HONG KONG —Maggie Q will star in Chinese director Tian Zhuangzhuang’s new movie “The Warrior and the Wolf,” a movie company official said Monday.
The movie will also feature Japan’s Joe Odagiri and Taiwan’s Tou Chung-hua, Grace Leung, an international marketing official at Hong Kong’s Edko Film, said.
Edko is making the movie with Singapore’s Raintree Pictures.
The Hollywood trade publication Variety has described “The Warrior and the Wolf” as “a combat epic about two warriors in ancient China.”
Maggie Q, whose full name is Maggie Quigley, made her name in the Hong Kong film industry before moving on to Hollywood projects. Her recent American credits include the fourth installment in the “Die Hard” series, “Live Free or Die Hard” and “Mission: Impossible III.”
The actress grew up in Hawaii, the daughter of a Polish-Irish American father and a Vietnamese mother.
Tian’s credits include “The Horse Thief,” “The Blue Kite,” “Springtime in a Small Town” and “The Go Master.”
