App-Building Tools - App Inventor

App Inventor ( appinventor.mit.edu )

App Inventor was originally a Google project but is now maintained by MIT. It is a tool that is currently in beta that allows people to create Android apps without touching any code. Instead “blocks” are used that represent different pieces of code. The user puts the blocks together to make their app. The App Inventor tool is very easy to use and seems to have a lot more capabilities and is a lot more capable than many of the other tools we’ve tested. Because the software is technically in beta (unfinished) you may have to wait until an MIT student has some free time to fix any issues you come across with the tools provided. App Inventor is a great tool for someone with no programming experience.
