Halina Tam to Get Married in September

Earlier, there were rumours that Halina Tam would be marrying Eric Tsoi (蔡強榮), who was Isabel Leung (梁佩瑚) former boyfriend and Anne Heung's ex-rumoured boyfriend, in September. But the former Miss Hong Kong continually denied such accusations.

Yesterday, under the invitation of Chef Chow, Halina was the guest on 'Starry Kitchen'. When asked if she was taking this chance to learn to cook some dishes to be a good wife, Halina denied getting married but expressed that September would definitely be a good date. This caused her to later be pestered by reporters, who made her finally admit to getting married. Halina revealed, "My parents told me not to publicise big issues, it is better to maintain a low profile. (Will you be planning to have children?) No, I want to spend my time with my husband by ourselves."

Although she getting married in September, Halina is currently on a break but will begin filming in June. After 2 months of filming, she will then get ready for the wedding. Halina commented, "I have to work or else I will feel out of fashion."

Maggie Cheung Returns to Hong Kong & Will Resume Acting

Credit: Jayne Stars

Caption: Returning secretively to Hong Kong, Maggie Cheung's face was no longer swollen. Maggie shied away from the camera and her mother tried to block the lens in a protective measure.

In 2005, both Maggie Cheung Ho Yee and Sammi Cheng Sau Man filmed TV and movie versions of "Everlasting Regret" 《長恨歌》. Coincidentally, Maggie and Sammi both became severely ill at the same time and had to stop working. Sammi recently resumed working and Maggie also returned to Hong Kong secretively. With her face no longer swollen, Maggie revealed her come-back plans.

As one of TVB's top fadans in the past, Maggie had Thyroiditis in September 2005, causing her face to become extremely swollen. Since announcing her illness, Maggie reduced the number of public appearances, but her illness lingered.

In 2006, Maggie attended an awards ceremony in Malaysia. Despite heavy make-up, it was impossible to mask her swollen face and eyes. Maggie's swollen features made others recoil in shock.

Afterwards, Maggie announced discontinuation of all work projects to focus on her recovery. To avoid intrusion from the paparazzi, Maggie left Hong Kong. However, she maintained a blog and communicated her inner thoughts with the public.

Sammi resumed working the month before. Maggie was spotted having dinner with her family at 7 PM last night at an Italian restaurant. In a protective gesture, Mrs. Cheung shielded her daughter from the cameras. But Maggie was in good spirits and accepted reporters' interviews.

Maggie revealed that she will be resuming working. Her face was no longer swollen and her body was quite thin. During her illness, Maggie often wore scarves to hide her swollness. Wearing a simple t-shirt yesterday, it was obvious that Maggie was quite satisfied with her current figure.

R=Reporter, M=Maggie

R= Hi Maggie, long time no see! When will you meet publicly with everyone?

M= Yes! I am just having dinner with my family! (Smiling throughout) It's nothing special; can you give us a little privacy?

R= How is your illness?

M= (Smiling) Tomorrow I will attend a public function. My manager requested that I answer all press questions at that time.

Actually, Maggie will be attending a function in several days. Perhaps in her anticipation of returning to work, she provided the wrong date during the interview.

Since Maggie maintained contact with TVB, perhaps she will consider collaborating with TVB as one of her first come-back projects.

Jill Vidal Reveals her Crush on Edison Chen

Jill Vidal, who was interviewed on radio earlier, was asked to describe her dream lover. When hearing this, Jill immediately began praising Edison Chen by calling him handsome and cute. But as Edison already has a girlfriend, Vincy Yeung, Jill disclosed that she will not express her likings for him.

Despite being rumoured to be dating Kelvin Kwan, Jill did not hesitate to reveal her crush on Edison. She commented, "I like Edison. He is really cute!" Jill and Edison are under the same company and because of this, Jill met Edison at a celebration party earlier. Jill said, "I know he has a girlfriend, so I won't tell him... I will not pursue him because he has a girlfriend." Jill then expressed that she does not know who his girlfriend is and does not know who she is the daughter of.

When asked if she will now be embarrassed if she sees Edison, Jill laughed and replied, "I hope he doesn't listen to this interview. I'm not sure.... I'm really nervous! (Did you have a crush on him before you bumped into him?) I thought he was cute, just like a lot of other females."

Jill then revealed that her sister, Janice, also likes Edison. As both Jill and Edison perform the same genre of music, Jill was questioned if she hopes for a chance to work with him. She answered, "We both work on R&B and Hip Hop music, so I certainly hope for a chance to work with him. But I do not know if he wants to."

Funny Ella Chen & Wu Chun at "Hana Kimi" Press Conference

Credit: Asianpopcorn

First, she rested her head on his shoulder. Then, she whispered into his ear.

The final straw: She slapped his butt.

Suggestive moves by Ella Chen, of Taiwanese girl band S.H.E.

Her target? Wu Chun (吴尊), 27, of Fahrenheit, who plays her love interest in the popular idol drama Hanazakarino Kimitachihe (花样少男少女).

The couple have been rumoured to be dating since filming together last year. They also played lovers in the series' theme song by S.H.E.

Fans have also been rooting for the singletons to hook up. But when you put their intimate exchange in context, you realise they are just buddies. There was no hint of romance as they bickered and teased each other. When asked if there are sparks between them, an impish Ella, 25, replied: 'I really like Wu Chun!' Leaning over to rest her head on his left shoulder for dramatic effect, she added: 'See, we've gone public.'

But you know she had to be joking. For they went on to dish the dirt about each other. But not before whispering into each other's ears for permission first.

Wu Chun, who hails from Brunei, revealed of his co-star: 'She wears colourful underwear and she'd lift up her shirt to show us during filming.' Ella then went on to discuss Wu Chun's choice of white undies and poked fun at how he once wore black briefs under white shorts.

'His butt is so round, but mine is so flat. I'm bo ka ceng (Hokkien for no backside) while he's dua ka ceng (big backside).' As if to demonstrate her point, Ella made Wu Chun stand next to her so that we could compare their bums.

Then, the unimaginable happened.

While photographers clicked away, Ella reached out her left hand and slapped Wu Chun's right butt cheek. He jumped in surprise, but did not protest. Both of them laughed it off.

Was Ella just playing tit for tat?

After all, Wu Chun got away with grabbing her chest in the show.

She plays a girl who cross-dresses to enter a boys' school. But he discovers her identity when he had to carry her in one scene, which took seven NGs (retakes) to complete.

He said: 'The director told me I must be bold enough to touch Ella's chest... So I deliberately (did the) NG many times.'

And how did Ella feel? 'Itchy,' she said, with embarrassment.

When Wu Chun expressed surprise, she shot back: 'Of course I felt something. Do you think I'm a block of wood? But I also felt embarrassed, so I hid in one corner after the filming.' Ella was clearly more comfortable facing the media - she has had six years of showbiz experience - while Wu Chun seemed rather bashful. Both said they worked well together. Ella was like a big sister who took care of everyone, added Wu Chun.

Any chance of romance blossoming between them?

Ella said: 'Relationships require time, but both of us are just too busy, so we leave it to the future. But if Wu Chun makes the first move, maybe.'

Turning to Wu Chun, she teased: 'So how? Do you want to woo me?'

His shy response: 'How would we know what's in the future?'

Eason Chan "Settles" With Ayumi Hamasaki

Eason Chan "Settles" With Ayumi Hamasaki

Earlier, Eason Chan openly criticized Ayumi Hamasaki for lip-syncing at her concert, but never would he have thought his words would bring such stress to Ayumi nor would they become headline news. Picutres of Ayumi getting drunk and acting out of character were taken, allegedly due to Eason's comments.

After a promotional event yesterday, Eason admits that he has a big mouth and what he says can affect many people, but he emphasizes that he did not intentionally say those words to hurt anyone. But if in fact it was his words that affected Ayumi's behavior then he is deeply embarrassed.

Reports have it that he openly criticized Ayumi to make headlines, so he can use the "fame" to debut in the Japanese music industry. Hearing this, Eason was utterly shocked. He says, "It was not intentional. If I have to use this type of news to gain fame, it would not be dignified and I'd rather not have the fame. I don't want to say things to hurt other people but if what I said did hurt others, then I must say I am deeply embarrassed. If I were to enter the Japanese industry, I would enter solely as a singer and not as headline news."

Eason was then asked whether he will publicly apologize to Ayumi, he says, "I don't have to do it publicly, I've already personally explained it to Ayumi. During my time with EEG, Avex [Ayumi's record company] helped produce my Mandarin albums so I've already personally explained to Avex's president that it was not intentional and I didn't know it would become such a big problem. But I don't know if he passed it along."

S.H.E: today i have bad luck, swallowed 8 fines

S.H.E: today i have bad luck, swallowed 8 fines

For their upcoming album "PLAY," S.H.E held a autograph session at TaiPei's K-Mall, but before the autograph session even began, S.H.E already got 8 tickets, totalling up to $9800. Because the place was too crowded and cogested which blockted traffic, the police had to monitor the rest of the function, and their billboard/backboard of the stage had to be taken down, leaving S.H.E in shock. Selina says that the most tickets shes ever gotten was 6, and Hebe cries: "So embarassing!"

Due to S.H.E's popularity, at 10am in the morning when they arrived at K-Mall, the area was already packed with fans. Because there were too many fans, it blocked traffic and created problems, resulting in S.H.E recieving 8 fines.

K-Mall is often used as a place for artists to hold functions, but if the situations dont get better, K-Mall will be off limits for any more functions in the future. In the end, S.H.E promised K-Mall to hold their autograph session on level 1 so it wont block traffic, and the function began half hour later.

S.H.E autographed and shook hands with fans, and even though there were many fans that came to support them, S.H.E said that they would finish signing every single one. In return, S.H.E gave out their photobook of when they were on vacation, which includes their personal photos. One of the most "shocking" was Ella's sexy bunny costume. Ella says that she recieved a SMS from Selina's father, thanking her for the sexy photo as it "gave him and Selina's mom a beautiful night."

Gillian Chung's Naked Pictures Was A Set-Up

Ex-employee of management company claims: 'It was ploy to boost popularity.'
Tears were shed, accusations made and lawsuits threatened. And just when the smile came back on Hong Kong pop star Gillian Chung's face, comes another shock.

It seems her ordeal of being photographed eight months ago while changing was a set-up.

A former senior management personnel from her management company, Emperor Entertainment Group, has claimed that the entire fiasco was staged to create publicity for Gillian, who is one half of Hong Kong's Cantopop duo Twins. The person was identified only as Mr. L by the Hong Kong media.

Last August, Hong Kong gossip magazine Easy Finder weekly splashed a photo of Gillian changing on its cover, with the headline 'AhGill undoes bra in rear window'.

The pictures were allegedly shot by paparazzi with a pinhole camera during a Twins concert in Genting Highlands, Malaysia.

The incident sparked a furor in the entertainment industry where celebrities rallied against paparazzi for their unethical conduct. At that time, Hong Kong Chief Executive Donald Tsang and action star Jackie Chan were among those who rallied around Gillian. Malaysia even ordered Easy Finder to be taken off the shelves.

Emperor condemned the 'immoral' photos and said it would take legal action against Easy Finder, which is published by Next Media.

The company, owned by businessman Jimmy Lai, also publishes Next magazine and Apple Daily.

Popularity Woes

Mr. L claimed that since Gillian's debut five years ago, her popularity, or lack thereof as compared to her partner Charlene Choi, has always worried the management, reported Hong Kong's Oriental Daily.

'Last year, the company wanted them to go solo. But as Gillian was unable to hold the fort on her own, it was decided that Charlene would stay with her for another year,' claimed Mr. L.

Apparently, Gillian was a victim of the manipulation and was not privy to the deal.

'She is too timid. There's no way of informing her before it was carried out. But had it been Charlene, I believe she would cooperate,' he added.

The plan was simple.

Staff from Emperor allegedly hid a pinhole camera inside the changing room at the Genting Highlands concert.

Security was tight and only staff from the company could gain access easily.

The company then allegedly bribed Easy Finder with HK$200,000 ($39,000) to print the pictures. Mr. L said the execution was almost flawless, except for one glaring detail. After the blow-up, Emperor lashed out at the magazine and media, and vowed to take action.

The only recourse Gillian had was the fact that the Hong Kong court ruled that the photos were 'indecent'. The magazine was subsequently required to be wrapped and made to display an 'Over-18 only' warning. When contacted by Malaysia's China Press, Twins' manager Ada Wong's retort came fast and furious.

'No such thing!' she exclaimed.

She questioned the veracity of the report.

'This is ridiculous and there's no such thing, so there's no need for any response,' she said. She also denied that the duo would split up.

'It's all false, so I think you don't have to bother yourself with such news,' she said.

When asked about the status of the police investigations, she said that there was no need for them to go to Malaysia to assist in investigations at the moment.

The Malaysian police is investigating Mr. L's claims.

A police spokesman said that if it is the truth, he should have contacted the police rather than the media. He added that if the police get more evidence supporting the claim, they would not rule out the possibility of sending officers to Hong Kong to investigate. They may also work with Interpol.

Here's the related article from Eastday (for those who wants to read the Chinese version):

Angie Chai: F4's new name is now "JVKV"

Angie Chai: F4's new name is now "JVKV"

IMPORTANT NOTICE: FOR YOUR READING ONLY. PLEASE DO NOT REPOST OR FORWARD TO ANY WEBSITE WITHOUT ASKING PERMISSION FROM JERRY'S KINGDOM. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION.

Angie Chai is the producer the Tourism Bureau idol drama "Fruit Tears", and is estimated to begin shooting in July. With regards to image packaging, AC said yesterday: "Everyone might not be aware that now it's important to change their name into JVKV (taken from the first letters of their English names), but these wordings won't have to change the so-called F4. Also, on the issue on who will substitute for whom, from the start, it's already known that Jerry and Vanness had previous commitments taken, and could not entirely join in the project. It's only Zaizai and Ken who would definitely be in the casting.

The changing of the all-famous F4 name might not be easy. AC explained that F4 is their role name during their Meteor Garden series. At that time, the Japanese Publisher who owned the copyrights authorized it's use. However, nowadays, the Japanese had come up with their own Meteor Garden. If this will continue, in the future it's possible that both countries will have two F4s. That is why the Japanese Publisher conveyed their wish that if another "wave" has nothing to do with the Meteor drama, they asked not to use the name F4 again. So in the Tourism Bureau's International Fan Meeting held a few days ago, the name was already changed to JVKV.

AC also said that actually, the Tourism Bureau looked for JVKV to serve as spokespersons, film an idol drama, as the 4 can undoubtedly act best However, Yan and Wu had already filled commitments by the second half of this year. She frankly said that with the drama's drawing power, its impossible to have 4 male leads for the parts. During that time, the drama "wave" role of Dao ming Shi was the heaviest, therefore, they never made the "Fruit" drama to demand 4 male leads, because there are presently two female leads, hoping to come up with two plots. Excluding Zaizai and Ken, she really once asked Mike He but finally, because of his commitments, they had to give him up.

Mike He to Replace Jerry Yan in F4?

UDN
http://www.asianfanatics.net
translations by xbunnylicious

Mike He will replace Jerry Yan as a new member of F4 and will participate in idol drama "果實的眼淚"? TVBS said, "Is that possible? Mike is in some way the "first brother" (leading figure) of our company." Chai Zhi Ping laughed regarding the F4 rumor, "Even if I were to replacement a member, I would choose Kingone Wang to replace him!"

After Jerry decided not to partipate in "果實的眼淚", rumors reported that Chai Zhi Ping planned on having Mike fill the position and turn Zai Zai in to the leader of F4. Mike's management company TVBS said after the rumors were revealed, "Mike is our company's most important leader. There were plans for him to develop in Japan and Korea. After filming Exchange Love, many requests for movies, dramas, and advertisements came in. Many of them came from overseas, so we had to politely decline Ms. Chai's offer."

After talking with his company, Mike obtained a one-month vacation. He will be leaving for Japan in May to experience the lifestyle there. He said, "After learning Japanese for so long, I want to go try the language out. I want to be able to ride the taxi by myself and stroll through the supermarkets."

During the promotions of Exchange Love, Mike was lined up with Rainie Yang and Kingone Wang. Because Mike is regarded as the leading figure, rumors had it that TVBS felt that it overshadowed the fact that Mike is the male lead.

Chai Zhi Ping said puzzled, "Is this the new rumor? I don't believe that Mike would complain about that. His adaptability is always very good." She admitted that she did try to have Mike fill the position for drama "果實的眼淚", but his schedule did not cooperate during that time. Regarding the Exchange Love promotion problem, Pan Wei Ling, the company spokesperson expressed, "Exchange Love is originally advertised as the new drama with the original cast from Devil Beside You. The leads are two male and one female!"

Hacken Lee talks about being a good husband

A little excerpt:
He feels that a true man must be felt from the bones. In his heart,
there’s no one clear definition to define a good husband. The relationship between a man and a woman is a strange one, there’s no one formula to calculate the end result.

After his trip back from America, the skinny Hacken Lee has turned into a moutstachy man. Although there were both good and bad comments towards his new image, he still told me happily “Though I did not purposely grew my hair and my beard, I just thought it was convenient, I now feel that this is the real Hacken Lee. I’m actually someone who doesn’t trim; sometimes I wonder: If I wasn’t a celebrity; I would dress like this every day. I’m not like Tony Leung. I believe that if Tony Leung is unable to become a celebrity, he will still spend money and dress safely.

Hacken, who has a manly appearance today, feels that a moustache is not the key indicator of a true man; he believes that if a man has nothing to hide, and does not hurt people unknowingly, he can be called a true man.

“A true man must be felt from the bones, of course not acting sissy is also the most basic factor!” he said seriously.

Having entered the entertainment circle till now, he has almost been to all over the world, and has also received western education when he was young. However, all of this has not altered this belief:
“The man controls the outside, the woman controls the inside” – a traditional Chinese belief. (something like the man takes care of the bigger things while the woman takes care of smaller things like the household – hianez)

“In my heart, there’s no one clear definition to define a good husband. Just like some men who like to beat their wives, and some wives who feel that they can take it. Such husbands won’t be considered bad; but I feel that once a man meets a woman that he feels is worth treasured, he will protect her no matter what, and give her all forms of care and concern, and a sense of security is most necessary…… I am considered a traditional man, if I get married in the future, I might not want my wife to be working.”

“Haha! I did not know that you were such a chauvinist!” the reporter said.

“Then you have misunderstood, because this act is not considered as chauvinistic! Actually, the relationship between a man and a woman is a strange one, there’s no one formula to calculate the end result. Just like some women who like to control others, and some who likes to be controlled. No matter what, you cannot confirm if she’s a “small woman” or a “big woman”. The problem lies with whether her other half can accept her attitude.”

Throughout the whole interview, Hacken kept stressing that there’s no right or wrong in any form of relationship. In his eyes, each person is like a different medicinal solution. Mixing one solution into another will cause different chemical reactions. Only the person who drank the solution will know exactly what has happened.

“So, the golden couple in people’s eyes separating one day is not a huge commotion. Also, 2 people who come from different parts of the world getting married shouldn’t be termed strange by others.” Hacken says honestly that he is still not 100% confident to take the role of someone’s “good husband” in real life. (hint: “good husband” refers to what hacken has said, the one who cares for the woman, gives her a sense of security……etc). However, towards his role of a father in the future, he has visions already.

“I won’t want to have a huge gap between myself and my children. If possible, avoid the age gap! That’s why I prefer to act as friends with
children. Occasional conversations are a must.”

Hacken also expressed that work, family and love has no order for him, because such issues are not related to each other at all. Being a matured man, when working he will focus on work but when he goes back home at night, he will put away all work related issues and accompany his family and children wholeheartedly. Even if important work issues crop up, he will try his best to avoid raising it up at home to prevent his family’s emotions from being affected. If the Hacken Lee who is married can accomplish all this, I’m afraid he can be termed “The greatest man”!

----------------------------------------------------------------

(wow, after having thinking all these years WHY hacken grew his hair long and also a beard, the reason was so simple: because it was convenient. I like a lot of hacken’s own opinion in this article, especially his views on relationships. The one about medicinal solution is interesting too, and also quite true. These were his views like 10 years ago…and seems like he’s really going to become “The greatest man”!!!!!!!! hehe, I wonder if this is why Emily is not working at all? I don’t think she has been working all these years lol…except as hacken’s fashion consultant. Such a loving husband. I’m into tears already!! No wonder Vivian wants to marry him, oops, I mean marry someone like hacken! This gives me idea to start a new thread at the forum: your most desired husband =P
I love hacken more after the article! And I’m loving him more =) – hianez)

(of course, hacken is the perfect husband (and daddy, later on!)!!! smile.gif emily did work as a golf teacher for a while, i think... but even without work, hacken has said before, she's very busy helping him with clothes and other matters! wow, hacken is still such a traditional guy, in terms of the way he thinks of marriage....but he's also pretty open-minded....funny combination. -kate)

Teresa Mak 3 Months Pregnant

Teresa Mak Ka Kei got married less than half a year ago, but she admitted that she is expecting a baby in October 2007!

Good friend, Anita Yuen Wing Yee was excited and went shopping for maternity and baby products with Teresa. Anita also pre-planned Teresa's post-pregnancy arrangments.

In late 2006, Teresa married lawyer, Wong Kwok Ho. The couple enjoyed several months of sweet marriage before becoming parents-to-be.

An eye witness spotted Teresa and Anita shopping for baby products in Central district yesterday. Anita was very protective of Teresa, who appeared to to have gained some weight.

Reporters called Teresa to congratulate her. Teresa admitted that she was 3 months pregnant. The couple planned for this pregnancy in advance, giving her husband much joy.

"My husband is extremely happy. Each time we see the baby on ultrasound, I feel the joy of motherhood. The baby's expected due date is in October. I don't want to reveal whether it is a boy or girl yet."

"Anita was very excited when she heard my pregnancy news. We went shopping for baby and maternity products and she even advised on post-pregnancy arrangments!"

Teresa's pregnancy motivated her to quit her smoking habit of many years. "Now I hate the smell of cigarettes!"

Due to Teresa's pregnancy, her good friend will be helping manage Teresa's lingerie store in Mongkok.

Will Teresa become a full-time housewife? "ATV is going through some management changes. My contract has not been finalized yet. I will decide after I have my baby, but I wish to continue to act!"

Originally, I wanted the prologue to be written like this:

"Sometime in the past, Raymond Lam was looked down on by the audience. Living in a mansion, driving race cars, a wealthy father. Seeing him is just seeing a spoiled brat. However, in two years recently, his spotlight was taken over by his close friends. On one hand Ron Ng has Ella Koon, Charmaine Sheh, "my favorite", and in debt; on the other hand, Bosco Wong has Myolie Wu, Fala Chan, and his ex-girlfriend that had breat implant. In comparision, "the wealthy kid" Raymond Lam is more stable. After going through what happened in the past, through all hard times, he finally "washed" himself...."

Nobody can predict the future.

This Monday, there was a article saying that Raymond played with a night club dancer when he was in Beijing filming, to say it in simple words, someone told on him. No matter if this was true or not, all of Raymond's effort in cleaning his background is all gone.
"I'll just see it as promotion for 'Heart of Greed', after all I'm a player in the series."
His words of unable to fix the problem is worse than the year where he said he didn't rely on his father. The Showbiz is a place where one is up and the other is down. Originally, Raymond is "good", but now, we only can say "pretty okay".

"Cleaning Up"

A man's weak school, is either women or money. This Monday, there was a magazine publishing an article about Raymond Lam filming in Beijing. There was a night club dancer who claims to be Raymond's girlfriend and talked about what happened in the room.

Raymond Lam took the magazine and read it without missing a word; sighing and mad.

"How is this possible! Crazy! They think I'm dumb! There's lots of paparazzi Beijing, why would I do such thing? This girl is my friend's friend, I barely even know her." Very frustrated.

"A lot of seniors had told me to watch out when we film in Mainland. We must be careful about our friends, because they want to use us. The Showbiz, if there's no ghost then there wouldn't be dead people."

Raymond Lam was originally in an excellent mood, just looking at the first picture; he was only leaning on a small piece of wood. Also, he pulled on the rope and gave the best facial expression he can. However, after he read the article that just came out, he was down.

"If I don't reply then they would say I admited it, if I did they would say I'm just denying it. I'll just let it be a promotion for 'Heart of Greed'. " Although he said it like this, but he really does care.

Just think about it, a few years about, ask yourself if you prejudiced Raymond who lives in a huge house, drives a race car, and his father is a millionaire. Nobody would believe he's taking his job seriously, and would only pay attention to his buddies. "Eh, this Ron Ng is pretty handsome, and this Bosco Wong is pretty good...."

His background is actually what "killed" him. In the recent two years, Raymond Lam filmed more and more series while his friends switch cars and switch girlfriends; after a long time, the audience will compare.

"In the past two years, I felt 'clean', because the audience would only care about my background and no matter what I do, nobody believes I put effort into it."

"This time, I'm very worried that my image in the audience's mind would be marked on."

Heavily Promoted Dramas

Raymond Lam's faster than the ones who started working the same time as he did.He entered the industry in 1998, that time he was only 19 and portrayed roles as soldiers, waiters, etc. After three years of being extras, he filmed 'A Step Into The Past'.

"Eight, around nine years ago, all the 'siu sungs' of TVB are 30 and over, there were rarely ones around my age. I was fortunate and worked with many seniors before they left."

Raymond worked with Louis Koo, Lawrence Ng, Flora Chan, Gallen Lo, etc. The audience thought he was a fresh newbie then, but now he has the protential.

"Gallen Lo left a great impression, he was one of those who always film the grand productions."

Everyone will need to look up, to film, one must film the promoted grand production. We did a small calculation with Raymond. He filmed 19 series total and most of them were 30 or 40 episodes, like 'Golden Faith', 'Bladed Heart', 'Twin of Brothers', 'The Last Breakthrough'', 'Lethal Weapons of Love nad Passion', and the 60 episodes one that was just finished, ' The Drive of Life'.

"In 'Heart of Greed', I'm only a guest star. The producer picked me for the love scenes in the series, but that took up around 30 episodes." Look, how fortunate.

If you were to say that he was fortunate, you might as well say he has the potential and elegance. Some actors who wore the yellow robes don't look like kings or princes, but Raymond does. 80% of his characters were either rich guys or professionals. His "worst" character was in 'La Femme Desperado' and he was a sales.

Speaking with Raymond about "rich guys", he looked awkward. Not wanting to be too humble, but doesn't want to show off.

In these years, he learned to be more quiet about things.

"I admit that I look better potraying those rich characters, but am I able to portray the other ones? Of course, of course! But you have to give me time to examine and obseve."

"Whatever it is, at least now I have a spot. All these years are not wasted. Do you think that we don't have pressure filming those long dramas?"

Pressure

Raymond's pressure is not having to pay bills for his house or car, but it's the most traditional problem.

"I'm not only the eldest son, but the eldest grandson and I have a lot of nieces and nephews too. There's a lot of family members in my family and they all look up to me, so I always am competitive ever since I was young, because I don't want to look bad."

Raymond's father is a famous business man, and has the name of "Xiamen Li Ka Sing", the eldest son should be the one that takes over. Raymond took a year of architecture in California before; if he didn't join the industry, he probably would be an architect.

"I thought about helping my father with his business, but being in this industry for a long period of time and just started to run things smoothly, I don't want to leave. My parents don't force me anyways, so I decided to film for a few more years."

"Even if I do help my father, I will have to learn from the beginning and it won't be easy. He has his troubles, I saw it with my own eyes, he needs more than 3 batteries for his cell phone a day."

Just like Oscar in 'Golden Faith'.

"Yes!" Raymond smiled uncomfortably.

Too many yees are looking at him; it was never like audience looking at actor or fans looking at idols.

"I get really nervous easily. Whenver I have some negative news, I won't be able to sleep and it seems like I won't tonight..."

His parents mostly live in Mainland, but they record his series.

"They would used to criticize me more, saying that I wasn't good enough. My mother would be asking why I'm working so hard. Now, they are more opened minded, and would praise me once in a while." Nothing's as excited as parents' compliments.

" A lot of artists would think about their future, like if they are not in the industry anymore, what would they do? I know that I have a road that backs me up, but I neve think about it, because thinking about it will kill me!"

"Being an artist have to face difficulties in order to have success."

However, he never told his parents that he was filming over night and brushing his teeth near the road while being looked at those office ladies and men.

"My father once said, whatever we are doing, we must learn how to be a person first, then learn to do other things. To let others know that you have the heart, you must put yourself down. Besides, I'm a regular young adult, there's not much of a background or a typical person I have or am."

Survivor

It is different. Raymond Lam who sees wealth since he was a little kid would not let money take him over after he became famous. He didn't buy new cars after buying one and seeing that we prepared a Viktor & Rolf shirt for him, he would say, "$3500? Is it worth it?"

This way, he can actually focus on his work.

"There's a lot of temptations in the Showbiz. I actually think I can stand these temptations."

Three years ago's "Olympics 6 Stars", then "New 5 Tigers", and last year's "World Cup 4"; from 6 to 5, from 5 to 4, not everyone can stay and Raymond is one of the survivors.

"TVB has four different filming areas, and one person can't film all! Now that there are some others that I can compete with, we can compare ourselves."

Being confident, will not be afraid of comparison. Knowing himself and others, Raymond understands his own strength and weakness.

"Because I entered the industry a little longer, of course I'll make a few less mistake. However, my weakness is being quiet. I really don't like showing myself in front of the audience, that's why I rarely appear on game shows."

"Super", Raymond Lam never been on it once, in 9 years, he only went on "15/16". "I was free that day, so I couldn't say no!"

To express himself, Raymond would rather sing. His 07 plan is to release an album, and he has signed EEG.

"When I was little, my hobby is to sing. When I was 7 or 8, my aunt would play the piano while I sing, and my dad would record all the songs I sang. Those old cassettes are still here today."

One summer, Raymond went to Shanghai to take singing courses for two months. Before he entered the training class, he was originally planning to be a singer. The contract was right in front of him, just that he didn't sign it.

"I think it's risky, because I knew that a music company will not give a lot of their budget to a newcomer so being an actor would be more safe."

Epilogue- So So

Raymond says, in the past, he would try to be more "normal". For example, he lived in a big house and went to school in an all boy school Saint Paul. His driver could have drive him for only 10 minutes, yet he chose to take the bus Star Ferry, and from there, transfer buses to his school with his classmates. On average, everyday he would waste an hour more on the bus rides.

"To be equal like my classmates and I don't want to be special."

Having a golden key might not be a good thing.

After entering the industry, he slowly didn't mind what others thought. "Hong Kong audience are the world's hardest group to control and know. If you film carefully, they mithg think you are over exaggerating. If you calculate too much, you often will calculate it wrong. In my experience, to want a series to be popular, you must say it's 'so-so'..."

Therefore, Raymond thinks that "Heart of Greed" is so-so. He's a lawyer, that cheats on his girlfriend. A terrible couple with YoYo Mung.

Raymond Lam's story tells readers that there's no shortcut, no winning path nor rich in the Showbiz.

Singing new single, "Mayday", S.H.E. also invited Mayday's main singer Ah Shin to act as Selina's love. The first kissing scene, both of them couldn't kiss "on target", they NGed 3 times. Only until Ella pulled Hebe and demonstrated did Ah Shin and Selina finish the scene. For this kiss scene, Selina specially went to Japan to study, and Ting Wen Chi reported that Selina who has been nicknamed "Ah Shin wife" is scared that best friend will be jealous.

After she reported to Mrs. Ren (Selena's mother), Mrs. Ren exclaimed, "Very good! Need to show all the love feelings!" Which makes Selina can't laugh and can't cry saying, "Other celebrities mothers usually protect their daughters and tell them not to be scared of kissing scene. Why my mother want me to spill my love feelings!?" Ah Shin and Selina never had private interactions, and yesterday they had to do a kiss scene - the atmosphere was a bit akward.

At first, there was the scene were Ah Shin had to carry Selina on a bicycle, Ella and Hebe were on the side joking around, causing the atmosphere to be warmer. Only until they had to film the scene with the kiss, Selina nervously started to grab drinks, keeping her breath smelling fresh. After overcoming the shyness, the director begged Selina to make the first move, causing her to yell: "I've never initiated in my life, don't make my life difficult!" There was a bit of a feeling when Selina and Ah Shin touched shoulders and held hands, but when they connected eyes, Selina finally gathered up her courage and moved foward, and the glasses-wearing Ah Shin finally counter-acted, took off his glasses, which startled Selina, and they kissed, except they missed, so they had to NG and start again. On the third try, Ella couldn't watch anymore, so she grabbed Hebe and became her own director and demonstrated how to act. Selina and Ah Shin deligiently watched, and after that, only needed one more shot to make the scene okay.

As about the feelings with lips, Selina praised: "Ah Shin has really soft lips." Ah Shin expressed that he didn't know there was a kiss scene until he got on-set, otherwise he would have tried to get into the character at home, eaten vegetarian for three days before coming to kiss.

Ron Ng Mag Interview

I=interviewer
R=Ron

I: So when you were little, you must have enjoyed acting in front of you family right?

R: (laughs) No of course not. When I was little I didn’t really enjoy acting. I was just a very, very naughty boy. I started dancing when I was 18 and I just wanted life to be more interesting and after learning how to dance, I felt that there was a lot more to life.

I: So why did you pick dancing as your career?

R: this is because my dance teacher thought I had talent and complimented that I was very hard working and could dance well. So I entered TVB acting class and tested it out and if I could keep up it wasn’t bad for a start. So I decided to test it out and I actually became quite successful.

I: (can’t see the words clearly after zooming in) But the last line goes: So why do you pick acting as well?

R: Well when I was put with a partner she asked me if I wanted to join acting, I never ever thought of following this pathway to acting but I never knew what I wanted to act for but I still liked dancing. Though I really wanted to try it out. So I went home and asked my family if I should try it out and get their opinion.

I: Did they approve?

R: Mum said that she would think about it and she questioned me asking if it would be too much pressure, and could you live life, not being too busy, and having time for other things? If you really want to go, we will support you but before you make your decision you must think of it really carefully and don’t regret. You must have a good think about this. It took me 2 months, to think about this. I know two months just thinking about this acting career, though in the end, I never regretted and went ahead with acting.

I: You mum must be very understand with kids and understand what kids want to do. Am I right?

R: My mum is really nice. She supports me in whatever I intend to do. Though before I decide anything she makes me think hard and makes sure I never regret. And makes sure I don’t stop half way and give up. MY mum says that whatever I choose to do, it is my own responsibility to continue.

I: Your mum seems really supportive so I’m guessing she really likes kids?

R: Of course she loves her children, I mean which parent wouldn’t love their kids? But I also have my sister, who always bullies me and we always have fights (laughs) Though as we grew older we didn’t do this sort of stuff anymore, we more likely became friends and if I have any problems I would always turn to her and tell her my problems. Though every week, we would always have a family day and we would sit down and have talks and chats.

I: You have a very warm family relationship, and you seem to care about each other very much.

R: My family is very important to me, and I always put them first. And if I don’t have anything on, I always like to stay at home, because I love the feeling of staying at home.

I: So when your under pressure and have a lot of work to do you would always call home to make yourself feel better?

R: You know, That any boy in the world who ran away from home, would start crying and the first thing they would do is call their mum!

(I hope this might interest you to read it as I reckon its very interesting to know about His career, I finished the first page right here! Enjoyy

I: So your mum sort of made you the Today Ron NG?

R: Yes of course, and this job needs a lot of family support. Though acting takes a really long period. It takes about 3 months or more to finish a complete series. And that means I hardly ever spend time at home. Every time I get home I mostly see my mum and reckon shes become older.

I: So what do you do at home if your there usually?

R: At home I love watching DVDs playing with my cat and dog, going for a jog, going to the fish market. I love it there as there are many nice things to buy there. Every time I get home from working, I always like to stare at the fish in my fish tank as they are very nice to watch. And as I said, that’s the beauty of staying, home and this is why I like it so much.

I: So you have 8 types of animals at your place?

R: Of course not! I only have 3 types. A dog, cat and fish. Every time I talk about my dog it makes me feel so at home. (Laughs) Yes im talking about my dog AH MO, Ah mo has become to skinny lately.

I: Is it because you have been so busy acting lately?

R: No, If im not home, usually the house maids take care of him, I don’t dare to leave him at home alone as it will stink up the place, and all his hair everywhere.

Myolie Suffers Swollen Knees to Shoot Sexy Photos

As spokesperson for a slimming company, Myolie Wu has successfully slimmed down to just 105 lbs and trashed the rumours that she was binge eating in Beijing. After slimming down, she is even more confident in herself because she has slimmed her body but not her bust, so she has achieved the figure of her dreams.

Myolie shot a set of sexy ads for her sponsors earlier and each of her looks was very alluring. Among them, the 'wild angel' and 'innocent devil' were the most daring. Myolie also complimented the looks with nearly a hundred pieces of her own jewellery and although she was kneeling until her knees were red and swollen, the beautiful outcome of her pictures made it all worth it.

When Myolie dressed as her 'innocent devil' look, she wore a super short skirt to show off her legs. For 'wild angel', she pushed herself to the limit and just wore a feather 'nu bra'. She smiles: "The nu-bra was very heavy and there was always a danger of it slipping downwards, so I was regretting it at the time. So when we started shooting and I put my hands down, the crew and I were all very nervous, so they completed the shoot in only three minutes." Also, she posed in an s-shaped curvy pose wearing an orange low cut top, showing off her great figure, beauty and femininity all at once.

Charmaine Sheh filming new series with Jordan Chan

Charmaine Sheh filming new series with Jordan Chan

Charmaine Sheh, who has just finished filming TVB's grand production of the year [Drive of Life], attended an opening ceremony for a property investment event yesterday morning in Conghua. Charmaine place high hopes on this series (Drive) and regard it as one of her representative work for this year, with a chance of being nominated Favorite Actress award*. However, whether she could really receive any award, Charmaine says it will have to depend of the response as the series was not aired yet.
*Note: Charmaine said she have confidence in getting voted, but doesn't necessary mean she will win. Basically she's expressing confidence in [Drive].

Filming in Mainland is like a vacation

Yesterday morning, as soon as the purple dressed Charmaine appeared, she attracted a lot of housewives fans who pursue her. Charmaine said to the reporter, though [Drive] filming have wrapped up in Beijing since April 18th, she was very busy over the last few days due to events/functions. She has just returned to Hong Kong from Taiwan and directly come to Conghua. "I only slept 3 hours at home". However, Charmaine said that the events she recently attended are more demanding than filming series (Drive). "Because filming in Beijing is more comfortable than Hong Kong, there's no need to film in the middle of the night. In addition, this series have a lot of different storylines, therefore when other cast are working, I can take a break. Therefore filming this series feels a little like vacation." In the middle of this 'vacation', Charmaine also took time to visit The Great Wall of China: "I came to Great Wall when I participated in MHK pageant 10 years ago. Returning the place, I have many sentiments."

After winning "Best Actress" award at TVB anniversary award last year, Charmaine have yet to have another series aired to date. When asked by reporters if she was worried not being able to defend her title, she replied: "I feel that [Drive] is able to, my storyline with partner Raymond Lam is very appealing. In addition, I will be playing a villain; the middle part is mostly about me exacting my revenge. I am also very greedy of money, only money can give me a sense of security. This portrayal brought me a lot of challenge." The reporter jokingly asked if she was greedy for money in real life, Charmaine frankly said: "Money is very important." Regarding of the report that she was TVB highest earning actress last year, she smiled and said: "I don't know whether it's true (highest earning), but if you worked hard, you will receive some reward."

Doesn't mind a younger boyfriend

After finish filming [Drive], Charmaine disclosed that she will rest for a month before filming TVB new series, [Chan Mong Kat & Fong Tong Keng]. She will be working with Michael Tse and Jordan Chan in the series, with majority of scenes with Jordan. She said that this was her first time collaborating with Jordan; she hopes they can spark chemistry. Asked if she is worried there will be rumors, she said: "I'm never worried. This kind of news doesn't appear this year, they occur every year."

In addition, recently there were rumors about her newly 'rumored boyfriend' Ron Ng with Toby Leung. The reporters jokingly asked if she have the feelings of 'getting rid of trouble' (lat laan). "This ending is very good, but I never felt that it was 'trouble', but more like a publicity ploy." Regarding her other rumored boyfriend Benny Chan currently airing series [The Change of Destiny], Charmaine frankly said she haven't watched it, moreover she is not interested in watching television series, sounding a bit callous to her rumored boyfriend. "I prefer watching movies more than television series, because I do not have the time to chase TV series plot."

Previously in an interview, it was indicated that Charmaine's future boyfriend is between five years younger than her. Therefore, when reporter teased if she will be worried that communication will be affected if she has a younger boyfriend, she replied: "If we can communicate, age doesn't matter." In addition, Charmaine frankly said that she have thought of getting married by 30 years old, but now she already exceeded that age, therefore she didn't set a date to marriage anymore. As long as she goes along with fate, and she mentioned that the criteria for her boyfriend are "Must be taller than I am, dotes on me, and doesn't need to be wealthy."

Additionally, with the recent news of former TVB General Manager Mr Ho Ding Kwan joining ATV management board, there are reports of a headhunting list by Mr Ho, including Charmaine's. When asked if Nr Ho have contacted her, Charmaine said: "I just came back and didn't contact with anyone yet. My contract with TVB still have another 3 years to go, therefore it's too early to be discussing this. Therefore, please don't believe in the rumors, you can ask me directly if you have any questions."

TVB Blog: Raymond Lam - "I Was Jilted!"

"Lately, I've been filming "The Drive of Life", and my character's name is Wah Zhen Bon, Damien Lau and Gigi Wong are my parents. After "Yummy Yummy" and "Lethal Weapons of Love and Passion", Charmaine Sheh and I are portraying as couples again; it wasn't a challenge to act with her. Earlier, I was filming a wedding scene with her, due to last generation's problems, Charmaine jilted our marriage. In the end I was very upset, and my family members were embarrassed.

In reality, if the bride doesn't want to marry me, it's not as big of a problem, but if I suddenly got married, then that's a serious thing. Because if I want to marry now, it's under a condition without preparation, ha ha ha!

Filming this series is very fun, there's a lot of actors like Charmaine Sheh, Jessica Hsuan, Joe Ma, Myolie Wu, Michael Miu, etc; we are great friends off-screen to. Later, we'll be going to Beijing to film about one more month. I'm looking forward to this series, and I wonder what would the audience think of this?"

Kids came to see us during filming time.

Bernice & Bosco on 'Minutes to Fame'

Bernice Liu and Bosco Wong were guests on the latest episode of "Minutes to Fame" and as one of the contestants had to pick up their dance partner during their routine, Bosco, Bernice and hosts Sammy Leung and Miriam Yeung joined them on the stage and Sammy and Miriam ended up quite 'attached' to each other.

One of the contestants was a man dressed in drag and he looked horrific and then he made it worse by trying to act cutesy to the judges, fluttering his eyelashes. He was quickly sent away after 40 seconds, the lowest scoring act of the evening. Sammy joked that he resembled Miriam's ex-boyfriend Ronald Cheng. However, she was very gracious and was not embarrassed by this, laughing that she was worried if viewers were disgusted by him, they might smash their televisions.

After one of the dancing acts, Sammy pulled the judges onto the stage and when he picked up Miriam, she was screaming a lot and in the end, she ended up falling on him. Asked if she was worried about losing out to Sammy, she says she did not because they just did three spins and then she was back on the ground. Asked if she will add this act to her next concert, she smiles that the sponsors may think that they are watching a folk dance instead. As for Sammy saying that the contestant looked like Ronald, she says she will not mind because she knows he was just stirring up the atmosphere.

Bosco indicates that in the past, he entered a similar competition when he was at school in Form 6. He played 'Cinderella in Drag' for a play and had to cut out some false eyelashes from some black paper and wear an orange wig. He smiles that his memory of himself dressed as a woman will be forever in his mind.

When Bernice made her appearance, she demonstrated some of her dance skills, including one manoeuvre where she hugged her own legs standing upright. When he saw this, Sammy laughed that she was 'folding herself over'.

However, thousands of fans coming from Japan and Korea had already queered up earlier and rushed to buy all sorts of F4 related goods bring sold outside the venue.

Outside the National University of Taiwan Gym was already filled with Japanese and Korean fans as early as dawn. Thousands of people began to line up under the scorching heat just for panic-buying idol goods, spending thousands of dollars from their pockets. Japanese and Korean spending strength is amazing, with 10,000 to 20,000 no hold barred. In addition, they also look at the F4 goods carefully, and at the $1,000 price tag for just a news poster, $1,000 also for the Tshirt, and even the necklace with Jerry's picture printed in the pendant plus postcards fetched at $2,000, simply too expensive, and sellers took the chance to earn high. Fans were also satisfied with what they bought.

Not only did they must first buy the idol goods, but one Japanese fan even studied Chinese lessons for Zaizai, in case she would have the chance to meet her idol face to face.

But looking at the sales trend of the products, Asia's most popular is Jerry Yan, because not only does his individual products sell the most but fans also have his pictures printed on their wallet as they take them out to pay the goods, that his charms is really fiery hot.

F4 super "money magnet" earns 100 million in
business opportunities from fan star chasers

IMPORTANT NOTICE: FOR YOUR READING ONLY. PLEASE DO NOT FORWARD OR REPOST ELSEWHERE WITHOUT ASKING PERMISSION FROM JERRY'S KINGDOM. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION.

This afternoon at 1:30 pm, will perform at the same stage. But because this event is sponsored by the Tourism Bureau, it didn't create a stir! Since as early as 7 am, thousands of Japanese, Korean, Thai and many more countries started to troop to NTU, line up and bought F4 limited edition goods. Just for these related goods alone, more than 99 Million in business opportunities will be brought in.

Thai Fan: Jerry! Hello! We are already here! Wish we can quickly see you in Taiwan.

The Japanese, Koreans and Thais are simply like "Bai Guo Lian Jun" (JK: a certain Allied Force) because F4 jointly held an open concert in the afternoon. Before 7 am, fans began to gather. Even if it is only a Jerry replica stand was outside the venue, every minute there were at least 5 fans alternately taking picture with it. Zooming in the lens, there were tousands of fans who lined up, under the scourging heat, in three huge circles.

The oldest among the group of fans who came was ASAKO, wearing a kimono, unafraid of the sunburn, and who will turn 71 this year, is also a Jerry fan.

ASAKO: "Love, love, I extremely love him. Today, I first came from San Francisco. Unluckily, these was this concert so my stay there was extended, and my coming to Taiwan was postponed. "Deary, Jerry, I love You!"

On how much F4 charms is, just looking on how fans were rushing to buy the related good, then one would immediately know. Jerry's endorsed necklace plus 2 postcards are sold at $2,800. The official Tshirt, postcard and others fetched from $300 to $1,200. If a zero is added together it will total to about 1,000 per set.

There were 10 stalls located in the venue. so right away, it will earn some 99,000,000. However, because the Tourism Bureau invited F4 to push Taiwan tourism, the fans can't personally experience the joint concert. There were Taiwan's delicious fruits on display at the 2nd floor. Just downstairs, the crazy elder mom could not get enough in watching.

Lian He Bao
1. Over 5000 fans from Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, and HK have brought over 1 billion of tourism income to TW. As there were too many people, a fan fainted at the site due to too much excitement.
When Yan Cheng Xu introduced Dan Shui, he exposed that he dated his ex-girlfriend in Dan Shui. Yan Cheng Xu held ZZ's hand on the side and pretended him as his ex-girlfriend. At the same time, ZZ played shy and put his head on Yan Cheng Xu's shoulder, and even pretended to kiss Yan Cheng Xu.

------------------------------------------------
1. However, for the opening number to show their language abilities, it seemed like their performance was not that good, like being nervous. Yan Cheng Xu indicates that he couldn't hear the sound from the ear piece that he didn't realize the host's question until after Vanness reminded him. When the 4 sang the first song First Time, it also had an embarrassing moment when Vanness' voice was lost from the microphone.

2. The Tourist Bureau indicates that F4's endorsement includes the 2nd meet session in October, 2 times of overseas promotion, and the idol drama. The commercial by the 4 members will be broadcasted in May. The fee for broadcasting the commercial in Korea will reach NT$25 millions. Also, the idol drama produced by Chai Zhi Ping is expected to be broacasted in Japan and Korea by the end of this year. So when looking at the time schedule, that idol drama should start filming immediately.

------------------------------------------------
1. In order to be afraid of not satisfying fans, each member of F4 had individual function with fans. Yan Cheng Xu had close contact with fans in KTV, and even allowed fans to touch his chest...

2. Yan Cheng Xu, whose funfests were opened to the media, was obviously more relaxed. In last night's function, he even invited his friend at school to be the host, playing silly. For allowing fans to touch his upper body, Yan Cheng Xu participated in planning personally. He said when interacting with fans, there's no limits. It was really exciting when he allowed fans to touch him here and there after their eyes were covered. For this round, Yan Cheng Xu should win the others.

3. Regarding touching, the reporter also noticed that ZZ pinched Yan Cheng Xu's butt at the meet session. When asked afterward, he laughed, "Yeah! Jerry's fans must envy me very much. I have even smelled his scent for numerous times!" Wu Jian Hao on the side even said, "Actually F4 like to touch each other off camera."

4. The organizer tried to maintain the balance, so even the seat placement was arranged in random. Regarding popularity, when having functions in Japan in the past, the most popular was almost Yan Cheng Xu all the time, and ZZ was the 2nd, but yesterday, their popularity was the same. On the other hand, Wu Jian Hao has successfully developed the Korean market that he was supported by a big group of Korean fans. In addition, as he showed his chest muscles, his performance on stage was quite eye-catching.

China Times
The meet session started at 2pm. Since early morning, Japanese and Korean fans had been waiting in front of the venue. The event was delayed for 15 minutes. Yan Cheng Xu was the first one to come out. The sakura ladies and houewives on the floor started to create a storm and their screaming was so powerful that almost like ripping off the roof. Looking inside the venue, with people packed on the floor, Yan Cheng Xu's popularity was the highest, and his fans accounted for almost majority of the audience. After they finished singing First Time, the host Tao Jing Ying tested F4's Japanese and Korean skills. Zhu, Wu, and ZZ all passed, when it was Yan Cheng Xu's turn, he got nervous easily, and had the situation again.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yan Cheng Xu had finally become relaxed. In last night's funfest, he treated his fans as friends. He didn't only ask his fans to call him 'good friend', he even asked his schoolmate at school to be the host. As there were too many fans, he needed to divide the function into 3 funfests.

ET Today
Yan Cheng Xu indicates that it is a pity that he can't play in this idol drama, but it was discussed before, and there will be chances to work together again in the future. Yan Cheng Xu confirmed not to play in the idol drama. As he is the most popular in Asia among the four, it seems like his fans will be disappointed for a long time.

Ken Watanabe Puts Heart In Latest Film

A press conference was held on Monday at Yongsan CGV theaters for Ken Watanabe, the star of the film "Memories of Tomorrow." It was his first visit to Korea.

While it's not uncommon for foreign actors to come to Korea to promote their movies, Ken's visit was impressive in two ways.

The Japanese star is also a Hollywood heavyweight, with roles in "Batman Begins," "Memoirs of a Geisha," and "Letters from Iwo Jima" and a best supporting actor Oscar nomination for his part in "The Last Samurai." And yet he personally booked his plane ticket and came to Korea on his own without a single assistant.

"I think some other actors might be a little over-protected," Ken said of his travel arranging skills. "I went to London on my own when we shot 'Batman Begins.' It's just a normal thing for a person to do, nothing about being an actor."

The second impressive feat was the way he answered some questions in Korean, despite the fact that he doesn't speak Korean. A lot of visiting actors can manage a simple "gam-sa-hap-ni-da" or "thank you", but Ken uttered full sentences as he talked about why he made the movie (he was impressed by the original novel).

"I made the movie with my heart," Ken said in Korean. "I want to deliver this heart to a precious person." The movie he claims to have "made with his heart" is a human drama about a man who loses his memories to Alzheimer's disease over the course of seven years. It's a particularly interesting choice for Ken considering his past struggle with leukemia.

The details aren't clear, but Ken is known to have stopped working for almost eight years after being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia 19 years ago. And in fact the opening scene of the movie depicts the Alzheimer's diagnosis in a doctor's office.

"I'm seldom aware of my disease, but a closed box really opened up on me while we were shooting that first scene," Ken said.

Yet even this film wasn't enough to get the actor to discuss his real-life battle with illness. "Even two hours wouldn't be enough to talk about that. I'd rather avoid the topic because it might cause some misunderstanding for people suffering the disease, or for their families."

He added, "My father had a stroke at age 42, and my mother looked after him for nearly 30 years. There were a lot of things I wasn't aware of while we were filming the movie, but I realized many of them when we finished."

Ken's connection with Korea was also the topic of conversation. Ken married Kaho Minami in December 2005. "I heard that my mother-in-law comes twice a year to visit her ancestor's grave since she is from Busan, but I came too late to join her," Ken said.

As for Korean movies, Ken spoke about "Song Kang-ho" and "Bong Joon-ho" describing them as "respectable" and "excellent."

Bobby Au Yeung Enjoys Two Wives

TVB's new series "Cold Encounters of the Third Kind" held a costume fitting ceremony yesterday as Toby Leung and Angela Tong appeared in Chinese and Western style wedding outfits. In his morning suit, Bobby Au Yeung can enjoy having two wives in this show because Angela is his wife, whilst Toby will be his mistress.

Bobby says that for the producer to arrange for him to pair with Toby, this is a great challenge for him. He smiles that maybe he will be the 'youngest' out of the whole cast. Asked if he will be pairing up with more young artistes in the future, he laughs that maybe there will be even younger ones in the future and he believes this is not a mistake by the company. When the reporters pointed out that he has the joy of both ladies, he indicates that this will be a comedy, so their relationship will be very clean and innocent. He says that he does not object to working with younger artistes. As for the earlier rumours that arose after Toby was spotted holding hands with Michael Miu, Bobby laughs: "We hold hands all the time. I hold her dad's hand with one and and her in the other as we cross the road." However, Bobby laughs that if he had children when he was 18, then his child would be Toby's age by now.

Toby indicates that in the show, she often has to wear short skirts and shorts to show off her figure and she will be fighting against Angela for Bobby's affections. Asked why she does not wear little tops, she says she will not and at most will wear a close fitting t-shirt, beucase she does not want to be embarrassed during filming and be unnatural. Asked if she will hold hands with Bobby, she smiles: "Yes, I will! Every day and even when we are eating. (Do you agree with finding romance late in life?) Age is not a problem, as long as he treats me well." Angela says that she finally has the chance to be the true wife in this show. As for the romance storyline between her and Raymond Wong in the show, she smiles: "Yummy yummy! (He is married though!) That's what makes him yummy, because I will never have him."

Raymond has recently signed an artiste contract with TVB and this will be his first series with them. He indicates that signing with TVB will be a change of working environment for him. As for the recent rumours that ATV are making big offers to attract talent, he says: "You can't compare. Money is not the most important thing and I see this as an investment. (TVB's pay is very slim!) It is okay and acceptable." As for his management contract, it is still with China Star.

Shirley Yeung: "The Future is a Blank Piece of Paper"

TVB's new series, "A Change of Destiny" starring Steven Ma Chun Wai, Shirley Yeung Si Kei, Benny Chan Ho Man, and Selena Li centers around the startling book, "Chinese Prophecy" 《推背圖》, which has been the most accurate prophecy book to predict the destiny of China over the last several hundred years.

Shirley said, "I have heard of 'Chinese Prophecy' before filming 'A Change of Destiny.' The Chinese people possessed incredible intelligence and foresight into the future to produce a book containing such accurate prophecies."

Does Shirley want to predict the future and change her own fate? "I want to know the future too. 'Chinese Prophecy' utilizes only several diagrams and characters to hint at future events.

"However changing one's destiny is more difficult, but it is good to have advance warning in significant events. The future is similar to a blank piece of paper. Your destiny is dependent on how you react to certain events and how 'you draw your life' on the piece of paper."

Andy's ways of keeping fit

Source :: http://ent.tom.com/
Translated by AWCSG00175 (Jasamine) from http://forum.awc618.com

Andy Lau is an artiste who pays lot of attention on his physical build. This is how he keeps fit. During his rest days, he will have a cup of hot coffee and a toast for his lunch.
No sandwich, just a toast. It is through his strict diet and exercise that he managed to slim down.

When Andy is at work, he will share the same breakfast/lunch/dinner menus as his staff. EAsy! However, having said that, he will not eat a lot. It's really quality vs quantity...he is quite strict with what he eats.

When Andy dines with his friends, his favourite choice would be steamboat.
Now let's talk about beverage...Andy is also very strict on this. He seldoms drink cold drinks. Coffee and tea must be served hot. He also doesnt like mineral water.
He loves fruit punch eg apple with carrot (to supplement water content in the body).

Last but not least, Andy will do lots of exercise to keep fit. He has a well equipped gym at home to do that.

According to a fellow artiste in the movie A World without Thieves, Andy eats a lot of rice during filming, probably because filming drains a lot of energy and he needs lots of carbohydrates. However, Andy kept remind them
that they have to eat lots of fruits and drink carrot juice, especially the girls. He believed that carrot juice will
keep one youthful.

To summarise, Andy's diet as follows:
On work days
- Breakfast: milk + toast + fruits
- Lunch + Dinner - lunch box; high in fibre

Off days:
- Breakfast - one cup of hot coffee and oat porridge
- Lunch - one cup of hot coffee, one toast
- Dinner - pan-fried fish, vegetables with some meat. However, no beef please.

Anita Yuen show support to Andy

At the Hong Kong Film Awards presentation ceremony last night, the organiser specially arranged Anita Yuen to go onto the stage to talk about the Andy Lau crazy fan incident to show her support to Andy. She pointed out that she had took up many roles all these years which includes Miss Hong Kong, actress, Best Actress winner, last year she took up the best role -- mother, but she won't be taking up the role of a fan, as she would not go idol visiting, car chase after idol's car, waiting for idol at the hotel, she will respect her idol as she know that they require their personal space too, what a fan should do is to support his/her idol and a successful idol would not like the fans to disturb the fan's life, both side should support and encourage one another.

Anita said: "Last year I acted in Protege while I was pregnant, hope I can win Best Supporting Actress in 2008, currently I'm an Andy Lau fan, although he's under huge pressure, but I wanted to tell him: Andy Lau, I support you forever."

Gillian Chung and Nicholas Tse Collaborate In New Ancient Series

As a father-to-be, Nicholas Tse is currently concentrating on his work in Mo Shek. This will be the first time that he will collaborate with Gillian Chung as an on-screen couple in 30 episode series, "Rinsing Flowers and Purifying Swords".

It has been said that "Rinsing Flowers and Purifying Swords" has the highest production fees of all Mainland series this year. Just Nicholas' salary for filming the series is already 10, 000, 000HK$. When speaking of having to re-portray the famous production of Leslie Cheung's back in 1979, and if Nicholas feel any pressure, Nicholas frankly responded, "When Gor Gor (Leslie)'s version was airing back then, it is a pity that I was not even born yet. I had actually planned to search for that version and watch it before beginning to film, but now I'm really stuck. My only option right now is just to do my best; hopefully, I'll be able to bring the character out."

Although Gillian's salary is not as high as Nicholas', rumour has it that her daily salary for filming the series goes to six place values (millions). And as Gillian has had her 'lips sealed' and been forbidden to film intimate scenes ever since she came into the ET industry, this series is not an exception either. While she was filming a romance scene with Nicholas earlier, it had only consisted of embracing and leaning on each other, nothing extremely intimate at all. Also, Nicholas had planned to ask for a break during July-August to stay by Cecilia Cheung's side while she gives birth, but his management company had only been able to arrange for him to be working in Hong Kong at the time, making it easier for him to accompany his wife.

If Andy doesn't appear, crazy fan vows not to go home

Source :: Hk Newspapers (Apple Daily/ Wen wei po/Ta kung pao/Sing Pao/The Sun/Oriental Daily)
Translated by AWCSG00155 from http://forum.awc618.com

Yesterday afternoon Yang & her mother claimed the body of her father, they are to get a date for cremation today, the earliest is estimated to be more than a week later, at that time they will hold a simple wake. Yang again declares that Andy has to come to the wake to pay the last respect or meet her personally, otherwise she will not leave HK. Staying at a hotel in Nan Chang Rd, they did not appeared till yesterday afternoon at 2, at the request by the Taiwanese media for an interview. The interview was held at the nearby park & lasted for about 40 mins.

At about 3 pm, they wanted to go to the mortuary, a magazine reporter offered to send them. Though the mortuary do not usually function in the afternoon, the staff gave them special treatment. Yang waited by the side while her mother did the procedure. Yang appeared restless, sitting & walking abt, mumbling to herself or clasping her hands.

Yang described the situation was caused by Andy, if Andy was willing to meet her alone that day such a tragedy would not have happened, & claimed she harbors no ‘fantasy’, still insists Andy come to pay the last respect & meet her. She said the media gives her only negative news, she is going to explain to Andy on meeting him.

If after the funeral, she still cannot meet Andy, her mother will stay back in HK, until the request is met....

Andy stranded for seven days to avoid a crazy fan

Translated by AWCSG00155 from http://forum.awc618.com

Honored as Outstanding Youth of The World, Andy is always viewed as having an upright image by all. In circle 27 yrs, not only is he without negative news, news on his romance is only with Zhu Liqian.

Never has anyone expected that he can be 'plagued' by a 'Hua Pursuer' of 13 yrs till his head has gone 'big'.

After the drowning of Yang’s father end of last month, Andy was saddled with intense pressure, he who is a workaholic was forced to forgo his recording of his Mandarin album.

Last Thursday the fan again launched an 'attack' in HK, Andy was stranded in his home for 168 hours.

It was learnt that both mother & daughter will leave HK this Friday, in order not to irritate the two, only has to stay indoors!!

The matter has been on for 2 weeks, it was still a hot topic, not only media in mainland widely reported the news, a singer even sponsored them with cash to come to HK. Though said to settle the funeral, every word Yang said gunned at Andy, "I'm completely disappointed with him, he is heartless, if he is still a human, he shd come to see my father for the last time."

Silence is golden. Faced with the repeated accusations by Yang, Andy chose to keep quiet, & stressed he won’t give any response. Looks like he is heartless, but actually what he wants is not to make the matter bigger.

The insider said, "It involved a life this time, he is really unhappy, he has lostinterest even with bowling, he stays at home everyday, he had planned to go for holidays in south east asia region, but due to Good Friday, there was no ticket. Everyone is so worried abt him, his staff, good friends take turns to pay him visits, to enlighten him, his father talks to him everyday, his mood is now slightly better."

Controlling his desire for bowling

Previously whenever he is off work, he will bowl for two days weekly, this time it is against his usual by staying at home. The last time he went bowling was on 23rd March, 2 days before he saw Yang.

For 13 years Yang has continued with her pursue of Andy, Andy has long known about this, his fans too know & they have always advised him to be careful for any excessive behavior from Yang.

Yang had been to Beijing 3 times, Hong Kong 2 times, Once when Andy was in China promoting A Battle of wits, Yang’s father yelled 'Andy, Jian is here!'

On the Birthday party on 25 March @ AWC office, a fan said, "I was sitting beside her, the first 3 hours nothing happened, but after photo taking with Andy, when she came back to her seat, she was like a mad person, kept pestering her father, & scolding him, 'You're useless! You can't even arrange for me to meet him alone…" Everybody turned to look at them.

On 20 March, the 3 of them were at AWC doorstep waiting since 7 am, as her membership has already expired, she was not allowed in, they went to governmental offices to hand in letter, wanting to meet Andy.

AWC staff later informed that on 25 March the 3 of them could attend the party on 25 March her father specially reminded the staff, "Please introduce my daughter specially to Andy, so that he can have close contact with her for a chat, & sign autograph." There was a photography session, & a sad ending.

Linda Chung Attend Movie Premiere with Virginia Lok & TVB Artists

Caption: Virginia Lok gathered a group of TVB artists to attend the premiere of Linda Chung's new movie, "Totally in Love."

Linda Chung Ka Yan's first movie, "Totally in Love" 《十分愛》 held its premiere last night. TVB executive, Virginia Lok Yi Ling also brought artists, Shirley Yeung Si Kei, Tracy Ip Chui Chui, Shum Wing Ning, Matthew Ko Nancy Wu Ding Yan, Suki Chui Suk Man etc. to the premiere to support Linda. The TVB entourage stole the limelight from movie leads, Alex Fong and Stephy Tang.

At the premiere, there was a man who grabbed headlines by displaying a t-shirt with the words, "Andy Lau, The Shame of China," in protest of his recent silence over his fan, Yeung Lai Koon's father's death. He claimed Andy paid him $500 a day for his activities, while also muttering, "I'm completely disappointed in Andy Lau!" The man's words were nonsensical and his presence caused a stir in the crowd.

Linda wore a gold-colored dress which was quite eye catching. Regarding the attendance of Ms. Lok, she laughed, "Ms. Lok loves each artist and with a free slot on her schedule, she was able to attend tonight, even inviting some of my friends from Vancouver!"

Was Linda anxious over the box office performance of her first movie? "I watched the trailers earlier; hopefully the box office will be satisfactory. Stephy and Alex's earlier movie, 《獨家試愛》had good results, so hopefully 'Totally in Love' will do well too!"

"Last month was my birthday; perhaps this will bring extra luck to the movie's performance!"

Despite receiving sponsorship for $500,000 (HKD) in jewels, Stephy's limelight was stolen by Linda Chung. Since there was a fan protesting Andy Lau at the premiere, did this impact Stephy and Alex's enjoyment of the event? Stephy replied, "I didn't notice the protester. He has his freedom to do so; there is nothing we can do to stop him."
Alex did not feel that the protest impacted the atmosphere, as no one could predict such events.

Google Earth maps atrocities in Darfur

Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Search engine Google and the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum launched an online mapping project on Tuesday to provide what the museum said was evidence of atrocities committed in Sudan's western Darfur region.

More than 200,000 people have been killed in Darfur since 2003 and some of this carnage -- which the United States calls the first genocide of this century -- has been detailed by Google Earth, the search engine's mapping service (http://earth.google.com).

Using high-resolution imagery, users can zoom into Darfur to view more than 1,600 damaged or destroyed villages, providing what the Holocaust Museum says is evidence of the genocide. Sudan's government denies that genocide is taking place.

In addition, the remnants of more than 100,000 homes, schools, mosques and other structures destroyed by janjaweed militia in Darfur, Sudanese forces and others are visible.

"When it comes to responding to genocide, the world's record is terrible. We hope this important initiative with Google will make it that much harder for the world to ignore those who need us the most," said Holocaust Museum director Sara Bloomfield in a statement.

"Crisis in Darfur" is the first of the museum's "Genocide Prevention Mapping Initiative" that is aimed at providing information on potential genocides early on in the hope that governments and others can act quickly to prevent them.

"At Google, we believe technology can be a catalyst for education and action," Elliot Schrage, Google's vice president, said in a statement.

Sources for the project included the U.S. State Department, nongovernmental organizations, the United Nations and individual photographers as well as the Holocaust Museum, which is based in Washington.

Microsoft warns of 4 "critical" security holes

Reuters

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp. (MSFT.O: Quote, Profile, Research) warned of four security flaws in its software that it categorized as "critical" on Tuesday that could allow attackers to gain control of a user's computer.

Microsoft, whose Windows operating system runs some 95 percent of the world's computers, issued the patches as part of its monthly security bulletin.

The world's biggest software maker defines a flaw as "critical" when it could allow a damaging Internet worm to replicate without the user's doing anything to the machine.

The company said the "critical" patches fixed three holes in its Windows operating system and another in its Content Management Server product. Microsoft also issued another security update for Windows it rated at the lower threat level of "important."

The fixes come a little more than a week after it released a patch outside of the regular monthly update to plug a security hole related to an animated cursor that hackers had used to launch attacks after users clicked on links to malicious Web sites.

The company has been working to improve the security and reliability of its software as more and more malicious software target weaknesses in Windows and other Microsoft software.

The latest patches can be downloaded at www.microsoft.com/security.

Eason and Miriam's movie "Ah Miu's 10 Years" has changed it's name to "When Changes Come" (tentative English translation) and continued filming yesterday.
Ayumi Hamasaki held her concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum recently. Eason commented his suspicion of her lip-syncing, and resulted in people criticizing him on the internet and wanting to boycott his albums. To avoid kicking up the matter, Eason did not respond to this.

Miriam also went to Ayumi's concert. She felt it was exciting and worth the ticket. Miriam's concert in October will have hot dances as well. After watching Ayumi's singing and dancing at the same time, she felt it was difficult. Hence after filming the movie, Miriam will train her lungs and breathing. When asked if she'll lip-sync, she replied, "Of course not. I already said I'll train up after filming."

Residents complained the production team did not clean up the filming location. Miriam helped to explain, "We haven't finished filming that time so we still have to continue filming. The things left at the location are not rubbish, but props. We will definitely clean up the place after the shoot is complete."

Miriam's new plugged song "Dissolution" or "Changed" was misunderstood by people that it's hinting her wish to retire. Miriam stressed that when she feels bored, she'll retire. Many female stars retire after they get married. When asked if she'll enter the kitchen to cook after she gets married, Miriam said marriage is also another kind of career. However, she's not married to a husband or a mansion, but a wok shovel, because she can't possibly eat "Chaa Siew rice" everyday.

HP tries to create printers that love the Web

CNET News.com | By Damon Darlin

Vyomesh Joshi, the senior vice president in charge of Hewlett-Packard's printing division, bounded up to the stage to congratulate his employees on their performance.

He was ebullient, and with good reason: revenue, profit, margins and market share were all up, he told them at a quarterly "coffee talk" in late February.

He followed that up with a less-heartening tale. He said one of his daughters, a college student, had told him, "I don't need a printer." Like many people of her generation, she lives online and finds it unnecessary or too difficult to put bits onto paper.

"The intent of this is not to scare you, though I am scared," Joshi said.

The Internet era has been good to makers of printers so far. HP's numbers show that half the printing done in homes is material from the Internet, like e-mail and Web pages, while software like Microsoft Word accounts for just under 20 percent of printouts.

But looking ahead, Joshi is concerned that if people find printing Web pages too hard and start printing less, he will have fewer coffee talks where he crows about record revenue, profit, margins and market share.

So Joshi is beginning to introduce a strategy that could be as important as his previous strategic shifts. Those led the company to sell copiers and commercial printers, along with photo prints via the online service Snapfish.com and photo-printing kiosks in stores. Now he wants HP to figure out a way to get people to print more Web pages.

"It's an indication of a broader strategy to leverage the Internet," said Charlie Corr, group director of InfoTrends, a market consulting firm. Joshi sees Internet material, in particular blogs and personal photo galleries, as a driver of demand for printing, Corr said. "He has a vision that transforms how and when things are printed."

Worrying about a trend that has yet to materialize may seem odd for someone running a unit that last year brought in 30 percent of HP's $91.7 billion in revenue and more than half its operating profit.

Through good times and bad, HP has counted on the imaging and printing group and its version of the classic razor-and-blade business model: sell inexpensive printers and make the money on the ink.

The company fiddles with that model as if it were tuning a perpetual motion machine. If HP wants to see higher profit in several months to compensate for slower growth in another area, Joshi's unit will cut printer prices. More printers are sold, and new customers are soon buying high-margin replacement ink or toner cartridges.

The company, based in Palo Alto, Calif., is dominant in printers--half the printers sold in the world carry the HP logo. New entrants to the market like Dell, Samsung and more recently Kodak pose little threat. Joshi's concern is a shifting market.

He spotted a change in consumer habits from printing digital photos at home to printing them at stores, so he pushed the photo kiosk strategy. He keeps looking for ways to spur faster growth and stave off complacency. "Companies don't transform at the top, they transform when they are at the bottom," Joshi said.

Which brings Joshi back to his concern about his daughter. It isn't her fault that she finds printing annoying. It is difficult to print the content on many Web sites, whether they are blogs, MySpace.com pages, lists from comparison shopping sites or even directions from Google Maps. Printouts often look haphazard, with large bands of white space or images chopped in two.

Last month, in a small step toward making sure that home printers keep churning, HP bought a small company, Tabblo, a privately held developer of Web-based software in Cambridge, Mass.

Tabblo's software creates templates that reorganize the photos and text blocks on a Web page to fit standard sizes of paper. HP wants to make the software a standard by making it ubiquitous, like Adobe Systems' Flash and Reader or Sun Microsystems' Java.

"We'd make printing as much a nonevent in the online world as it is in the desktop world," said Pradeep Jotwani, the unit's senior vice president in charge of the supplies business.

If it creates the printing engine of the Web, HP will help all printer companies--but as the industry leader, it will benefit more than its rivals. It is only the first step, analysts said, as the company tries to stay at the center of a system of consumers and businesses generating and printing Internet content, whether it is for homemade books or custom marketing materials.

A director of Yahoo since 2005, Joshi is well aware of how a new technology can shake up well-established companies. He is just as fascinated by how companies transform, reading several books a week on the subject when he is not reading novels or watching movies. That interest might seem unusual for an executive who has spent his career with one company.

After graduating from engineering school in India, where he grew up, Joshi went to Ohio State on a scholarship and received his master's degree in electrical engineering in 1980. HP hired him as an inkjet printer engineer. For his first six months on the job, he walked from his apartment up a long hill to the company's factory and research center near San Diego.

"I didn't have any money," he said. Though company filings show that he made $12.2 million last year in salary, bonuses and stock awards, he lives in a home that is modest by local standards and is located less than a mile from the same factory.

One of Joshi's first assignments was to increase the reliability of the inkjet printer heads that shoot bubbles of ink onto the page. Cartridges were failing after firing only 600,000 drops. He figured out a way to make them fire 45 million drops. That meant a cartridge would run out of ink long before failing, which, he jokes, opened the door for the cartridge refilling industry, the bane of HP's business model.

Joshi was given the top job at the unit in 2002 by Carly Fiorina, then the chief executive. After Fiorina was forced to resign in 2005, Joshi was briefly mentioned in news reports as a possible candidate to replace her. His interest in transforming companies is shared by Mark Hurd, who won the chief executive job.

Hurd recognized Joshi's ability to expand the business, and the two worked out an arrangement so that the imaging and printing group got to keep a greater percentage of its profits to invest in its own growth.

Joshi's goal is growth of at least 6 percent a year, which means adding $1.6 billion to as much as $2 billion in revenue annually. The company is looking for more things to print, from museum-quality art to the advertisements wrapped around buses.

On the imaging side, the company has digitized 10,000 movies owned by Sony and signed an agreement with Warner Bros. to do the same with its archives, creating "digital vaults" of films that can then be distributed online.

HP signed up Wal-Mart Stores as the first customer for the digital vault. That was a coup because the chain sells 40 percent of all DVDs, putting it in a good position to promote movie downloads. "It's hard to make bold moves with the studios without their very biggest customer," said Willem de Zoete, vice president and general manager of the digital entertainment services business at HP.

About eight months ago, Joshi began sharing his thoughts about his latest strategy with members of the staff. "He's not afraid of sharing half-baked stuff," said Hatem Mostafa, senior vice president of the inkjet business. "It wasn't smooth. It was bits and pieces. But it's an effective way for us to own it before we set off on it," he said.

"He trawls the halls at 6 o'clock looking for people to talk to, and he's been doing that for 20 years," said Francis McMahon, North American marketing director for the company's commercial printing efforts.

One of Joshi's favorite tactics is to think in opposites: for instance, to lose weight one should think about how one gains it. Joshi has been pushing the idea that the focus on printers has meant that the company was looking at the means and not the ends. In fact, he said, HP may not really be in the printing business. "We are in the content consumption business," he said.

The hardest part for Joshi? "Reluctantly, I am doing blogs," he told the employees at the companywide coffee talk. He said he needed to understand how they work. "Otherwise, we will be irrelevant."

Johnathan Rhys-meyers' Monarch Makeover

Johnathan Rhys-meyers' Monarch Makeover.... Mission: Impossible 3 star Jonathan Rhys-Meyers has defended his casting as famously overweight English king Henry Viii, insisting US audiences don't want to watch an obese royal.

The Irish heart-throb is playing the 16th century tyrant - who married six times - in Us Tv Series The Tudors, which shows a sexed up side to Tudor England.

Rhys-Meyers says, "You're trying to sell a historical period drama to a country like America, you don't want a big, fat, 250 pounds, red haired guy with a beard.

"It doesn't let people embrace the fantastic monarch he was, because they're not attracted to the package. Heroes do not look like Henry Vlll. That is just the world we live in."

2007 Malaysian F1 Grand Prix: Kovalainen Can Surprise all in Sepang

Having competed with Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen in the GP2 Series, Fairuz Mohamed Fauzy believes the two rookies could surprise the more established Formula One drivers at the upcoming Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix this weekend.

“These are two very good and very competitive drivers and they are very capable of winning any race,” said the 24-year old Malaysian, who is currently the test driver for Spyker-Ferrari F1 Team.

Taking a diplomatic stand not to compare the two McLaren and Renault drivers strength to strength, Fairuz was, however, a clear fan of Hamilton, who was a dominating force in the GP2 Series last year. Kovalainen, on the other hand, was second to Nico Rosberg in the maiden series in 2005.

Both, however, had a contrasting debut in Formula One in Australia two weeks ago with the McLaren Mercedes driver going up to the podium in third spot while Kovalainen failing to shine at the season-opener.

Preparing for the race in Sepang this weekend, Hamilton and Kovalainen were equally impressive during the recent F1 test with Hamilton chalking the fastest time for Thursday with a time of 1 minute 35.918 seconds around the 5.543-km track and Kovalainen taking the honours for the final day on March 30 with a time of 1 minute 35.757 seconds.

“Hamilton has been professionally groomed since he was eight years old by McLaren under a comprehensive development programme. And, that makes him a very good driver,” said Fairuz when met in Angkasapuri where he was a guest in the Hello On Two morning show with his father, Haji Mohamed Fauzy Abdul Hamid.

Like Fairuz, his father also spoke highly of Hamilton and the programme that McLaren had developed for the young British driver.

“He was McLaren protégé since he was a kid after he won McLaren’s Search For Champion programme for the cadet go-kart racer,” Haji Mohamed Fauzy said, adding that McLaren had fully back his racing programme including when he was competing in in the GP2 Series where Hamilton won comfortably.

Currently competing in Renault World Series, Fairuz said his priority now was to secure a many mileage as possible in the Spyker-Ferrari F1 car and learn as much as he can on in his pursuit to be a Formula One driver.

Initially penned to take the track during free practice on Friday, the Spyker-Ferrari team, however, had relented in their stand and decided for the actual drivers Christijan Albers and Adrian Sutil to drive.

“It is a decision taken by the team to give both drivers more mileage because the team did not participate in the Sepang testing. On my part, I would like to apologise to the Malaysian fans,” added Fairuz.

Infernal Affairs vs The Departed

Though I watched IA a while ago, I think my memory serves to praise IA more than The Departed.

I am assuming that the Matt and Andy characters wanted to turn "good" which was the reason they killed their mob boss and mole colleagues. They no longer wanted to be bad guys so they killed the only people who knew they were not who they pretended to be. While watching The Departed, you don't exactly know that's going through Matt's character's mind. But when you come to think about his scared-sounding talk with Jack Nicholson, his stammering and promising he'll take care of things, then you see it.

The part where Jack Nicholson's group wanted to find the mole within his group, it seemed kinda unusual they didn't suspect Leo's character more than they did. Sure, an older guy who's been in the organization longer could've suddenly turned (although we don't know the length of anyone's membership save for Jack's main guy). But my first inclination would be to suspect the new guy Leo. And no amount of "I'm not the mole" would satisfy me.

But why was Jack Nicholson's character also an informant? Was that right? Ah, the movie was too long and my interest, and my energy, just waned by the conclusion.

It's the first time Kong Tao Hoi, an action director and production planner, works as a director. He was the one behind all sorts of sleight of hand card tricks that Chow Yun Fat did in God of Gamblers. This time around, he will devise not only a set of tough moves for The Twins, but also fresh, novel ways of pilfering.
Wu Jing plays dual roles, one of which is a martial arts exponent raised by a lama, while another a character who passed away due to cancer. Wu Jing says that he accepted the project because of Tsui Siu Ming, who has always been supportive of him, and that he holds Tsiu Siu Ming in respect. When being called by Tsui Siu Ming, and that his management thought that the movie was not bad, they decided to took up the offer. Wu Jing will exchange blows against Twins Gillian Chung and Charlene Choi. He believes that their fight scenes will turn out well as long as they can get used to each other's rhythm. He adds that while the martial arts scenes in Let's Steal Together are different from SPL, he will be facing quite a bit of challenging actions.
Jeffrey, the movie's promoter, says the production specifically had the script revised for Wu Jing, "Initially, there weren't too many action scenes for Tian Liang's role, but with martial artist Wu Jing's participation, we have to include more fight scenes, naturally. At the same time, Wu Jing will have romances with The Twins." Apart from Twins, Zhang Qian will have a relationship with Wu Jing. In the movie, she has a brother who is afflicted by cancer.
Because of the hot weather, with temperature going up to as high as 40ºC, many of the production crew are being struck by heatstroke. Gillian Chung has also caught a flu. However, due to tight schedule, she didn't even have time to visit the doctor. Gillian Chung says that she often feels a lack of oxygen upon knocking off and returning from the set. Meanwhile, Charlene Choi has sprained her waist. Despite The Twins' complaints of the difficulties, Wu Jing still praises them for their professionalism, while The Twins are full of admiration for this martial arts star.
Recently, Wu Jing suffered from appendicitis, gastritis and leukopenia, and has just discharged after 3 days' stay at the hospital. He explains that it might be due to the fact that he has to worked in the night often, and has had many action scenes to handle and has to suspend on wires, and coupled with the sweltering weather, he could hardly sleep and did not had much appetite, and thus, his health was aversely affected.
When shooting a scene, Gillian Chung was suspended on wires for 2 consecutive hours. Though she was feeling uncomfortable and even requested for a break and put her down, the director did not hear her and even commended that the certain kick she did was nicely executed, and asked her to do it again. She ended up doing it for 10 times. She let out a scream when eventually she released from the wires.
On July 24 night, filming took place at Guangzhou Changlong Night Safari. Gillian Chung and Charlene Choi were doing circus performances and had to tame the hippopotamus, monkeys, goats, monkeys, birds and tigers. In one scene, The Twins lead a pair of hippopotamuses into the ring. On each hippopotamus was a goat and a monkey. Due to some minor slips on The Twins' part and that it wasn't easy to coax the animals into cooperating, it took them 90 minutes just to film the 10-second scene.

Miriam's Neck Hurt Due to Vigorous Laughing

Miriam hurt her neck during the recording of "Minutes to Fame" because she laughed too vigorously. Even the doctor commented it was quite a ridiculous way to get hurt.

Miriam did an interview at RTHK yesterday and said her neck veins have an infection. The doctor asked her to do more exercise and gave her medicine to apply. She needs at least a one week rest. Other than radio interviews, Miriam had to record for her new album during the night. There's no time for her to rest. The most troublesome thing is that she could not drive her own car.

In the radio program, every guest were to introduce a minority group and Miriam introduced the Manchu. The DJ found a Manchurian maid's head gear for Miriam to wear. Miriam exclaimed, "Wah! Lend it to me, I'll go to Lan Kwai Fong to date Caucasians!" When asked if she'll really do that she replied,"Westerners like these sort of Chinese images. (They like weird-looking Chinese girls) Am I not weird enough with this look?"

Miriam has never dated Westerners. She thinks it's better to be able to communicate in her own language. Normally, she treats her foreign friends with courtesy and never thought about a foreigner trying to pursue her. As for mainlanders, she thinks that as long as she likes the person, she won't gage suitability by countries.

Google lets users create own maps

Reuters | By Eric Auchard

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Google Inc. is out to make map-making simpler, giving away tools for ordinary users to pinpoint locations, draw routes and attach photos or video to existing online maps, the company said on Wednesday.

The Web search leader, which set off an explosion of creative map-making among professional programmers after introducing Google Maps two years ago, is now offering MyMaps, tools for everyday users to create maps in a few mouse clicks.

Let your imagination run wild, spatially speaking: Pinpoint your favorite restaurant locations. Return from a world tour and plot out landmarks along the way. Take photos from a recent hike and use MyMaps to illustrate locations along the trail.

"Who better to create maps than local experts?" Jessica Lee, product manager for Google Maps, said in an interview. "MyMaps makes map-making universally accessible to anyone."

Creators of custom maps can publish them so other users can find them when searching Google Maps. Users of Google Local search will now see relevant user-generated MyMaps show up in a special section along with traditional commercial results.

Or they can choose to leave their MyMaps unlisted for personal use or to share with a select group of friends.

See the new features by clicking on the MyMaps tab now available at Google Maps (http://maps.google.com/).

MyMaps can also feature YouTube videos or other snippets of Web content in small windows that appear when a user clicks on pinpointed location. Anyone comfortable with the trick of adding small bits of hypertext code to a Web site or blog or MySpace profile can add video to MyMaps in just a few clicks.

Feeling uninspired? Just search out an address on Google Maps and add MyMaps locations automatically to anyone of your existing maps by clicking the button that appears saying "Save to MyMaps."

Instead of telling stories in chronological fashion using text or pictures, map-making this easy allows people to narrate their lives location-by-location.

Lee describes how one Google employee recreated their resume on MyMaps, where each job or education entry was pinpointed by location.

Leave it to a Google engineer to create a map featuring the locations where great computer languages were invented in recent decades: http://tinyurl.com/2n5or3/. Another employee created a map of life around Google's Silicon Valley headquarters at http://tinyurl.com/ytwvnw/.

Another more fanciful example charts monster sightings worldwide, from Godzilla to Dracula, Mummy, the Blob, King Kong and Bigfoot, Lee said. (http://tinyurl.com/2lkqhu)

MyMaps is initially available in the United States and the national versions of Google in nine other countries including Australia, Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands and Spain.

War of In Laws will have a modern sequel

Ah Jie, Liza Wang, supports Bosco Wong

In 2005, War of In Laws(WOIL), starring Liza Wang, Bosco Wong, Myolie Wu, was extremely popular. It was watched by over 2.5 million viewers. It has been decided to film a modern sequel in June this year. As Bosco is currently filming another series, it is rumoured that he might not be able to participate in this modern version of WOIL. It has also been rumoured that Kenneth Ma might take Bosco's place in the modern version. However, nai nai (mother-in-law) displayed her sassy side and requested to keep the original cast. Ah Jie said, "If we are filming the modern version of WOIL, of course it would be better if we kept the original cast!"

Rumours would be used to promote the series

War of In Laws peaked at 38 points, averaging around 35 points when it aired in 2005. This enabled WOIL to be the series to received the highest ratings in 2005. Ah Jie, Liza Wang, also received the TVB Best Actress in 2005 for her role in WOIL. As for her son, "But Lau Ming" acted by Bosco Wong and "daughter-in-law" Myolie Wu, their rumours have lasted until today.

According to reliable sources, TVB will be filming a 20 episode modern WOIL. However, it is not confirmed as it is in its early stages of planning. As for Bosco, he is currently filming a 80 episode Jewel Splendor. It is rumoured that Kenneth Ma will be replacing Bosco, but as there was extremely good chemistry between Liza and Bosco in the ancient version, Liza feels that it would be best to use the original cast to keep the original feel. Therefore, TVB has rearranged the shooting schedule for Jewel Splendor in order to allow Bosco to take part in the modern version of WOIL.

With Ah Jie's support, Bosco now has a chance to participate in the modern version, sacrificing Kenneth Ma. Yesterday, reporters called up Liza and Liza said, "Yes, there wil be a modern version, but I don't know anything about my character, you will have to ask the producer." (Is she strongly requesting for Bosco to be included) "Yes, he is going to be in the modern version, using the original cast would be best!" As for Kenneth Ma, "I know there would be a modern version, but I have never heard that they would be asking me to participate in it." (Are you disappointed?) "It is a waste for not being able to participate in every drama." As for Bosco, "I have heard of plans for a modern version, but I don't know the details, there would be a difference if Kenneth Ma is included, but there would be better chemistry if we used the original cast." When asked about his feelings about Liza strongly supporting him, Bosco said, "I really want to thank Liza for caring about me." (Are you worried that there will be more rumours between you and Myolie) "Everyone still remembers the rumours until now, it would be a good selling point."

Daughter-in-law also said, "I have heard that there will be a modern version, but it has not been confirmed. It would be great if the original cast was used, there would be new sparks in the modern version." There is some quotes that this drama would be TVB's ratings secret weapon, Myolie said, "I don't think so, what secret weapon?" When mentioned about Kenneth Ma, Myolie replied, "As a professional actress, I would be able to co-operate with anyone, it is up to the company to arrange for the cast, instead, I'm worried that the audience will not find it exciting, and will be more excited over this compared to rumours."

Kimura Talks about Jerry in his Radio Show

Chinese Transcript by Wheel0704 of www.jerryyan.org

Takuya Kimura has a Radio show wherein he talks about his shows, live performances or even made some interlude for the fans, he even talked about F4's guesting on their show SMAPXSMAP. He said that the group F4 was very cute because after the show they even asked for a group picture and autograph from them.

Takuya even said: "After F4's portion was taped, I thought they already left, but after I finished taping the whole show, I was surprised to see Mr. Yan (there was a term Takuya used in addressing Jerry which is often used to call the elders) waiting for me. When he saw me coming he said: "Xin Ku le!" (literally means you've worked hard enough), then he said he was waiting for me to finish so we could have a picture together. I was wondering why he wanted to do it again since we just had one right after their portion was taped. In the end I learned that because I was dressed funny in the show, he wanted to have a picture with me in my usual look. He even waited for me to finish the taping. This left a very deep impression in me."

Google bidding for DoubleClick?

CNET News.com | By Reuters

Google has emerged along with Microsoft as a contender to buy DoubleClick, presenting competition that stands to increase the final sale price of the online-advertising company, people familiar with the situation said in The Wall Street Journal.

Microsoft has appeared less likely to win the bidding as the potential price for the company surpassed $2 billion, people familiar with the situation said in the newspaper.

Yahoo and Time Warner's AOL online unit also have talked to DoubleClick--which is majority-owned by San Francisco private-equity firm Hellman & Friedman--though it is unclear whether AOL is still in the race, these people said.

DoubleClick is using investment bank Morgan Stanley to help explore its options, including a possible stock market listing, the newspaper reported last week. Hellman & Freidman has reportedly set a price tag of at least $2 billion for the advertising company.

Such a price tag could amount to a hefty return for the private equity firm, which took DoubleClick private in mid-2005 in a deal worth $1.1 billion.

Representatives from Google were not immediately available for comment.

'Blades of Glory' Wins Box Office Gold

Stars-on-ice Will Ferrell and Jon Heder took the box office gold for the weekend. Paramount and DreamWorks' "Blades of Glory," with Ferrell and Heder playing figure-skating rivals who become the sport's first men's pair, debuted as the No. 1 movie with $33 million in ticket sales, according to studio estimates Sunday.

Disney's animated adventure "Meet the Robinsons," about the time-traveling journey of a brilliant but lonely orphan, debuted in second place with $25.1 million.

The previous weekend's top movie the Warner Bros. animated tale "TMNT," a revival of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle" franchise slipped to fourth place with $9.2 million, down a steep 62 percent from its $24.3 million debut. "TMNT" raised its 10-day total to $38.4 million.

After a monthlong surge, the overall box office declined. The top 12 movies took in $115 million, down 13 percent from the same weekend last year, when "Ice Age: The Meltdown" opened with $68 million.

"This is still a good weekend, a pretty healthy one-two punch with `Blades of Glory' and `Meet the Robinsons' at the top," said Paul Dergarabedian, president of box-office tracker Media By Numbers.

Movie attendance is up 4 percent so far this year, Dergarabedian said.

Teaming with "Napoleon Dynamite" star Heder on "Blades of Glory," Ferrell scored the second-best opening of his career, behind last summer's "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby," which took in $47 million in its first weekend.

"It starts with a great concept, and the whole picture was cast so well," said DreamWorks spokesman Marvin Levy. "Another part of the surprise was, we got a ton of very, very good reviews."

"Meet the Robinsons" played in about 3,400 theaters and did especially well in a 3-D version at 600 cinemas, said Chuck Viane, head of distribution for Disney. The studio did not have a precise breakdown, but cinemas reported that screens playing the 3-D version pulled in about double the grosses of theaters running the regular 2-D version, Viane said.

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Media By Numbers LLC. Final figures will be released Monday.

1. "Blades of Glory," $33 million.

2. "Meet the Robinsons," $25.1 million.

3. "300," $11.2 million.

4. "TMNT," $9.2 million.

5. "Wild Hogs," $8.4 million.

6. "Shooter," $8 million.

7. "Premonition," $5.1 million.

8. "The Last Mimzy," $4 million.

9. "The Hills Have Eyes 2," $3.9 million.

10. "Reign Over Me," $3.7 million.

Andy replied for the first time

Super "Andy Lau fan" Yang Lijuan had returned to Lanzhou on 30 March. When reporters tried to contact her, she expressed that she does not wish to be interview as she only plans to continue her visa application to Hong Kong as most importantly is to "bring her father home and complete his wish". She then exclaimed that reports that she seek $500,000 compensation from Andy is made up by the media.

When interviewed on telephone, she sounds agitated as she stressed that she's not unfilial as per stated by the media as her only aim to get her visa to Hong Kong is for her father and not meet Andy again. She said: "Ask him go and die, I hate him! I don't care where is he!" However, she added that Andy should pay respect to her father in order to complete his wish, her father's disappointment is Andy to meet her alone in private.

Meanwhile, Yang's mother show her anger against Andy, she said: "My daughter is too pitiful, she had given so much all these year, it can't end like this." When reporter asked her if it's worth it for her daughter to spend 13 years to chase after a star, she said: "Whatever my daughter do, I will support her!" Yang's mother exclaimed that Andy is in-considerate as he didn't consider of their situation. When reporter asked her what she will do if they failed to meet Andy if they go to Hong Kong again? Yang's mother did not answer directly but said: "He should be the one looking for us."

Meanwhile, Andy whom had not appeared since this incident had only made statement through his company's spokesman but he finally replied on this matter two days ago, he said: "Actually, I very unhappy, if because a girl whom like me and did so much things to hurt her father, I feel that it's a disappointment." Andy urges Yang Lijuan to stop such unreasonable behavior and all fans should not learn from her.

Wii are the champions?

By Antony Bruno

LOS ANGELES (Billboard) - The anticipated battle between Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3 for videogame console supremacy has become a sideshow to the unexpected rise of Nintendo's Wii as the new-generation game console of choice.

Once a dark-horse contender, the Wii has outsold both its competitors in recent months. According to sales data from the NPD Group, the Wii sold 335,000 units in February to the Xbox 360's 228,000 and the PS3's 127,000.

Of the three new-generation game consoles, the Xbox 360 has sold the most at 5 million units in the United States alone, but that's mainly due to the fact that it was released a full year earlier than either the Wii or the PS3. Since they first hit shelves last November, the PS3 has sold 1.1 million units while the Wii has tallied 1.86 million.

What's interesting is that the Wii achieved this feat not by offering a lot of multimedia bells and whistles like its competitors do, but by simply focusing on games.

"We've seen Nintendo expand the marketplace and grow it beyond the traditional gamer," says Michael Gartenberg of Jupiter Research. "They really redefined the videogame experience by creating something new and different."

That innovation is the Wii controller, a motion-sensitive wand that allows gamers to control the action onscreen by waving the device about rather than jostling a joystick and pushing buttons.

That controller and the games developed for it have captured the imagination of both the core gamer demographic and their parents, wives and other family members.

So what does that say about Sony and Microsoft, which also are hoping to attract nongamers to their respective new-generation consoles by positioning them as home entertainment hubs?

Both consoles contain hard drives to store content and allow users to stream music and video content from their home computers. The PS3 features a Blu-ray DVD player and is developing a Second Life-style virtual world called PS3 Home, while the Xbox Live Marketplace offers downloadable movies and TV shows.

"Microsoft and Sony clearly have larger aspirations for the game console in the living room as a portal for some of the other services they're trying to sell," Gartenberg says. "The hardcore gamer may be the one purchasing the console, but other family members may use the other features. Nintendo's approach has been to get nongamers playing games."

According to NPD Group spokesman David Riley, the Wii's "gaming first" message is much easier for nongamers to grasp than Microsoft and Sony's more complicated home entertainment message.

"While they have that capability, it's not that easy to use," he says. "It's going to be a ways off before that capability becomes mainstream."

Yet that's not to say the effort is in vain. Microsoft is showing signs of early success with its decision to add TV and movie downloads to the Xbox Live Marketplace. Since first making such content available last November, the company says it has seen a 400% increase in downloads. Microsoft did not reveal exactly how many downloads that figure represented.

"All of these strategies are viable," Gartenberg says. "It's not a question of one over the other. Nintendo has demonstrated that there are multiple ways to get into the hearts and minds of other family members."

Other factors also play a role in the Wii's early success. At $250, the Wii is the cheapest option on the shelves, with the Xbox 360 carrying a $400 tab and the PS3 a whopping $600. Additionally, the PS3 was hampered early on with severe product shortages and a dearth of blockbuster games that show off the system's capabilities.

But it's far too early to pick the ultimate winner. Gaming industry press and analysts still feel the PS3 has the chops to dominate in the end. Reviews at videogame site GameSpot say that "the PS3 has all the processor, graphics and communications power necessary to win this generation," while Electronic Arts departing CEO Larry Probst told a Web conference audience that he believed the PS3 will prove the ultimate winner.

Meanwhile, the Xbox 360 is taking strong lead in the number of games sold. The Xbox 360 has six titles in the top 10 for February -- including the No. 1 title -- while Wii has three and PS3 none (PS2 title "Guitar Hero" took the final spot). Additionally, Xbox 360 owners buy far more games than the owners of other consoles at a rate of 5.4 games per 360 owner. That rate falls to 2.3 for the PS3 and 2.8 for the Wii.

That leaves the Wii, for now, with everything to lose.

"Their challenge going forward is to make sure this is not a passing fad by getting a stream of content into the market," Gartenberg says. "The game console purchase driver is still going to be first and foremost games. The secondary stuff is the icing on the cake."

Synopsis :

In 2007, a Chinese independent brand car is finally running on the US's road. In the car, there are 3 directors from Wah family’s car factory – Wah Zhen Pong (Raymond), Tin Zhen Man (Feng Shao Feng ) and Wah Ching Ling (Toby Leung). After many years of hard work, they have finally establish an independent brand of cars, and successfully built up their overseas markets, thus bringing China’s car industry out a step further. This is the Wah’s family dream, and also a story of a family breaking up but reunited together again to work towards their dream.

In the early 20th century, Wah Hoi Yuen, who once worked for the government, returned to his hometown from overseas studies, and witnessed imported cars being driven around the city. Thus upon his return, he decided to develop China’s local car industry. After going through many struggles, he finally built a car-repair factory, and before the Word War 2, he expanded the car-repair factory to the manufacture of car engine as well, and slowly fulfilling his dream. However, war broke out, and the Wah’s corporation was forced to stop all expansions, until the war ended, and Republic of China was established, then the car engine factory reopened. At that time, it was already Wah Hoi Yuen’s son, Wah Yuk Cheong, being in charge. Yuk Cheong felt that the production of car engine was only a basic foundation; their ultimate aim was to build a car manufacturing empire. His hard work and effort put in influenced his 3 sons – Wah Man Hang (Damien Lau), Wah Man Hung (Liu Ging Sang) , and Wah Man Shek (Michael Miu). However, stepping into the 1950s, the internal economic environment changed, the car-engine factory was switched into a state-operated corporation, and the development became slower. Until the 1960s, Wah Yuk Cheong passed away due to overworking, and his dream was unfulfilled.

In 1965, the eldest son, Wah Man Hang (Damien Lau), had graduated from university, and felt that heading towards Hong Kong would have better chances of development, but there was still his mother to be taken care of. Hence, Man Hang (Damien Lau) and Man Hung (Liu Ging Sang) decided to draw lots and see who would stay behind. But, Man Hang (Damien Lau) cheated, and led to Man Hung (Liu Ging Sang) having to stay behind in China while Man Hang (Damien Lau) and Man Shek (Michael Miu) would proceed to Hong Kong. Man Hung (Liu Ging Sang) initially wanted to be an engineer at the car-engine factory, but due to the internal political crisis after 1966, he was forced to return to his hometown, and lost contact with the others. Stepping into the 1970s, Man Hung (Liu Ging Sang) finally returned to the car-engine factory to work, and later assisted in the production of tractors, taking a step forward towards the area of engine exports. On the other hand, Man Hang (Damien Lau) and Man Shek (Michael Miu) , who were in Hong Kong, continued working hard, and later obtained the appreciation of a businessman, Wong Cheng Kwok (Lau Kong) , who married his daughter, Wong Siu Fan (Sheren Tang), to Man Shek (Michael Miu). He even took out capital and cooperated with the brothers to operate a steel processing factory. From then on, both brothers became wealthy businessmen.

In the early 1980s, China changed her policy and opened up their markets, leading to the local businesses being able to grow rapidly. For Man Hung’s (Liu Ging Sang) tractor factory, it began to change its line to producing small trucks, and reaped positive results. Although the policy brought about many business opportunities, it also meant stiff competition, leading to this small car factory to face immense pressure in the market. In addition, there was no external car factories interested in cooperation, causing the business to go downhill. Right until the 90s, the car factory began to face trouble, and the only remedies left was to change the corporation to a collective ownership system, inject external capital and implement a modern management system. At that moment, Man Hang (Damien Lau) returned to search for Man Hung (Liu Ging Sang), but due to past reasons, the two brothers did not reconcile, and Man Hang (Damien Lau) secretly sent someone to invest in the car factory, in order to help Man Hung (Liu Ging Sang) overcome this crisis.

On the other hand, in the early 90s, Man Hang (Damien Lau) and Man Shek (Michael Miu) were involved in a fight over the ownership of a steel processing factory with Wong Cheng Kwok’s (Lau Kong) only son, Wong Siu Loeng (Power Chan), as Wong Cheng Kwok (Lau Kong) was about to die. But Man Hang (Damien Lau) felt that Siu Loeng (Power Chan) was incapable, and did not wish for the factory to be destroyed in Siu Loeng’s (Power Chan) hands, thus he got involved in a power struggle with the Wong family. But Man Shek (Michael Miu) looked upon Wong Cheng Kwok (Lau Kong) as his father, plus he promised him that he would help to look after the properties of the Wong family, thus he had no choice but to oppose his brother. In the end, Man Hang (Damien Lau) succeeded in chasing the Wong family out, and took full control of the steel processing factory, but fell out with Man Shek (Michael Miu) instead. As Man Shek (Michael Miu) felt that he owed the Wong family, and due to the return of Hong Kong, he decided to emigrate with his family to Canada, and broke off all ties with Man Hang (Damien Lau).

As 1997 closed in, although Man Hang (Damien Lau) had full control of the steel processing organization, the business was declining gradually. On the other hand, his son, Wah Zhen Pong (Raymond Lam), was doing well with the property business. Zhen Pong (Raymond Lam) and the shareholders coerced Man Hang (Damien Lau) to direct a huge amount of capital onto the investment of property development, and he had no choice but to agree. However, after the return of Hong Kong, the economic crisis hit, and the property business under Zhen Pong (Raymond Lam) collapsed, causing the steel processing organization to be affected as well, and finally all operations were terminated. Zhen Pong (Raymond Lam) became the wrath of all. Fortunately, the Wah family still had the car factory in China, thus Zhen Pong (Raymond Lam) made up his mind to return to China and manage the factory, hoping that he could make a comeback. Man Hang (Damien Lau) and Zhen Pong (Raymond Lam) fell out with each other, as Man Hang (Damien Lau) would rather be staying in Hong Kong to build up his business again.

Zhen Pong (Raymond Lam) was determined to earn profits for the car factory, but due to the difference in management style between China and Hong Kong, he had difficulties in managing it. But as everyone had the same aim, thus after coordination and hard work, Zhen Pong (Raymond Lam), Man Hung (Liu Ging Sang) and his son, Tin Zhen Man (Feng Shao Feng), were united to stop the losses. Later on, Zhen Pong (Raymond Lam) found out that his third uncle’s daughter, Ching Ling (Toby Leung), was actually an outstanding car designer, and persuaded her to return to help out, so that there would be bigger development. At the same time, Man Shek (Michael Miu) returned from Canada and patched up with Man Hang (Damien Lau). Man Hang (Damien Lau) witnessed how Zhen Pong (Raymond Lam) was putting in so much effort in managing the car factory, thus he decided to rope in Man Shek (Michael Miu) to start a business dealing with car parts, hoping that this would help in the future path of the car factory. Stepping into 2000, due to the 2 generations working hard together, a car of an independent brand was finally being invented successfully. Due to having the same dream, a family which used to be separated reunited to fulfill the dream together……

The business in the car factory was slowly going back on track, however the 2 heads in the factory, Zhen Pong (Raymond Lam) being in charge of the business management and Zhen Man (Feng Shao Feng) being in charge of sales and marketing, often clashed with their different ideas. In 2001, China entered into WTO, and the competition within the car industry finally came. Imported car brands were entering into China market, causing fierce competition. The external car factory which sold engines to the Wah’s car factory decided to stop their supply, causing problems in their production. This led them to realize that the engines are the soul of the cars, and it was extremely important to do the production of engines themselves. Actually, Man Hung (Liu Ging Sang) had already silently invented a car engine for the factory, and due to this crisis, the research program on this invention was forced to speed up. Zhen Pong (Raymond Lam) decided to produce the engines themselves to complement the second-generation of cars, but due to his impatience for success, it led to the factory facing bankruptcy. Zhen Man (Feng Shao Feng) left the factory due to the difference in ideas, and Man Hang (Damien Lau) passed away due to his illness, leading to Zhen Pong’s life (Raymond Lam) hitting the rock bottom……

In 2004, the car factory was in a bad state. Man Hung (Liu Ging Sang) used his elder status and encouraged Zhen Pong (Raymond Lam) to stand up again, and assist him to fulfill his grandfather’s wish. Zhen Pong (Raymond Lam) learnt from the painful experience, and went to Hong Kong to research on the listing of the car factory into the market, hoping that the production of second-generation cars would save the factory. Zhen Pong’s (Raymond Lam) undying spirit touched those people who once left him, and they returned to the factory and help out. After the factory got listed, their competitor made use of negative news and attacked the car factory, causing its share price to fall, and their second-generation cars being unable to surface into the market. Zhen Pong (Raymond Lam) and the others were even sued by investors, and more trouble came along…… On the other hand, Zhen Man (Feng Shao Feng), who left the factory, had successfully set up his own car marketing company, and seeing how Zhen Pong (Raymond Lam) fought hard to continue fulfilling his dream, he was touched and decided to put away past grudges, investing capital and manpower into the factory. Cooperating with Zhen Pong (Raymond Lam) again, both tried to solve all the problems……

The brothers unite to overcome all obstacles. From 20th century to 2007, the Wah family members have gone through many crisis, and finally reunite again, successfully establishing their own brand of cars, and fulfilled the older generation’s dream. Because they believe unity brings about success. With their cars, will they then be able to leave and drive towards a bright future……

Barbie and Vic together In the series [Tears of the Fruit] ?

The ratings for CTV’s idol drama [Corner with Love] are really high. Xiao Zhu, Da S, Chen Zhi Hai and Teng Gang Ding had a celebration yesterday. Xiao Zhu proudly announces that if the average rating is above 5 points, he will go bungee jumping wearing a pink superman outfit. Recently, Xiao Zhu is a spokesperson for a cellphone, and there are rumours that he asked the company to give him a pink cellphone to give to his rumoured girlfriend, Selina. Yesterday he cleared up the issue and said, “It is I who likes pink.”

Earlier, Chen Zhi Hai was seen to be having dinner with Tian Xin. Yesterday, he frankly said, “She is only my senior, we don’t even call each other.”

When Xiao Zhu was asked about the rumours between his friend Jolin Tsai and Pang Yu An, he seriously said, “After I come to understand, I can confirm that they are only friends.”

There are also rumours about Da S and Vic breaking up, and Vic has been super skinny. The producers said that it is because Vic cut his hair, and he lost some of the water from his body.

The ratings for [Corner With Love] is really good, so producer has decided to film a second part. But she says that she is currently focusing on the drama which is planned to start in July, as of now the drama’s name is [Tears of the Fruit], featuring F3. Regarding Jerry, she is still unsure whether or not he will be able to participate in the series. Recently, she has been troubled about who to choose for the girl lead. Nominees include: Da S. Crystal Liu, Angela Zhang, Gua Lun Yi...are all her choices. But she is worried that if Da S and Vic are together in a series, there will be many discussions about it, so she is still in the process of deciding.

[Tears of the Fruit] Da S with Vic??

Sonijia Kwok Denies Being Third Person

Sonijia Kwok Denies Being Third Person

Sonijia Kwok has been reported to be the third person in Michael Tao and his wife’s relationship and also causing them to end their marriage. The actress continued to attend public events yesterday and did not seem to be affected by the media. It was later found out that TVB executive, Virginia Lok, had earlier called Sonijia and comforted her by saying that she will not be ‘frozen’ for this incident. It is no wonder that Sonijia was confident when denying accusations and even joked by saying that she is willing to do community service to clean up her image.

Sonijia first attended an Easter function and when surrounded by reporters, the actress immediately said, “The first thing I would like to say is that I am not the third person, this incident had nothing to do with me. The second thing is that I have only found out about this two days ago when Michael called me and apologised for getting me involved in the break down of his marriage. The whole incident has nothing to do with me, so I am not in the right position to say anything. I am sad that they are ending their marriage, I will not comment and finally, this incident has nothing to do with me! (How do you feel being accused?) At first, I was not heated up when hearing about the reports because it is just entertainment news. It is enough that Michael stepped out and cleared up the things said about me. (Michael’s ex-wife called you the third person!) I don’t know what she said and I don’t know whether it is true or not. (Has Michael told you why his ex-wife said that?) No, he only said sorry. (Do you have any chances of developing a relationship with Michael?) It is not the time to say such things, he just divorced! (Since Michael is now single, will you be avoiding some things?) Being single is his business, it has nothing to do with me.”
