The first location shoot for NHK's 2011 asadora 'Ohisama' began on the 24th in Azumino, Nagano Prefecture. Adapted from a novel, the asadora stars actress Inoue Mao (23). The setting for the drama will take place in both Azumino and Matsumoto.
The story follows the lead character played by Inoue, who lives her life happily despite going through the turbulent times in the Showa period, and eventually lives through World War II. On the day of filming, she enjoys a rare moment out on her bike in the countryside, riding to school during the pre-war period.
Filming started in mid-October, while Inoue joined the cast on the 22nd. Inoue was quick to offer her thoughts. "Working with such a wonderful cast, being able to film in such great locations, everyday has been really exciting." The breaks between filming seem enjoyable as well. "Yesterday we ate soba and basashi!"
Ohisama will start March 28, from Monday to Saturday at 8:00 a.m.
