Emily Bronte's classic novel "Wuthering Heights"

Emily Bronte's classic novel "Wuthering Heights" (known as "Arashigaoka" in Japan) is being performed as a stage musical next year, starring LUNA SEA vocalist Ryuichi Kawamura (40). Although there have been musical adaptations of the book before, this one will be a new adaptation written by playwright Sanae Iijima and directed by Nobuhiro Nishikawa.

Kawamura is taking on the lead role of the revenge-seeking Heathcliff, while voice actress Aya Hirano (23) and singer Natsumi Abe (29) have been double-cast as the heroine Catherine. Although Abe has plenty of experience on stage, this will be Hirano's first performance in a theatrical production.

The revealed cast so far includes Ikusaburo Yamazaki (24) as Edgar, Yuki Shoda as Isabella, Dai Iwasaki as Hindley, Keaki Mori as Nelly, and Tsunehiko Kamijo as Mr. Earnshaw.

The musical will be performed at Tokyo's Akasaka ACT Theater on July 6-24, then at Osaka's Theater Drama City on July 25-31.

December Fook Luk Sau concert

Louis Yuen, Wong Cho Lam and Johnson Lee rehearsed with the stage artists for the first time for their December Fook Luk Sau concert. Once Louis appeared, he immediately made gags saying that his real name is actually Takeshi Kaneshiro. When asked if his concert clothing are extremely sexy? He said in 'dai sei' tone: "It's no use with 'flabby', such a big boy now and I haven't been this sexy before. The costume is full of sparkly stones, even on the important parts. But don't think dirty because every part of the body is important. We'll also appear as 'win, sea, fire' for the opening." He also to the media to remember to go "bow", seriously touch wood!

During the rehearsal for the 15 minute long medley, Johnson wanted to create his own posture and went to kiss Louis. Later Louis said: "Don't have to kiss when the time comes, I will tell him to lick me. (Worried about forgetting the lyrics?) Nope because we came up with every part of the lyrics." As for the list of guest performers, they expressed that there will be Pop King and Queens, Film King and Queens candidates. They didn't want to announce the actual names on the list to "grab promotions", so they told everyone to wait until the concert.

As the concert and TVB Anniversary Awards ceremony overlaps, Wong Cho Lam said: "Then it's the best way to prove it, the ones who can't attend the award ceremony won't get any award."

Merry Go Around (東風破)

In the movie, Merry Go Around (東風破) Ella Koon plays a female druggie and later gets an incurable disease. Ella didn't deliberately lose weight to portray this drug addict and cancer patient because at the time she wanted to be more than thin than now. She's just sacrificing for acting, didn't use any cosmetic powder, but appears in her true self. She said: "I don't feel that it's a sacrifice, the director asked me to play this role, I felt that it was pretty fun, lots of room to develop and is challenging. This is a rare opportunity, basically I have never thought about the topic of appearing as my true self."

After accepting the role, Ella started worrying about controlling the role. She has watched a lot of movies relating to drug addicts and people with cancer. "When it was time to shoot, I had to grasp it for some time before I could master it well, fortunately I encountered experienced seniors Teddy Robin and Nora Miao that brought me into character."

Asked if she had been pressured into doing drugs while she was studying overseas? She said: "Yes, but I didn't get affected. My parents had never told me about the damage drugs can do to you, but I already knew since I was young that drugs are bad for you, it does harm to yourself and others. Drugs is not a responsible action, if they make fun of me saying that I'm a coward, then don't be my friend, I will not give drugs a try." She expressed that she once broke off the relations with a friend who wouldn't give up on drugs.

After completing Merry Go Around, a new insight on life was born for Ella, that death can happen at any time. This makes her cherish all the people around her and everything that she has, don't let it be difficult on herself. "Have to live in the present, be happy every day and at the same time actively face work. I haven't seen enough of the world yet, there are so many things I haven't done yet, I don't want to have any regret when I leave this world.
