With Nintendo shipping 4 million Wii’s worldwide this holiday season, they might’ve underestimated demand just about everywhere, and it’s showing again in Australia where the Wii was launched today at midnight.
Crowds of 30-50 were the norm for larger stores, but the atmosphere was pretty stale, with most people too tired and expectant to have any real fun with the night. It turned out Nintendo Australia’s only official launch was held in Melbourne, the rest was awkwardly silent queues.
