Silverstar Holdings has officially closed the transaction to acquire Empire Interactive, developer of the FlatOut videogame series.
Silverstar said that over 90 percent of its shareholders approved the deal.
The acquisition of Empire has been a long time in the making. Throughout 2006, the developer had been in talks with certain unnamed suitors, with speculation indicating that Eidos parent SCi and RedOctane had previously shown interest in the company. Silverstar emerged as the final suitor in late October.
