As excitement grows for the first worldwide album showcase tour of TVXQ trio Xiah Junsu, Micky Yoochun and Youngwoong Jaejoong, now known as JYJ, Filipino fans want a piece of the action right here in the Philippines.
Filipino fans of TVXQ led by Cassiopeia Philippines have started a Facebook petition last Sept. 29 to convince potential promoters and even C-JeS Entertainment, JYJ’s Korean agency, to include Manila as one of the stops of the world tour.
Their aim--to gather in a week 5,000 fans that intend to attend the Manila showcase--has become a reality.
“We've been waiting for a long, long time guys and this is your chance to prove the power of International Cassies! We're negotiating with several people but we need at least 5,000 attendees to make this event happen,” the online petition said.
As of today, 5,107 fans have signed the petition with an additional 1,227 fans who said they may attend if the showcase is held here.
JYJ’s world showcase tour is aimed at promoting their first English and global album “The Beginning”, produced by top American artists Kanye West and Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, which will be launched on Oct. 12.
Also on this day, JYJ will hold their first ever showcase in Seoul, South Korea since the trio broke away from TVXQ last year after they sued SM Entertainment to void their exclusive contracts.
Tickets to the “JYJ Worldwide Showcase in Seoul” were sold out in just 15 minutes, proving JYJ’s popularity. It will be held at 6 p.m.and 9 p.m. at Hwaseong Tiger Dome of the Korea University.
The next stop will be Bangkok on Oct. 15; Singapore on Oct. 16; Kuala Lumpur on Oct. 17; Hong Kong on Oct. 24; Taipei on Oct. 30; Shanghai on Nov. 7; New York on Nov. 12; Seattle on Nov. 13; San Francisco on Nov. 14; and Los Angeles on Nov. 19.
