Japanese singer Ayumi Hamasaki lost a diamond ring at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport on Monday and hopes anyone who picked it up will contact her through e-mail.
Hamasaki passed customs on Monday and was greeted by more than 100 fans, Youth Daily reported Tuesday.
She stopped to sign one autograph for a fan before she was escorted to a car by more than 20 body guards. The report said she lost the ring during this period.
Both Chinese and Japanese staff searched for the ring in the airport and the parking lot, but failed to find it. Hamasaki sent an e-mail to the newspaper Monday night in hopes that it could be found and returned.
The singer is in town for six days. She will perform at the Shanghai Grand Stage on October 18 and shoot a music video during her stay, the report said.
