide victims. She urged fans and citizens to donate to the Salvation Army. Gigi considered to cancel the autograph session, but there were just too many Mainland fans that made a special trip to Hong Kong to attend the autograph session, so she decided to continue with it. 2PM holding 4 concert performances
2PM will be holding 4 concert performances coming late-September for 38K fans for their encore concert.
Their concert planner representative revealed, “2PM will be holding their first encore concert in September in Seoul and Busan.” 2PM previously held 2 concert performances for ‘Don’t Stop Can’t Stop’ on 31st July and 1st August and 2 concert performances in Busan on 7th and 8th August.

UKiss member SooHyun will leave his first ever musical participation ‘Chorus Line’ amidst busy schedule in preparing for UKiss’ new album.
SooHyun was first casted for the musical in June, but he had joined later than the other cast who did their practising for the musical earlier. And even amidst his busy schedule, SooHyun had worked hard to practise for the musical. He was also busy with the preparations for UKiss’ upcoming album as well as various variety show appearances.
The first showing for the musical was on 29th July and SooHyun had received compliments from the seniors for his professionalism and good performance. However SooHyun will have to leave the musical as he had to concentrate on the new album productions as well as the group’s Asia tour schedule.
SooHyun said, “This being my first musical since I debuted, I had work very hard for it and it is shame that the efforts I put for it was not fruitful. I apologise to fans who looked forward to the musical. I will work hard and present a better show next time when given the chance again.”

Yuriko Yoshitaka's (22) next lead movie role will be in director Koji Maeda's "Konzen Tokkyuu," scheduled for release next spring. The film is a comedy about a young woman with multiple boyfriends, trying to find the right one to marry.
Yoshitaka last starred on the big screen in Yukio Ninagawa's "Snakes and Earrings" two years ago. That role, which included nude scenes, earned her multiple awards and helped establish her as a promising young actress.
"Konzen Tokkyuu" started out as an original drama for mobile service LISMO. Last September, Yoshitaka starred in four episodes, portraying the main character Chie at the age of 17. Next January, another short series will have her playing Chie at the age of 21. Then, in the movie version, Yoshitaka will play the same character at the age of 24.
In the movie, Chie is dating five different men. When she begins thinking about marriage and evaluating her relationships, she narrows the list down in search of the right man. The five boyfriends, each with different personalities, will be played by Ryo Kase (35), SAKEROCK's trombone player Kenta Hamano (29), Takaaki Enoki (54), Munetaka Aoki (30), and Takuya Yoshimura (20).

"Hanasakeru Seishonen" into an anime series
atsumi Itsuki's popular shojo manga "Hanasakeru Seishonen" is being turned into a theatrical production, set to begin next month. Originally published from 1989 to 1994, the comic tells the story of a young girl named Kajika whose father, the head of a huge conglomerate, makes her select a future husband from a group of beautiful men.
The lead character of Kajika will by played by fashion model AKIRA (22), who is also the vocalist of rock band DISACODE. New Series " Truth "
Tavia Yeung, Louise Lee, and Rico Chan attended to the costume fitting of new series "Truth" (tentative, 真相). It's Tavia's first time playing a lawyer and she feels very excited to wear real lawyer's gown. She also expressed lately she played teacher and police etc, and just missing doctor. She fulfilled many of her mom's dreams: "I'm not qualified. Even I study my whole life, I might not able to wear lawyer's gown."

Hebe Tian who only showed half her face in the preview clip of her new song, has finally revealed herself. Having recently denied all suspicions, H.I.M Music announced yesterday that Hebe, who has been in the music industry for 10 years, will indeed be releasing her solo album "To Hebe" as Tian Fu Zhen (her real name). Without her sisters to accompany her, Hebe invited many animals to star in her new MV.

New film, Single Men and Women
Johnnie To’s new film, Single Men and Women <单身男女>, has completed its scenes in Suzhou and the cast is currently filming in Hong Kong . Louis Koo Tin Lok and Daniel Wu Yiu Cho will play rivals fighting over love interest, Gao Yuan Yuan.
Portraying a talented financial manager with many girlfriends in the film, Louis introduces his subordinate, Gao Yuan Yuan, to his architect friend, Daniel Wu. Eventually, Louis realizes his feelings for Yuan Yuan and vows to win her back at all costs, even getting into a physical fight with Daniel. Since the script is still being revised, Louis said he does not know whether Yuan Yuan will choose Daniel or himself in the end.
Single Men and Women has been filming for nearly three months. Yesterday, a dozen reporters visited the set. Due to the strenuous filming schedule in China and Hong Kong , Louis has dropped twenty pounds and he almost fainted on the set yesterday. However, he still answered reporters’ questions patiently. When asked the requirements he had in selecting a partner, Louis replied, “I am a man of few words. Hopefully, she is tolerant of this aspect of my personality.”
On the first day of filming Single Men and Women, Louis and Yuan Yuan had to film their kissing scene. The Director and Assistant Director demonstrated how the scene should be executed. “I found the demonstration to be very amusing, but the Director solemnly told me to pay attention and that the kiss was not a funny scene. TVB's assistant director of external affairs, Tsang Sing Ming, clarified that there was a data miscalculation. Now they have made the correction such that the highest-rated series in the first semester is "The Mysteries of Love", and he has apologized to the series' crew. Jing Chang repackaged album [The Opposite Me]
Jing Chang (Zhang Yun Jing) has accomplished many “firsts” in her latest album [The Opposite Me]. Besides wearing a wig and putting on smoky makeup, she has now prepared a sincere dance routine for the repackaged album version. Jing even invited her colleague, Lollipop’s AoQuan, to collaborate with her. During the MV filming, the two had close interactions behind the scenes. AoQuan asked Jing for some advice on playing the guitar while Jing practiced some “break-dancing” moves with him. But when she tried to “break-dance” by using her arms and head to lift her feet in the air, Jing was off-balance and so her two legs kept on waving in the air. The crew joked that Jing was dancing in the reincarnation of “Paul the Octopus”.*

It has been announced that popular drama “Hotaru no Hikari 2“, in which Ayase Haruka stars in, and is on air now, will also be broadcasted in Taiwan starting on August 14th.
It is extremely rare that a Japanese drama be broadcasted in a foreign country when it’s still on air in Japan. According to the Taiwanese broadcasting company, the previous season of “Hotaru no Hikari” was in the best 3 of more than 60 dramas broadcasted in Taiwan during 2008.
Before the release in Taiwan, one of the cast members, Itaya Yuka, visited Taiwan and held promotions there.

Inoue's last appearance in an NHK drama was in 1999. This time, however, will be her first starring role on that network.
Set in the Nagano prefecture, "Ohisama" is said to be a biographical drama about a woman who lived through World War II, described as having a smile bright like the sun ("ohisama"). Inoue plays the woman, named Yoko Sudo, from the age of 16 before the war up to the age of 30 after the war. Producer Masayo Komatsu mentioned that the role will have Inoue becoming an elementary school teacher, then a soba shop owner, then a mother. Because the story starts during Yoko's student days, Inoue will once again be seen in a school uniform, even though she had declared last year that "Boku no Hatsukoi wo Kimi ni Sasagu" would be her last time wearing one.

Hallyu Dream Concert
The Hallyu Dream Concert hosted by Korea Entertainment Producer Association, ‘Visit Korea’ Committee and GyeongJoo; and sponsored by Ministry of Culture will take place on 12th September in GyeongJoo Citizen Stadium at 6pm.
This concert is planned in line with the 2010~2012 Visit Korea project which is a large scale cultural event for those in Korea and overseas to enjoy the drama, fashion and music which are the main elements to the Hallyu wave.
The performing artistes for this concert are confirmed to be Super Junior, 2PM, KangTa, 2AM, 2NE1, SE7en, 4Minute, BEAST, Son DamBi, KARA, After School, miss A, FT Island, Supernova, Davichi, T-ara, MBLAQ, Ukiss, ZE:A, Secret, Flower, Seo InKook etc. There are a total of 22 performing teams (102 singers). And already, there has been growing interests from audiences in Korea and overseas.
The concert will be part of the 3-day Hallyu Dream Festival with many various drama, fashion and music related events planned up. Singer MISIA new song "Life in Harmony"
Singer MISIA (32) is joining the likes of Madonna, Whitney Houston, and Celine Dion. Her new song "Life in Harmony" is being produced by famous Canadian music producer David Foster (60), and it will be included on Foster's upcoming compilation album "Love, Again," which goes on sale in Japan on September 15.
This October, Foster is embarking on an Asia tour as a musician, bringing him to Japan for the first time in 16 years. Looking to collaborate with Asian artists during the tour, he chose MISIA for her powerful voice. As a result, they worked together on the song "Life in Harmony," which was already recorded at a Los Angeles studio earlier this month. Although Foster produced the song, MISIA herself wrote the lyrics.

Arashi now has a total of nine albums which have reached the top of the weekly albums ranking, with 'Boku' being their eighth consecutive album [since 2004's Iza, Now!]. Only in its first week of release, the album has already taken the top spot in the yearly albums ranking.

Baby V.O.X perform on stage again
The original Baby V.O.X will appear on stage to perform again 6 years after their disbandment.

However it didn’t feel like Beast’s personal style, and has a scattered feeling with a combination of several different styles. As a result, we are reworking the title song, etc. to make it represent Beast’s colours, completely.”
For this album, several songs of different genres have been compiled ranging from ballads to dance tunes. In particular, it has been revealed that the title song is a song that exceeds the level of their previous hit songs, ‘Shock’, ‘Mystery’, etc and will be a song that can clearly reveal Beast’s colours. Anticipation over the song is extremely high. In addition, the ballad song, of course, has been described as a song that reflects the singing skills of the members who remain strong even in MR (music removed) videos.

30th anniversary of TVB’s
Next year will mark the 30th anniversary of TVB’s long-running music show . With TVB’s current royalty dispute with the Big 4 music companies resulting in a ban on all Big 4 artists from appearing on TVB programs, the station has decided to give up on producing the yearly gala and instead focus on putting together a special program to celebrate JSG’s 30th anniversary. The plan for the special event is to invite most of the artists who have hosted JSG for the past 30 years to appear on the show and possibly perform a song or two. TVB’s Production Manager (variety shows and music programs) Chan Ka Yeung admitted that he is currently in talks with former DJ/host and singer Ken Choi (1980s) to ‘come out of retirement’ for the event.
Chan confirmed that TVB is hoping to invite the former hosts of JSG to come together in support of the event. In addition to already having contacted Ken Choi (whose career tanked after his infamous ‘golden phrase’ during 1985’s JSG Awards angered many fans), Chan revealed that he is also talking with Money Lo and Vivian Chow. Also, Big 4 artist (and TVB’s god-son) Hacken Lee may be granted an exemption to appear on the show and recent host Amigo Chui might be given the opportunity to ‘reinstate’ his career by participating in the show.
With regard to Ken Choi -- whose odd public appearances in the past few years have made him the target of many gossip magazines – Chan admit that he is long-time friends with the singer and has already talked to him about doing the special. He revealed that Ken is indeed under a lot of pressure and is worried about possibly ‘coming out of retirement’ – he says that Ken told him: “I used to be very handsome, but now I’m an old man.” Chan Ka Yeung emphasized that having Ken on the show isn’t just a ‘gimmick’ – it can also be viewed as giving him a second chance: “To be honest, all he did wrong back then was saying ‘the wrong thing at the wrong time’. Since Leslie [Cheung] is no longer with us, isn’t it time to give Ken another chance?” (Will you have him lose weight and make himself back up before appearing on the show?) “No need. As people age, there are bound to be changes – as long as he is alert and energetic, then it’s fine. I do have high hopes for him – in addition to hosting the show, I would like to have him sing as well.”

New movie "抉宅男女"
Although "Beauty Knows No Pain" and "Mysteries of Love" are accused of plagiarism, but TVB doesn't mind and would continue this trend, copying Mainland's hit series "Dwelling Narrowness." This HK version would start filming next month and titled <抉宅男女>. Linda Chung, Joyce Tang, Ron Ng, and Michael Tse would be in various relationships. Michael Miu would pair with Sonija Kwok. Linda's character is just like "Hai Zao" in "DN," who would not hesitate to commit indecent deals in order to climb up to the ladder.
As for this new series is obviously copying "DN," producer Cheung Kong Man didn't feel there is a problem: "You need to share good things with others and promote it. New series would talk about housing problems. It's the same in Shanghai and Hong Kong, housing is a problem residents are facing. It's also a way for viewers to vent their emotions."

Andy Hui flied to Malaysia last week for BIG FOUR concert. Vic Chou attend premiere event for his latest movie
Yesterday, Vic Chou attended the premiere event for his latest movie Love You 10000 Years, along with co-star Kato Yuki and Director Kitamura Toyoharu. Mr. Hong Kong 2010
TVB is coming around the corner. Yesterday a group of Hong Kong men from the Love Parents & Family Association and the Equal Justice Society filed complaints. The group of men said that during the swimwear part of the show, the female judges can touch hands and feet and the fact that it's all-women judges, it is discriminating against men. The Broadcast Authority (BA) received 86 complaints since 2007, but the complaints are handled by the editorial from the organization independently, the BA cannot regulate it. So the complaints have to be passed on to TVB and the responsible organization to handle.

Singer Park JaeBum will work with actress Sung Yuri.
The 2 will appear for Brave Brother’s 1st album ‘The Classic’ title song ‘I want to cry’ MV. It is said that the 2 will play lovers in the MV. A MV teaser was also released on 6th August. In the MV teaser, Park JaeBum’s voice was featured while Sung Yuri was seen drenched in the rain.

Park JaeBum is also featured in the song for the rap. The responses from netizen after the MV was released are also very positive.

Popular anime series "K-On!!"
The popular anime series "K-On!!" had its new opening and ending theme songs released as singles this week. Respectively titled "Utauyo!! MIRACLE" and "NO, Thank You!," the two songs were also released as chaku-uta downloads, and Recochoku's daily ranking for August 4 (announced on August 5) shows that they have taken the #1 and #2 spots.
This is the first time ever that an anime character band has held the top 2 spots on Recochoku's daily "chaku-uta full" ranking. In addition, "K-On!!"-related downloads took the top 4 spots on the "chakushin voice" (voice ringtone) ranking and the top 3 spots on the "kisekae" (visual theme) ranking.
Currently, the two theme songs are also #1 and #2 on the daily charts of the iTunes Store.

Miho Kanno star in a new drama
Miho Kanno (32) is set to star in a new drama series this fall on Fuji TV. The currently untitled show will have Kanno playing her first "wicked woman" role since "Koi no Kiseki" in 1999. It is being described as a mystery with some element of romance, and Hiroshi Tamaki (30) has been cast as the male lead.
Kanno plays the part of Meiko Nogami, a woman with a beautiful and kind heart. But 13 years ago, when she was 19 years old, her older sister's husband and son were killed, and Meiko was falsely charged with the crime. She is released from prison 12 years later, and she resumes life as a pet groomer, but inside she is burning for revenge. As she searches out the truth behind the original murders, she leads the men around her to their destruction and death.

Hebe releasing her individual album
S.H.E's Hebe is finally "flying solo" releasing her individual album which has been in production for two years, however H.I.M are trying to be mysterious. Online, there has been a 30 second preview clip circulating, which doesn't reveal the girl's eyes, nor is there a name attached to this clip, but as soon as fans heard it, they knew who that unique singing voice belonged it.
This clip called "A girl who loves singing, a song about love" has been circulating online. Its simple shots show a girl with long flowing hair, but doesn't show her face yet her graceful vocals have attracted lots of attention. New album "Boku no Miteiru Fuukei"
Boy band Arashi released a new album on Wednesday, titled "Boku no Miteiru Fuukei." In its first day of sales, fans bought 275,000 copies, setting a new personal record for the group. Last year, their "All the BEST! 1999-2009" collection set their previous record with 261,000 copies in its first day. That album went on to sell 753,000 copies within the first week, so many are hoping to see "Boku no Miteiru Fuukei" break that record as well.

2PM held their first concert ‘Don’t stop can’t stop’ on 31st July and 1 August at the Seoul Olympic Stadium. A few days after the concert performances, criticisms against the concert had appeared amongst the netizens and fans.
During their performance of ‘Tired Of Waiting’, the 2PM members were seen dancing intimately with female backdancers rest in sexy costumes. Apart from the sexy dance moments with the female back dancers, there was also dance moves which imitates a kiss scene. The concert age rating was set at 8 years old and above.

The movie is set in New York and is a dance movie directed by Duane Adler, who also did movies like ‘Step Up’ and ‘Save The Last Dance’. It is known that while he was writing the movie scenario, Duane Adler had already written with BoA in mind as one of the cast to the movie.

He's worried that the audience have too deep of an impression of Guai Lun Mei and Alice Tzeng, so with a newcomer it will give the movie a different feeling. And about other details of the movie, Jay Chou has been unwilling to reveal any information.

2010 Wu Fa Wu Tian Shanghai Concert
This Saturday, Taiwanese singer Show Lo will be holding his "2010 Wu Fa Wu Tian Shanghai Concert" at the Shanghai Hong Kou Soccer Stadium. As reporters have it, besides actively doing physical training in Taipei to prep for the concert, Show Lo is also conferencing with May Day, his guests for the upcoming Shanghai concert. A popular artist working with a popular band will surely tear up Hong Kou Soccer Stadium on Saturday night, only bringing the excitement to its most climactic peak.

But unthinkably, he called them and the leading vocal Ashin immediately agreed to it. However, due to May Day's packed touring schedule, so as to not interfere with their performances, Show Lo only chose to discuss concert details with May Day over the phone and email. After a few days of sending emails back and forth, the two parties finally came to the agreement of performing May Day's classic "Leaving the Earth's Surface." And as support to their bro Show Lo, May Day will be rearranging it to a version that has never been performed before. Aside from that, May Day will also be singing a song "Zhi Zu (Enough)." After May Day's concert ended in Taichung on 07/24, they had their first rehearsal together. Show also expressed that he hopes that with the addition of May Day, his concert would bring Shanghai a dazzling spectacular on a summer night.

Agency SM Entertainment explained in a press release on Monday that sub-group members Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung, performed in front of some 10,000 fans at the “SUPER JUNIOR K.R.Y. SPECIAL CONCERT IN JAPAN 2010″ concert, held at Tokyo’s International Forum in Japan on Sunday,
The concert, held at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., attracted fans in Japan as well as those from Korea, China and other Asian countries.
This was the first solo and overseas concert by Super Junior’s four sub-units — Super Junior-K.R.Y, Super Junior-T, Super Junior-M and Super Junior-Happy. The trio of Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung are known for being the ballad unit.
Super Junior-K.R.Y performed a total of 20 songs which included original soundtrack numbers “Dreaming Hero”, “Stop Walking By”, Super Junior track “Let’s Not Run Into Each Other” as well as solo tracks “I Listen…To You”, “It Has To Be You” and “Spring Day.”
The singers also prepared several J-pop performances for the local fans; Kyuhyun sang “Infection” by Onitsuka Chiriro and “Hitomio Tojite” by Hirai Ken while Ryewook and Yesung performed “Mikazuki” by Ayaka and “Unmei No Hito” by EXILE, respectively.
Fellow Super Junior members Donghae and Sungmin also showed up at the concert as special musical guests and performed “Kurumi” by Japanese band Mr. Children as well as “What If” and “Mirror.”

New single “Utourusanu”
Rock group ORANGE RANGE will be holding a nationwide tour in November.
This announcement comes soon after they created their own independent label for the release of their new single “Utourusanu.” The single will only have a limited release and rental distribution, but the tour will be quite extensive. Last year they did joint live house and hall tours, so this time they are likely to go to venues of all different sizes around Japan.

This announcement comes soon after they created their own independent label for the release of their new single “Utourusanu.” The single will only have a limited release and rental distribution, but the tour will be quite extensive. Last year they did joint live house and hall tours, so this time they are likely to go to venues of all different sizes around Japan.

67th Venice Film Festival
Director Tsui Hark will carry the expectations of all Chinese film-makers for the upcoming 67th Venice Film Festival.
Out of the 23 films, Tsui Hark's Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame was the only Chinese film nominated for awards.
Other films in the running includes Tran Anh Hun's Norwegian Wood, Sofia Coppola's Somewhere and also Black Swan, directed by Darren Aronofsky who won the coveted Golden Lion award two years ago.
The cast of Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame: Andy Lau, Li Bingbing and Carina Lau, were exhilarated at the news as they will now be in the running for Best Actor and Best Actress awards.
Andy felt that the movie was representative of Tsui Hark's style and the nomination bears testament to everyone's efforts in the film.
Since this is the first time Andy has received a nomination at the festival, the star revealed that he will be attending the event to walk the red carpet.
Li Bingbing was also excited to be able to return to the Venice Film Awards again after 10 years.
"Ten years ago, Zhang Yuan won Best Director for his movie Seventeen Years which I acted in; now I'm presented with a chance to step on the red carpet again. I guess you can say this is my 10-year-pact with Venice."

Koichi Domoto finished “Endless SHOCK” season
The minute Koichi Domoto (31) finished his season of “Endless SHOCK” on Saturday night, he was rushed into a press conference to talk about his upcoming album and national tour, reports Sankei Sports.
Apart from commenting about the news that “Endless SHOCK” would go global, it had been announced the singer would release his first solo album in four years, titled “BPM”, which will be released on September 1. On top of this, Domoto will also embark on a solo tour around nine cities in Japan from September 11, performing 25 concerts.
Koichi had said he would be ready to face his new challenge on Monday, only after recovering from his 100th stage show.
“I’m really busy this year. But it makes me happy.
“But I think I’ll be sleeping all day tomorrow,” he said.

Yao Yao release upcoming album soon
Otaku goddess and pop singer Yao Yao (real name: Guo Shu Yao) will soon release her upcoming album titled "Guo Shu Yao's First Self-Titled Album Honey", and work on latest album involved a star-studded lineup including Yao Yao's idol Jay Chou, whom agreed to pen an emotional song for her. In response to Jay's offering, the model/singer cried out, "Unbelievable!" With feelings similar to that of having a dream come true, Yao Yao replied, "I didn't think that on the first day of being a 20-year old that marks the end of my youth, that I would at last be given the best gift in becoming an adult."
