Jay Chou’s debut Hollywood film ‘The Green Hornet’ earlier held a test screening in America and scored a 93% approval rating from the audience. Sony Pictures is happy with the overwhelming response and is said to be planning a sequel. Jay Chou’s portrayal of Kato was also praised by U.S ‘Entertainment Weekly’ columnist, for being the highlight of the trailers.
Last Tuesday, Sony held a secret test screening for ‘The Green Hornet’ in Los Angeles. They didn’t reveal to the audience beforehand which film was being tested, and randomly selected spectators, in the aim to receive truthful responses. Once the film had finished screening, 93% of the audience ranked the film in the top two boxes; ‘Excellent’ and ‘Very Good’. 83% of the audience also expressed that they would definitely recommend the film to their friends.
‘The Green Hornet’ will be released in theaters in 3D on January 14, 2011.
