Shawn Yue, 'The New Edison Chen'?

Shawn Yue (余文樂) wants to take over Edison Chen (陳冠希)'s role as Hong Kong's king of cool, Sing Tao Daily reported today.

Edison has been axed by many of the trendy fashion labels that he used to front, after his sex photos scandal.

The newspaper reported that Shawn has been meeting fashion executives for dinner, in moves to claim the gap left by Edison's departure.

The day before yesterday, Shawn was one of the faces that launched the Hong Kong "Hood" boutique for Japanese brand Neighborhood.

At the event, reporters asked Shawn about speculation that his rumoured ex-girlfriend and one of the women purported to appear in Edison's sex photos, Gillian Chung (鍾欣桐), was planning to break into Hollywood after her fall from grace in Hong Kong.

Shawn replied: "I have not heard about these rumours nor been in touch with Gillian."

Asked if Gillian would be suitable for Hollywood films, Shawn responded: "It is a decision up to the filmmakers. Each film role is different, so there it is quite possible that Gillian would be suitable for one of these."

Shawn added: "Last year I filmed a western film. It was very hard and I had to spend a lot of time preparing because all the dialogue was in English."
