2PM’s Taecyeon cast in “Dream High”

2PM’s Taecyeon (real name, Ok Taecyeon) was cast in “Dream High” (tentative title), a drama portraying the challenges and passion of youths who dream of becoming stars.

Ok Taecyeon has been confirmed for the role of ‘Jin Gook,’ a dancing prodigy, on KBS’s “Dream High,” which is scheduled to be broadcasted next year, in January.He has already been cooperating and working with actor Kim Soo Hyun, who has been cast in the role of ‘Song Sam Dong,’ a kid from the countryside. ‘Jin Gook,’ the role that Ok Taecyeon will play, is a problem child with no affinity for school. However, when the Board Chairman of the ‘Kin Rin Performing Arts School’ sees his talent, he enters the school. Afterwards, he comes to discover his prodigious talent on his own and begins to dream of international stardom.

Ok Taecyeon, who is active as a member of the Beast Idol group, 2PM, has already made a successful acting debut on KBS2’s “Cinderella’s Sister,” having acquired passing marks for his acting. On “Cinderella’s Sister,” he displayed the genuine figure of a man who loved one sole woman with blind devotion. This time, he will play the role of a rough, defiant child who carries a passion for dance.

Ok Taecyeon, who is in the midst of acting training for the “Dream High” role of “Jin Gook,” is the same age as co-star Kim Soo Hyun. Since it is known that, for the drama, Kim Soo Hyun practiced singing and dance and Ok Taecyeon went forward in his acting and speaking practice, the expectations are mounting.

Taecyeon expressed his feelings, saying, “Preparing for this new project has me throbbing with excitement. “It’s a musical drama so I’m even more excited. Plus I’m really glad that there are, once again, lots of excellent people and seniors that I’ll be working with. I’ll endeavor, with everything I have, to do my very best so as to make a fantastic work”

Continuing from Kim Soo Hyun up to Ok Taekyeon, the casting has been settled for “Dream High,” a program that portrays the process towards adulthood of different children that attend the fine arts military academy, “Kin Rin Performing Arts School.” They each must come to terms with their backgrounds and new environments and go through endless hardships to become world-famous stars. “Dream High” is set to broadcast starting from next year, January 3rd.
