~*~ PART ONE ~*~!



“hey! What’s happening? No stop it!” Two big bois were beating up poor Ji Won. He was only 7 at the time and had a bad household at home. His mom started to drink a lot because of her break up with her boyfriend again. And when she was drunk, she’ll put out all her anger on him.

“Ow!!” Ji Won cried sobbing. “Please stop.”

“ha! You stupid lil kid. Thanks for the money. Hope you starve to death at lunch today.” Jase and Minwoo said laughing. Minwoo kicked Ji Won one last time and walked away with Jase. Ji Won laid there on the floor, for what felt like half an hour, still painfully hurt from all the kicks.

“hey… are you… okay?” he heard a girl’s voice appear. But he didn’t want to be embarrassed. He got up stumbling and ran off.

“Hmm… weird. I ask if he’s okay… then he ran off..”

“Raina! Come lets go.” Her mom screamed out to her. “what are you doing there anywaies? Your gonna be late for school.” Raina turned away from the direction the lil boy ran. Hmm… maybe he fell or something. He looked dirty. Raina thought while she simply walked towards her mom. She stepped into the car and drove off.



About ten minutes later…



“okay Raina. I know this is a new thing for you. But don’t be scared. Everyone is probably really nice too. Take care of your lil brother ok?” her mother talked looking at herself in the mirror. She was making sure her make up was okay, even though she was only going to work.

“C’mon jay.” She opened the car door to the new school she was transferred to. It was much bigger than the schools in japan. But she couldn’t do nothing cept’ to accept the fact that they weren’t in japan anymore. They were in Korea… she and jay stepped on the playground and her mom drove off.

“I hate this place.” Mumbled jay. “I miss japan. And papa. And I especially miss Ryu.”

“I know… me too. People here seems so… far from us.”

“yea of course they are… because we’re not FULL korea. Only part.”

“don’t say that jay…”

“I don’t care! It’s true!” she saw tears bubbling up in jay’s eyes.

“C’mon don’t. just… just c’mon.” jay didn’t utter a word but she knew exactly what he was thinking. She knew they couldn’t go visit their papa any longer. Or see the lights in Tokyo no more. Also they couldn’t see Ryu’s grave no more. Ryu…Ryu… she thought to herself. Her elder brother commited suicide… he couldn’t live in the world their parents did. He couldn’t handle it when papa would beat up their mom. And when mom would come home late at night knowing what she had done with those other guys. And he knew he couldn’t leave Raina and Jay. But he had… and that was all that matter.



“Hey kid! I thought I taught you a lesson?! Thought you would be running home now. Why are you here.” she saw two boys shadowing a smaller boy. She stared over noisily.

“I just wanna go to school! Leave me alone Minwoo and Jase.”

“Are you ordering us?” Jase asked with an evil look in his face.

“Yea cuz if you are… you better wish you hadn’t” Minwoo stared into Ji Won’s red sore eyes.

“stop! Leave him alone!” They turned around a saw a cute lil girl. Minwoo looked at her up and down.

“and you are?”

“My name is Rai”

“We don’t care who you are. Look lil girl you look new. I don’t think you know who we are. No one messes with us in this school! NO ONE.” Jase let out in a scarey tune. She felt a tingle inside but keep on talking.

“My name’s Raina and it isn’t fair that you two just beat him up like that!”

“Oh realy? Then I’m just hoping you have the money to save him super women.” Raina reached into her pockets and took out the ten dollars her mom gave her for lunch. It was suppose to pay for the whole week. She let out a sigh and looked at jay. He looked petrified. Poor Jay. Then she simply handed the money to Jase.

“Gooood girrl” he sneered at her. Turning around to face Ji Won again he said in the coldest way he could. “you stupid kid. You’re lucky your superman came to rescue you this time.” Minwoo remained silent the whole time. Walking away trying to act tough, raina ran to Ji Won and helped him up.

“hey are you okay?”

“urh… ow… yea… thanks... I guess..”

“hmm” she answered faintly smiling. But her smiled faded away. “do… do they always do that… to you?”

“I guess… I mean I’m not the only one. But I’m included.” He looked up and saw concerned in her eyes… “Um… thanks… Raina?”

“oh yea… Raina… you?”

“Ji Won… Nam Ji Won. And um… thanks again… raina.”

Slightly smiling Raina didn’t respond. He walked away. She turned with jay heading towards to school doors. Some one touched her shoulder and said “Hey…”

She saw Ji Won. But before she could say anything, he reached over to her and kissed her. Shocked she pushed him.

“I help you from those people and you do this? I gave them my lunch money! Now I know why they call you stupid!” Tears rushed down from her eyes as grabbed jay and ran off.

“but wha… what did I do wrong?” Ji Won was confused… but he never did see her again and never would he forget her eyes. Those eyes made him feel like… like he was wanted and cared for. But it was too late to make up to her. He moved to a new city… mother had found a new boyfriend.



~*~ PART TWO ~*~

six years later…



“Ji Won! Wait for me!” Dalieghna was running to catch up to the two boys walking up ahead.

“there’s your princess.” Snickered JucJin.

“urgh… not again… yea dayday? Wassup?”

Out of breath she said panting “Oh urh… why… you didn’t… come by… to picked me up to… today? Huh Ji Won?”

“Was busy… but I wanted to tell you something anywaies… I think we should break it off.”

“Ouch” Jucjin said. He closed his eyes and made a face pretending he was struck with pain.

“Bre… Break what? Not us right?” Dayday asked finally catching her breath.

“I’m sorry… I just don’t feel right with you… I mean you are a sweet girl and everything… but…”

“But what?” tears flowed down Dayday’s cheeks. “am I not pretty enough?! I…sob…I thought you liked me all this time.”

“I do… urhs well did... I’m sorry…” dayday ran off.. he suppose she ran back home since she always did that.

“Damn… that didn’t go so well huh? Hehe.” Jucjin, his best friend, was only two inches taller than him and had as many girls as he had.

“I guess not huh… I dunno. We’ll see her tomorrow probably.”

“hehe… yea…” they walked to school and entered through the black metal gates.

“ow!” a female girl fell on the floor. Ji won didn’t recognize her and was now the most popular kid in school. So why would he care to pick her up? He and jucjin just walked past her. About 3 feet away from where he bumbed into her, she screamed out.

“hey you! You made me fall and cant even say sorry?!” they both turned around surprised. Jucjin just stood there smiling when ji won answered.

“Ehy! Watch who you talk to like that. You don’t know who I am.”

“good. And I’m not planning to either! Why would I want to know a cowardly jerk like you?” he reached out and firmly grabbed her arm. “ow!”

“I’m not no coward… but I agree.. I am a jerk.”

“Urgh!” she struggled to get out of his grip. But he was much too strong. “I aint scared of you! Tsss… I’ve already been through this before. Shit and you aint nothing compare to the other guys.”

By this comment, he got him mad. “yea? Well then they must of realize your such a ugly annoying bitch then huh?!”

“Wha what?! Get off of me! You… you coward!”

“okay I will. Gimme a kiss.”

“WHAT!?!?”

“you heard me.”

“no!” she felt pain struck her right in the nose. She fell on the floor. Sobbing she didn’t look up.

“stupid girl. Every girl in this school wished that I would kiss them and you’re here spittin in my face? Ha don’t come running to me when you want another chance.”

They continued to walk away. Sobbing she heard some one’s voice from a distance. “RAINA! RAINA! ARE YOU OKAY! OH MY GOD!” she looked up and saw dayday running upto her. “damn why would he do this… TOO YOU!? Urgh I hate him. I hate him!”

“sniff… I’m okay. You know that jerk?”

“yea… he’s the reason I called you to come to my school.”

“that idiot?!… is the one you went out with for a week!? Urgh! How can you have such bad taste in guys dayday?! I cant even look at him for one moment!”

“I know! I regret everything. Urgh I wasted my time with him and all he wanted was this girl he known from the past.”

“really? He told you that?”

“no I heard him and jucjin talking about it.”

“jucjin?…”

“yea juc, oh yea! I forgot… jucjin is his best friend or whatever. I dunno.”

“hmph. Urghs lets go to your house. I cant be around idiots like them.” A firm and likely srong hand tapped her on the shoulder.

“hey I’m sorry about my friend. He’s like that. Are you okay?”

“aint you that other jerk who just watched me get beat up by your boyfriend?!”

“WHAT! MY BOYFRIEND?! HEY GIRL I’M TRYING TO BE NICE TO YOU BECAUSE YOUR PRET…URGH BECAUSE I FEEL BAD FOR YOU AND YOU CALLING ME GAY?!”

“yea… what kind of person are you? Just stand and smile while a person gets beat up?! If I was you, I’ll at least try to stop it! Your just like every other person out there… cold hearted!!” tears started coming out of her eyes again. “why cant you be respectful and at least try… wouldn’t you want me to help you if you got beatin up… by a girl!?”

“wait wait wait! But you didn’t get beat up by a girl!”

“urghz! Just forget it!! Stay away from me and tell your stupid friend too.” She wiped her tears and turned around to start walking again.

“Ra… Raina?…”

“ugrhz.. why you keep… wait how you know my name?” she turned around surprised it was not jucjin in front of her.

“Raina… it’s you…”

“huh? Who are you?”

“You don’t remember me? I’m ji…” he cut himself off thinking about the past.



Smiling Raina didn’t respond. He walked away. She turned with jay heading towards to school doors. Some one touched her shoulder and said “Hey…”

“yea? That’s what you say after I asked you a question? Urghz you know what? I don’t care how you know my name. Just… stay away from me you coward!” surprised he didn’t react this time she just turned away with dayday.
