Unreal Engine 3 to Support Digimask @ IGN.com

Digimask has officially joined the Epic Games' Integrated Partners Program for Unreal Engine 3. This is the same face mapping technology used in World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions, as well as the upcoming Rainbow 6: Vegas.

The technology allows players to take a digital photo of their face, which is then applied to their character model in the game world. IGN has seen the impressive technology in action in Rainbow 6: Vegas; head to the customisation video we've hosted to see how it works.

While the technology is now supported by the Unreal 3 engine, it doesn't necessarily mean that all Unreal 3 games will use Digimask. If they choose to use it, game developers must pay an additional fee to Digimask on top of the Unreal 3 engine license.

We'll keep you updated when we hear which of the plethora of Unreal 3-based games decide to use Digimask.
