Joyce Cheng: I'd Never Model Underwear

Joyce Cheng (鄭欣宜) went back to work yesterday, in a catwalk show for the handbag brand Longchamp. It had been over a month since her mother, Hong Kong entertainment matriarch Lydia Sum (沈殿霞), passed away.

Lisa S, a professional model who took part, praised Joyce for having the professionalism of a supermodel.

However, Joyce said that she only gave herself a 70% mark. She added that she does not have much interest in being a model, and whether or not to take part in these shows was a decision made by her management.

She continued: "My rule is I will never model underwear."

She joked: "If I wore a bikini, I would frighten the public!"

She revealed that she is currently on a diet, but admitted that she had dumplings the night before.

When reporters asked why her boyfriend – who was spotted at the Leslie Cheung (張國榮) remembrance concert last week – was not at the show, Joyce tried to change the subject by thanking her godsister for attending.

When reporters refused to drop the topic and asked again, Joyce appeared lost for words.
