News : Ip Man 3

Actor-producer Raymond Wong and Donnie Yen recently dismissed rumours that have been going around regarding their supposed conflict that resulted in Donnie withdrawing from "Ip Man 3". According to HK Chanel, it was reported that Donnie had decided to withdraw from the third instalment as a respect and support to its director and long-time collaborator, Wilson Yip, who was reportedly replaced by Raymond's son and screenwriter, Edmond Wong as the director of the third movie. However, rumours now are rife that Donnie was actually sacked from the production after demanding to be paid HKD 50 million (approx. UD 6,445,400) to reprise his role as Ip Man again. To this, Raymond said, "This is not true. I don't pay him more than what other productions gives him. I've never questioned his price." The director also revealed that he is still interested to make the movie with Wilson and Donnie, although 2013 will not be the year for production, seeing that both director and actor are involved in many projects this year. Meanwhile, when asked regarding the conflict, Donnie said, "Raymond is my senior, and I respect him. Everybody in this world knows that Raymond has paid me a 'friendship' price, far lower than what [directors] Peter Lam, Albert Yeung, Stephen Shiu, and Alexander Wong have given me." When asked if he would reprise his role as Ip Man in this year or the next, Donnie stated that it's a decision that he has yet to confirm due to his hectic schedule.

News : TVB series Property Protector

Last night when Steven Ma was filming for TVB series Property Protector, he got hit in between his eyes by a flying fake gun that accidentally slipped out of his on-screen partner's hand. He started bleeding instantly. Producer Leung Choi Yuen sent Steven to the hospital immediately. Once Steven was treated, he was discharged and the producer helped him into the taxi to go home for rest. Steven will get back to filming as soon as his wound heals and his eye stops swelling. Reporters later contacted Steven for details, he frankly expressed the left side of his nose bridge had a bone fracture and because he had previously injured his left eye before, it is now swollen. He said: "Last night, my left nostril felt stuffed because I had a nose bleed before and there are some damage inside. At the time of the accident, I felt a little dizzy and sat there for a long time before my spirit came back. There really was a lot of blood gushing out Ten minutes later, I called my assistant to bring a mirror over. But that moment when the accident happened, I felt so sweet at heart because Tavia Yeung helped me wipe away my sweat and blood. Raymond Cho gave me a glass of water. They were so anxious." When asked who was the "culprit"? Steven frankly expressed it was not his partner's fault. "The scene was about my partner pointing the gun at me, then I kick the gun out of his hand with my right foot, and then he throws a punch at me. At the time, my kick was pretty powerful, his finger was still hooked on the gun and the gun ends up flying at me!" Steven gratefully said its fortunate his left eye was injured, otherwise if it was his right eye, he may have ended up blind. "Because when I was shooting A Change of Destiny in 2006, a horse kicked me in the eye and the retina in my right eye came loose. If the accident had happened on my right eye again, my retina can easily fall out and I'll definitely go blind then." As to when he'll be getting back to work, it depends on his condition in the next 5 days. Steven will need lots of rest and cannot move around too much. He has to be extra careful when sleeping at night: "I was going to attend Pastor Enoch Lam's show this Saturday, but this impacted my singing luck, I may not be able to do a singing performance and can just be there to support him." Steven posted a photo of his injury on Weibo and told everyone to relax, he joked: "The scar isn't that deep, its quite handsome actually!"

News : “Police Story 2013”

“Police Story 2013” will see Chan play a “very mature”, “steadfast” Chinese police officer, a departure from previous films in the series where he plays a Hong Kong cop. Chan’s character has to manage his relationship with his rebellious daughter (played by Chinese actress Jing Tian) even as he battles the villain of the piece (played by Chinese actor Liu Ye) over the course of the film. Chan described his role in the “highly dramatic” film as being “very different” from the relatively light-hearted ones he had previously played. “There will be no more funny faces,” said the actor. While Chan plays a serious police officer in “Police Story 2013”, he still retained his wry sense of humour in real life. When asked if he agreed Donnie Yen earns more per film than even he did, the film veteran said he agreed with that statement, but gave a rather unexpected reason for his answer. “Donnie Yen commands the highest actor fees,” said Chan with a laugh. “I’m actually sabotaging him, so nobody will approach him with film offers!” “Police Story 2013” is currently in post-production and scheduled for release in China on December 24.

Upcoming film “Police Story 2013”

SHANGHAI: Hong Kong action star Jackie Chan admitted that he has gone back on his words after his upcoming film “Police Story 2013” was revealed to be yet another action-heavy film, during a media conference in Shanghai on Monday, reported Chinese media. Chan had previously claimed that 2012’s “CZ12” would be his “last major action film”. The actor explained that “Police Story 2013” director Ding Sheng (whom he had worked with on “Little Big Soldier“) had misled him, as the original script Ding showed him did not call for Chan’s character to do any action scenes. “The script later changed, and as the story progressed, there were action scenes,” explained Chan, though he conceded that he still enjoyed shooting action scenes. “I still like to shoot action films, because there is this thrill and sense of superiority when you shoot a scene beautifully without wires. “Maybe I will announce again that this would be my last major action film. But what if people still approach me to do big action films?” “I think I will probably still do it,” said Chan with a sigh. “Why is it that no director comes to me for romance films?”

G-Dragon will release his second album

G-Dragon of Big Bang will release his second album on Aug. 18, which is his birthday, according to YG Entertainment yesterday. It has been four years since the artist unveiled his first album on the same day in 2009. G-Dragon has worked on writing, composing and producing the new album’s 10 songs. Missy Elliott has also contributed. “We have decided to work with just one big-name foreign artists work instead of inviting multiple people,” said Yang Hyun-suk, chief producer at YG. “There have been many ideas regarding male rappers, but YG wanted to have a female artist, and the answer was so simple and easy: Missy Elliott.” He explained that even hip-hop novices would know her music videos “Get Ur Freak On” and “Work It” on YouTube, as she is a legendary figure in the hip-hop industry and boasts numerous hit songs. “We have put a lot of effort into delivering information about G-Dragon’s music and career to the artist, and finally she showed her interest in working together,” Yang said. She had stopped making public appearances due to health issues. “That was why it was so hard to ask her to work with G-Dragon on a song,” Yang added. YG’s in-house producer Teddy composed songs and G-Dragon wrote lyrics and raps before delivering the work to Missy Elliott. She then added her own style to the song she received from YG. The melody and beat of Korean folk music has been included to add more character to the hip-hop genre. Meanwhile, G-Dragon will complete his solo world tour this week in Singapore after 25 shows. He will then focus on producing music videos for the upcoming album and designing the cover. “As most of the work for the second album was completed in September, when G-Dragon unveiled his EP, it feels like [I’m] opening a jewel box that was really well-hidden,” Yang said.

The actor was seen teaching and directing Katy on how to ride the bike, and performed a few tricks for her. However, when asked about the Sha Tin rendezvous, Katy denied that they were dating, saying that it was only a coincidence that they met at the same location. I don't want any opportunity to go to waste." Katy Kung is currently filming for the upcoming TVB drama, "Property Protector", alongside Steven Ma and Tavia Yeung.

Shanghai International Film Festival Golden Goblet Awards

Nick Cheung Ka Fai and the 10 year old Malaysian child star Crystal Lee with the film UNBEATABLE (GIK JIN) two nights ago won the Shanghai International Film Festival Golden Goblet Awards for Best Actor and Best Actress. One of the jury members Yu Nan revealed that Cheung Ka Fai received unanimous votes for Best Actor because his UNBEATABLE performance was particularly outstanding that it made people feel he was too good. Russian film THE MAJOR's lead actor gave strong competition but his image was not as clear cut as Cheung Ka Fai. He created an alternative heroic image. Thus 7 jury members voted unanimously for Cheung Ka Fai. As for Best Actress Crystal Lee, the jury was concerned about her age. However everyone still thought that the girl performed very well. In the end she also received the most votes to win Best Actress. Before the race Cheung Ka Fai was already rumored to win the Best Actor award firmly. Cheung Ka Fai said that aside from the event he would never believe any prediction or rumor; before the award was in his hands it was not his, everyone wanted to win. If he did not win, he would still work hard. He also said that he won without seeing UNBEATABLE, which gave him a shot of confidence. Before the award presentation he did not make any preparation, so on the stage he was a little nervous. He would be nervous about and cherish every award. As for the film UNBEATABLE, Ka Fai admitted that this film was the warmest in his career. He even said that he hoped to make a sequel to continue his story with Crystal Lee and have a real fight with Eddie Peng Yu-Yen. The youngest Golden Goblet Best Actress Crystal Lee in THE VIRAL FACTOR (YIK JIN) played Nicholas Tse Ting Fung's daughter and already made a splash. 2GETHER 4EVER world tour

Halfway through the second night of their 2GETHER 4EVER world tour on Sunday, S.H.E members Selina Jen and Ella Chen shouted their husbands' names lovingly, inspiring thunderous cheers from the audience. Agitated by her members' behaviour, singleton Hebe Tian jokingly exclaimed that she is 'not going to sing anymore' in the middle of their performance, bringing much laughter to the house. To mark S.H.E's first concert in 3 years, many special effects and pyrotechnics were used during the show. After the concert, Selina admitted that the loud sounds made by explosives sent chills down her spine as they reminded her of the filming accident in Shanghai. The strong-willed singer, however, tried her best to overcome her fear and put up a stunning performance. On the other hand, Ella, who was recently described by Taiwanese media as a 'soon-to-be auntie', proved the reports wrong by doing push-ups in her elaborate stage costume. At the end of the concert, Ella choked on tears and said, 'I've always felt like I'm the worst singer in the group.' 'Worried that I'd affect their singing because of that, I held the microphone far away from me yesterday,' she added, as the trio huddled together in tears after her confession.

The guest performers included Kelly Chen, Daniel Chan, Alex Fong, Stephy Tang, Edmond Leung and Miriam Yeung. She immediately raised her head and covered her mouth, but continued the performance. Later, Kelly's manager admitted she did get "attacked", she had a small scrape on her lip and a little blood. Daniel's manager explained the two were dancing too close to one another. Apologies for the accident and hope Kelly is fine. During Daniel's solo part, he was dressed in a fish-net top showing off his muscles. He disclosed he has been working out just for this performance. When Daniel went to shake hands, one fan didn't want to let go and kept pulling on him. Miriam was on stage constantly fidgeting with her dress, she laughed and said after having a baby, she has had a lot of clear cuts. Alex and his girlfriend Stephy Tang appeared at the concert. Mark introduced them on stage with: "The most hit duets in history because their duets had real feelings. Once they come out, they are as happy as newly weds." Fans cheered: "Get marry!" Alex came out thanking fans: "This pairing has left such a deep impression on audience, we can even be a married couple later." Stephy said: "We already done that before." Alex said dating for 7 years is a long time, but Stephy suddenly asked him if he had the 7 year itch? He said anxiously: "So far so good." Stephy took advantage and started whining: "Actually we don't get to see one another often because we're working in two different places." Asked if the couple had plans for marriage? Alex stuttered and expressed he does not have plans yet, leave it to fate. Stephy said: "Perhaps he won't be proposing to me. Just wait until I have kids, then we'll plan for marriage."

Cheung Ka Fai originally was working on a movie in Malaysia, but yesterday he rushed to Shanghai to attend the film festival. In the game, Wa Jai saw a female contestant with her hands tied with rope. He actually used his mouth to untie it like a gentleman. Wa Jai and Sammi during the interview talked about the tango around the piano scene. They trained two months before the shoot, but the choreography was not exaggerated enough. Thus they made many last minute changes, which were what they felt was the most difficult. However they believed that it would bring out a comedic effect. They also had confidence in the box office. News : TVB's The Voice 4

TVB's The Voice 4 celebrity version recorded its second episode last night. New contestants included Becky Lee and Aaryn Cheung; Oscar Leung, Fred Cheng, Stanley Cheung and Benjamin Yuen were back for round two. Becky performed the musical song Think of Me. Her singing skills startled everyone, even veteran singer Sally Yeh modestly expressed she isn't qualified to judge her. During Becky's performance, the stage released smoke to accompany her singing. Eric Woo immediately bashed TVB: "Save the smoke! The temperature can really impact the singing!" After episode one, Fred Cheng came into the second round with the highest score. In this episode, he dedicated the English song Angels to his late grandfather. He said in tears: "When my grandfather passed away, I wasn't able to see him for the last time." Eric Woo instantly invited him to be a guest performer at his concert: "If I was the boss of TVB, I would definitely start a business and make you a singer." Oscar didn't have the singing skills, and was on the verge of getting eliminated. He later expressed he knows he has a problem with his rhythm and does not mind the criticisms. Benjamin Yuen performed the Mandarin song How Many Small Loves Can Return (有多少愛可以重來), which got the lowest score of the night. The judges including Eric Kwok, Eric Woo and Sally Yeh encouraged Benjamin to just go back to acting. Eric Kwok said: "Last episode, I told you to be an actor, don't be a singer. This episode, I'm telling you don't waste your time. Your singing sounds like you're going through execution. Go back to acting!" S.H.E concert in Taipei

The members of S.H.E are working hard to get back in shape for their upcoming June concert in Taipei, which will be the group's comeback stage after their last world tour in 2010. At rehearsals yesterday, member Ella Chen shared that she has been actively doing aerobic exercises to build up her stamina. “My body fat percentage has dropped to 18 in the past month. Jokes aside, Hebe let on that there would not any special guests at their concert this time round, as they “cannot even finish singing their own songs” and Selina promised that “everyone will cry buckets during the show”. The ladies, along with a couple of mutual friends, showed up at Ella's place early in the morning that day and made the birthday girl turn red with embarrassment as she greeted her impromptu visitors in pajamas. Ella, who turned 32 yesterday, revealed that her doting husband bought her several birthday presents, including a necklace, flowers and chocolates, way before the actual day. The trio is set to kickstart their 2GETHER 4EVER world tour at Taipei Arena on June 22, before bringing the show to Singapore Indoor Stadium on October 26.

News : The 9th Widow

Li Dong Xue who was the cast of ‘Legend of Concubine Zhen Huan’, plays a saddening yet beautiful lover couple with Michelle Ye, where both were in love yet unable to be together, torturing both Wang Putao and Sun Shaoyong. There were rumors earlier on that both were so absorbed in the characters and were even photographed to be holding hands intimately. During the press conference, under the bombards of questions from the reporters, Michelle Ye could not help smiling: “I really do like Li Dong Xue, really, really like, personally we are very good friends. I definitely… was deeply in love with him. Are you satisfied with this answer?” However, Michelle Ye’s attitude which was too open led to more doubts instead. Is this a dialogue from the series or a sincere confession? To this, Michelle said again: “I have sincerely answered once, I definitely was deeply in love with him before. I still do love him now, in all aspects; Him, I don’t know, he knows I like him, I think he likes me too, love in all aspects too!” Michelle Ye who is 33 this year does sound being in sweet love. When asked which aspect of Li Dong Xue she loves most, Michelle smiled: “Handsome!”

News : The 9th Widow

During the conference, Liu Peiqi announced, “This is a series of revolution, which is edited from Yan Geling’s work, a conventional awareness towards revolution, and we are the first of the firsts.” ‘The 9th Widow’ is a tale about how Wang Putao faces the chaos of wartime, natural disaster, with much determination and wisdom, a feminine legendary of the wartime era. Michelle Ye plays Wang Putao, whose relationship is full of challenges. She is not able to be with her first love, while her husband is murdered on the night of her wedding. She also is heartbroken when her much respected father-in-law is shot to ‘death’ as a betrayer. Michelle revealed: “Although it is about the relationship of a father-in-law and his son’s wife, there is not the slightest negative affair involved.” The series also incorporated elements that the youngsters preferred: “For example brighter and more colorful scenes, a sweet love relationship which becomes saddening, those were added for more appeal.” Michelle Ye expressed: “Although the story is based on the timeline where we are fighting the Japanese invasion, the costumes, make up and artistic elements were handled by a crew who were recognized by the Golden Horse Awards. We were able to film a heroic and appealing film based on such a conventional storyline. Michelle Ye who transformed from an actress towards becoming a producer, smiled saying she is already on track: “I still have much more dreams as a producer, there is still much to work for.” She also said, it is still more profitable for her to be an actress, as her route as a producer is still in the very elementary stage, and is merely for her educational purposes.

News : Miss Hong Kong 2013

Miss Hong Kong 2013 steps into its 41st anniversary. This year the slogan is: "Beyond Imaginations". Yesterday at the first round of auditions, the quality of the candidates were indeed "beyond imaginations". Aside from 10 candidates who were barely considered beautiful, the others were "heavy flavor". The first audition had a total of 129 candidates, but the actual ones who had passing looks were only a handful; the quality was definitely not good, the majority were considered "weird" looking. The most eye-catching was "Pirated Laurinda Ho" (Jenny), she had a sweet look and her black dress made her look generous and refined. Coming back from Germany, Sisley, had a gracious smile. She looked a bit like Karena Ng and had on a transparent black top, revealing her black bra. Sisley allowed reporters to take pictures of her back. She smiled sweetly: "My face isn't pretty?" Because she won the "sexy BB" title, she and some of the candidates chatted nonstop while taking the MTR after the auditions. Dressed in a pink dress, "Big Breast Tracy Chu" (Lau Wan Hing) openly allowed the media take pictures of her while she bent over to get into the car. "Black Girl Myolie Wu" (Zoe) showed off her career line in a low-cut dress. She turned left and right for pictures and didn't get upset; she looked very confident. "Red Hair" Rebecca gave off a Korean feeling, extremely eye-catching. 24 year old former TVB news reporter Kathleen (in the blue tube top dress) also participated in the audition. She said: "I quit my job just to participate in this contest. I want to challenge myself!"

Sammi Cheng and Andy hui on Pajamas

Sammi Cheng Sau Man and Andy Hui Chi On's pajamas photo yesterday appeared online. A facebook account posted their parody photo. They wore pajamas with the caption "Mr. and Mrs. Hui", leading to fans guessing that Sammi wanted to announce good news with On Jai with it. Everyone left message to congratulate "Mr. and Mrs. Hui". Yet, the photo was a PS photo for the film BLIND DETECTIVE (MAN TAM)'s promotional poster, with Hui Chi On's head in place of Andy Lau Tak Wa's. To prevent fans from thinking it was real, at night Sammi clarified that someone impersonated her and sent out this photo. She hoped fans would be nice and not to take a joke too far. She said, "Neither the photo nor the words came from me personally, they came from impostors. I know that they don't have any bad intention, but they have to be nice and not to take a joke too far. I have always only have one official facebook and Weibo account."

News : SWITCH

The Andy Lau Tak Wa and Lin Chiling starred film SWITCH (TIN GEI FU CHUN SHAN GUI TOH) opened in the Mainland with 46 million RMB to be the single day box office champion, but its word of mouth was not in proportion. With big stars, foreign locations and three years in production as its draw, the 3D special agent film in the end was rated as challenging the "rotten film" bottom line. Some viewers demanded refunds and even jokingly demanded mental anguish compensation, most of the reviews were negative. Many online reviews are about SWITCH. Some said that aside from the beautiful shots and scenery, the story had no plot to speak of. The product placement advertising situation was severe, some even said that the film was covered with ads. "It's not product placement in the film, it's film placement in advertising." Some also said that the film had all the elements and called it a "god film" with horror, comedy, action, science fiction and heist, as well as S and M, Oedipal complex, with help from magic, acrobatics and artistic gymnastics; in the end it was a complete mess with confusing character relationships. Someone said, "Sister Chiling suddenly appears and suddenly disappears. Lau Tak Wa appears, then disappears too! Zhang Jingchu suddenly becomes a superwoman, suddenly they cry and the audience laugh. The fight scene climax shakes the audience, because everyone laugh." However, some also praised this film as a beauty pageant program, with beauties in different costumes and "career lines". Director Jay Sun Jianjun was very accepting of online criticism and even wrote that he wanted to be a great host. When he was little he was poor but he would cook a catty of eggs that took a month to come by for guests. This time was no exception; as a Chinese film chef he felt only by using shark fin like cellophane noodles he was able to answer for the expensive ticket prices. He even asked viewers to forgive his shortcoming!

News : SO YOUNG

The Vicki Zhao Wei directing debut SO YOUNG made 700 million RMB in the Mainland. Friends who lent a hand of course deserved some credit. Aside from Faye Wong's singing, Stanley Kwan Kam Peng produced. Zhao Wei did not let the high box office go to her head. She was determined to "quit while she was ahead" and stated that she would not randomly direct again. She first would return to her acting job and participate in Kwan Kam Peng's new film. Zhao Wei said that SO YOUNG's preparation and production took a very long time, it absolutely was a sincere film. Thus she expected a good performance long ago. However she only estimated a box office of 300 million and never expected the performance to double that. "For my directing debut I felt a lot of pressure in each aspect. Kwan Kam Peng gave me a lot of confidence. He not only provided opinions on quality and art, but also supported me on remaking a scene without paying any attention to commercial elements. From him I learned that in order to make a good movie I had to be ruthless." Kwan Kam Peng explained that being ruthless meant when the film went over the budget he kept on asking the boss for money, but Zhao Wei was the one who was paying. As for Yang Zishan being said to have shades of Little Shadow, Zhao Wei agreed, "The novelist Xin Yiwu liked me very much. When the story was written it was written according to my feeling. Thus the investors originally wanted me to perform. If I play my first love now, viewers can't accept that. Thus I would rather find very young new actors who are right for the characters. The lead actress originally was a relative unknown, now she is famous." Speaking of the actor complimenting her on her good temper, Zhao Wei said, "Did they change their mind again? The box office performance was good so they came out as a group to say the director was good. On the first day at the Beijing press conference they just said that I was too mean. Actually truly treating everyone well was Kwan Kam Peng. Every time after I yelled at them, they would run to him for comfort." Kwan Kam Peng praised Zhao Wei's high ability to comprehend. He admitted that at first he was biased about Zhao Wei. Later he saw how serious she was about the production and not a female star messing around with filmmaking. "At least I didn't see her directing with a female star arrogance. Overall I give Zhao Wei a score of over 90."

News : Gilded Chopsticks

Wong Cho Lam, Jack Wu, Nancy Wu, and May Chan were doing location filming for the new series "Gilded Chopsticks" in Pak Sha Chau, Sai Kung, the other day. The storyline was about Cho Lam and Nancy at the pier, preparing to take a boat to depart, but were chased down by officers. Jack and May went to warn them and obstruct the officers. In the end, Jack gets kicked into the water in order to protect master Cho Lam. On the other hand, the ratings of "Beauty at War" suffered a crushing defeat earlier. Cho Lam previously achieved good results with "Inbound Troubles", so it is inevitable that the company has placed high hopes for the new series "Gilded Chopsticks"; however, Cho Lam does not pay much attention to it...would only do his best. He frankly said that ratings cannot be controlled, and would not have additional pressure because of the good results earlier. "Like Wayne Lai said, ratings are affected by many things. As an actor, can only do one's best. As for feedback and ratings, already go beyond the scope in which actors are able to control". He continued saying that the storyline of "Gilded" this time is exciting and compact. Has not been able to add too much of his own creativity like in "Inbound"...could only add some funny elements within limits. "Actually also worried because the promotional clip earlier made people mistake it for a comedy; however, this series is actually like the male version of 'War and Beauty'. Hope that the company corrects it when promoting it...afraid that it would affect the ratings".

Hong Kong Ballet fund

Carina Lau Ka Ling and Bernice Liu Bik Yi were among the attendees of a Hong Kong Ballet fund raiser last night. She said that she had dance experience, but because she was born in the Mainland she was unable to study ballet. Thus in the future when she would have a chance she hoped for her daughter to study ballet and music instruments. Ka Ling said, "I have to perform the Tango in the new film, I have been working very hard on lessons and danced pretty well. (Have you asked your husband Tony Leung Chiu Wai to be your partner?) He indeed dances well because earlier in HAPPY TOGETHER (CHUN GUONG JA SIT) he danced with (Leslie) Cheung Kwok Wing. When we were dating we would dance as well. I thought it was very romantic." Recently Ka Ling has been rumored to have a child through a surrogate. She denied the rumor and said that she wanted to have her own child. "I wouldn't judge others with my own values or life attitude. We are very happy, with or without children. With the technological advancements now it can absolutely be done. (Would you consider artificial insemination?) No! We don't have to have one, now we are very happy too. Actually I am not too patient, I can play with Li Yan for a little then I am fine. If you act up then it's hard to say." Ka Ling admitted that she enjoyed the life of two and even learned to enjoy her alone time. She would deliberately think about "making babies".

Hong Kong star Gigi Leung said she is not in a rush to be a mother as she already has three pets, consisting of two kittens and one puppy to take care of. Speaking at a drawing contest in Hong Kong, the 37-year-old singer shared that she doesn't mind being an old-aged mother, adding that the risk of being pregnant at an older age is low due to the advancement in medical technology. However, Leung revealed that she is currently consuming Chinese medicine as a preparation for pregnancy. She also shared some taboos on pregnancy with the media. I'll just let nature take its course," she added.

News : Slow Boat Home

"Slow Boat Home" actor Raymond Wong shares Sheren Tang's recent woes about the piecemeal scripts in TVB, but expressed that it is a sad truth that all TVB artistes should have already accepted. As reported on Jayne Stars, the actor stated, "TVB's system of handing scripts to their artistes at the last minute is a problem that could eventually result in bad acting, but this has been an issue for a long time." Raymond expressed that life as a TVB actor is never easy, as not only do they have to memorize long scripts, they are also lacking in rest and sleep, resulting in mood disorders. In the end, the end product is a bad and tired performance on television. But he added, "It has always been like this in TVB. It is indeed hard work. So if you want a more comfortable life and capable of doing so, then head to China! You can even get a good eight hours of sleep every night. If you want to stay [in TVB], then you can only accept the system." The actor also hinted that with the birth of his baby, his financial burden has increased, thus taking up mainland projects is a better prospect. "But I also intend to take a break after every 5 months of filming so that I can spend more time with my family. Eventually we need to find a balance in life. Work should not take up our whole life. Our family should be the most important."

Latest series Slow Boat Home

TVB's latest series Slow Boat Home is set in Cheung Chau. Cilla grew up in Tai O, she expressed returning to the outlying islands instantly gave her the feeling of "home". She said: "Although I didn't have that many scenes in Cheung Chau, I still get a close feeling when I go to Cheung Chau." Cilla portrays a young woman named Yoyo in the series, sometimes she's a well-behaved girl; sometimes she's a party girl; and other times she's a barbaric HK girl. Asked if Cilla is really a barbaric HK girl in real life? She said: "I'm not considered one, but I'm a little headstrong. Perhaps because my family had always been overprotective of me, so I'm really dependent and throw tantrums, but I really won't have 'princess illness' like I do in the series. I'm not as exaggerated as her, needing someone to do everything for her." Since Yes Sir, Sorry Sir, Cilla has been crowned as the "HK Golden Goddess" and coincidentally she frequently plays a goddess with several guys around her. Is it because portrays her roles too well? But Cilla is frequently misunderstood that she has just as many guys circling her in real life. Cilla said helplessly: "Actually that is not the case. I think its strange too, the media always say I'm everyone loves me, but the truth is I have nothing! Actually I'm worried too, how the audience thinks of me I won't feel unhappy, but I still want to clear my name." Cilla explained she has a broad-minded personality, she doesn't pay attention to details and is straightforward, that's why she likes to hang out with guys more.

Victor Wong became a first-time father

Victor Wong became a first-time father after his wife gave birth to their son Jayden on May 31. Last Friday, his wife gave birth to a 3kg baby via cesarean section ahead of her estimated due date in June. Victor accompanied his wife in the delivery room and recorded the entire delivery process. The 41-year-old revealed that his wife requested for him to sing his song ‘Unopened Gift' while she was giving birth as the song signified that their child is the best gift that they can ever receive. Victor recalled that he was moved to tears when he heard Jayden's first cry. He added that he was so amazed when his son grabbed his finger tightly and immediately stopped crying when he carried him. The blissful father said, “I feel really thankful. I hope that Jayden will not let go of his dad's hands too early.” The singer also revealed that he would sing ‘Unopened Gift' whenever he feeds his son or coaxes him to sleep because his son enjoys his singing. The Malaysian singer married his longtime girlfriend Jennifer in January last year and announced his wife's pregnancy in December the same year.

The Unbelievable programme

iCable's paranormal programme, "The Unbelievable" has infuriated several veteran celebrities after they revealed their decision to revamp the show and set up a ghostly wedding for deceased '80s star, Barbara Yung and Paul Chung. As reported on Jayne Stars, at an iCable promotional event recently, the host of "The Unbelievable", Spencer Leung shared that a new segment will be introduced in the programme in August and revealed, "It's the management's idea. We had looked into arranging a wedding for Paul Chung and [co-host] Ah Mong or Barbara Yung and I." Spencer also revealed that they have played with the idea of arranging weddings for late singers, Leslie Cheung and Anita Mui, but the idea has been put on hold in order not to anger the fans. When asked if the idea of a ghostly wedding is too far-fetched, Spencer revealed that they will seek the approval of the family members first and will not insist on carrying out the wedding if the family members are against the idea. However, the news angered not only fans of the late singers, but their colleagues as well. Actor Kent Tong, who dated Barbara before her suicide, lashed out, "Ghost weddings are not real and are just superstitious gimmick! [Spencer and Barbara] don't even know each other. In any case, she has passed on so we need to respect her family." When asked if he has ever thought of having a ghost wedding with Barbara, the twice-divorced Kent said that he has never thought of the idea. Meanwhile, Barbara's former co-star, Michael Miu stressed, "Of course it shouldn't be done! It's disrespectful to use a deceased person for the programme."

千奇百趣玩 FREE D

Last night, Kenneth Ma, Lin Xia Wei, Selena Li, and Ngo Ka Nin were in TVB City doing a recording for the programme 《千奇百趣玩 FREE D》, hosted by Sammy Leung and Kitty Yuen. Kenneth laughingly said that, because the difficulty level of this programme is lower than "Super Trio", he has played it a number of times. He also said that his reactions are not very quick; if he were to go on "Super Trio", would ruin the atmosphere. Recently, many artistes have been going up north to make money. When asked whether he would have an opportunity to go to Mainland to film series, Kenneth expressed not knowing...must wait for the company to make the arrangements. He groaned about being so busy that he has not had the time to go up north to make money. Because of schedule problems, within the past two or three years, had to turn down six to seven Mainland series. When asked whether it hurt to make much less, he unexpectedly said open-mindedly, "Cannot say it like that. If it's yours, it's yours. May also encounter good roles in Hong Kong. When one's position is higher, there is naturally more money. Like Wayne Lai, who also has not returned [to Mainland] to film series, income is already enough with just accepting advertisements!" He can only look at it as being related to timing and one's destiny.

New store opening of JUST GOLD

Yesterday Niki Chow attended the new store opening of JUST GOLD. It was announced Niki is the company's spokesperson of greater China. The event organizers hired magician Louis Fan, whom Linda Chung previously played a practical joke on, to perform a magic trick with Niki. He magically made the jewelry and clothes on the poster with Niki in it disappeared. Niki laughed: "Don't take it out to show everyone, I can't even show myself in a bikini." Niki expressed the organizers arranged her outfit, she said: "I don't need to show my body shape, I've always had a normal girl figure and I accept it." When speaking of Just Gold giving her lots of golden jewelries? She said: "I hope I find my Mr. Right soon, and fulfill everyone's wish. I'm working hard on giving others a chance." She frankly expressed she's been going out on dates with a pursuer, "Some may have feelings for me and although I don't have the same feelings yet, I won't be as picky as I used to." She enjoys the single life and the feeling of having pursuers, but she's not in a rush to get married. "I really like children. I may end up having a child before getting married. (You want a son and not a husband?) I'm not that crazy, like borrowing a man's sperm. I want a husband to take care of the baby with me, then that would be perfect." Niki's new TVB series A Change of Heart's premiere averaged at 24 points? She happily said: "The series has good discussions going on. I have a lot of kiss scenes with Bosco Wong this time, the most I've ever had in a series. I also have a kiss scene with Michael Miu. There is one intense and passionate scene with Bosco, but I'm not sure if the scene is going to get cut or not." She expressed when she first got the script, there were too many daring and intense scenes, but adjustments were later made to the script to reduce the amount.

Hong Kong Green Day event

Yesterday Charmaine Sheh attended the Hong Kong Green Day event. At the event, Charmaine denied joining Eric Tsang's artist management company. Her previous meeting with Eric had nothing to do with contracts. Asked if he invited her to be in his TV series? Charmaine said: "He did before. The earliest I could come back for a TVB series is next year." Is TVB asking her to come back to rescue them? Charmaine didn't understand the question, but when she learned Beauty At War did poorly, she had a huge reaction: "Are you kidding?! I watched it, but I'm not pertinent enough because I've seen the script before and didn't think it was difficult to understand. I'm a loyal fan of Jonathan Chik and Chow Yuk Ming. No matter how bad the ratings are, I still think its a good series." Does Charmaine feel lucky she wasn't part of the series? She said there is no relation. Beginning 2014, TVB hopes to give their artists at least 8 hours of rest time and 80% of the completed script prior to the start of filming. Charmaine said: "Many series has a script before filming starts. I'm happy to hear about the 8 hour rest time! Rest time is very important to an artist because not enough rest will affect the performance and that isn't fair to the audience." Although many artists are leaving TVB to earn the "real money" in Mainland, Charmaine believes TVB has their own method to keep artists, such as giving pay raises.

Eric Tsang and Kenny Wee got into a dispute

December 5th of 2012, Eric Tsang and Suki Tsui's husband Kenny Wee got into a dispute at a friend's wedding reception. Kenny called the police and claimed someone slapped him and Eric was accused of common assault and criminal intimidation. He was once under arrest for investigation and had to report back to the police department periodically. After 6 months, the case was finally settled yesterday. Eric was released unconditionally. Yesterday Eric was at the police station to finish up the paperwork. He said: "Thank you all for the support and concern. The case is settled." Reporters contacted Kenny Wee, he replied expressing he didn't know what was going on and has no comment. After the 'slapping' incident at the wedding, Eric did not respond positively. He publicly said there was a mad dog randomly barking and disturbing the residents. This worsen the situation. On December 19th, there was new development on the slapping case, the police charged Eric for "common assault" and "criminal intimidation". Eric has very good relationships in the industry, many supported him. Oscar Leung was sued for libel because he supported Eric by criticizing Kenny Wee. Fortunately, TVB backed him up. Suki Tsui and Eric Tsang were initially friends, but because she had to support her husband, it was rumored she was "isolated" and lost a lot of job opportunities. As for Eric, he had been reporting back to the police station for 6 months, but that didn't affect him at all. He still threw a high-profile party to celebrate his 60th birthday earlier in April. Now that the case is officially settled, Eric and everyone concerned about him are relieved.
