Hong Kong megastar Andy Lau launched his "Unforgettable" concert series on Monday, December 20, 2010 at the Hong Kong Coliseum, where thousands of the singer's fans gathered to celebrate his 30th anniversary in show business.
Lau's series of concerts, which go on for 20 consecutive nights, are one of the most anticipated events of this year.
After the first edition of the series, Lau took time to talk about the preparations. "I am not an idol. I am not a singer with real strength. It's a concert about physical work. I hope you can see that I have done all I can do at this age. It's an attentive and intimate concert. Actually, that's not a real challenge to me."
To help with Lau's dancing skills, late pop star Michael Jackson's choreographers, Travis Payne and Stacy Walker, were invited to train him and choreograph the opening section of the show.
Japanese fashion icon Yohji Yamamoto, whose label Lau has been a loyal fan of for decades, is in charge of the costume design.
During the show on Monday, Leon Lai was invited up as guest performer.
