Last year's GMA king, WANG LI HONG (Leehom Wang), is currently busy preparing for his new album and yesterday he flew to New York to work. He will not be able to attend to June 16th's Golden Melody Awards Ceremony. Leehom, who has been invited to the ceremony every year, has confirmed that he will be in New York working instead. Adding on, ZHOU JIE LUN (Jay Chou) also cannot attend because he is busy promoting for his new film and TAO ZHE (David Tao), who is currently busy organizing his concert, does not have the time to show up. The three kings of music will not be appearing in this year's award ceremony!
Leehom has always been a favorite of the judges. Each year Leehom gains positive remarks from the judges. Leehom has said that he really wants to attend to support the ceremony since he has been going to each ceremony every year. In contrast, it has been four years since David Tao attended. According to reports, ever since David criticized the judges, he was then never invited to perform or to present the awards at the ceremony. Yesterday he finally flew to New York to complete the finishing touches of the album and confirmed that he will not be going to the Golden Melody Awards this year in June 16th.
Leehom requires satisfaction in his album and wanted his album to be release a month later, but his company has looked over the market and encourages him to have his album done by mid June so they can release it in July. Therefore after filming a commercial in Shanghai yesterday, he immediately flew to USA to complete his album. He will also be filming the new album cover over there and is planning to have some self-directed MVs.
Because of the influence of "Lust, Caution", Leehom became very into his own character role. According to rumors, his new album will incorporate many music influences from the historical period of "Lust, Caution". Leehom has expressed it many times: "Filming ["Lust, Caution"] definitely gave me a lot of inspiration."
