Faye Wong 2010 Concert Tour

Faye Wong 2010 Concert Tour began last night in Beijing's Wukesong Culture and Sports Center. Stepping on stage after a five year absence, she attracted many die-hard fans, as well as good friends Carina Lau, Zhao Wei and Barbie Hsu, who came to show their support. Aside from performing five shows each in Beijing and Shanghai, and three shows next January in Taipei Arena, the organizers announced yesterday that Faye will be adding shows in Hong Kong next March.

At 41 years old, Faye's charm has only increased with her age. Her stage setting for the show cost an estimated 30 million. Following the theme of her concert, her songs were divided into five different segments to represent the passing of the four seasons as she approaches her rebirth. From the brisk coolness of winter, the songs progressed into spring, summer, and fall, before finally reaching her rebirth.

Starting off the show with the melting of an ice age, Faye appeared onstage ready to break free from the cold as she sang with a crystal microphone stand which cost thousands of dollars. Faye's outfit was pure white and she wore a hat which resembled a nun. She sang her first song 'Lotus in the Snow' as snowflakes began blowing across the stage.

After the long winter, spring finally arrives. As Faye reappears with an outfit change, the screens behind her fill with images of butterflies. With nine screens in the background, each of them could be controlled individually to paint different pictures for the audience. Wong Kar Wai also took part in the production and shot footage of the 'Flowers of Paradise' (one of her song titles). The footage allowed the audience to explore different parts of the imagination and also gave them a glimpse into Faye's inner world. Many special effects were used in her concert, including 3D technology and lasers. Faye also sits on a swing which carries her high above the stage. Known for speaking little in public, Faye only said 'thank you' throughout her concert. For the two hours she was on stage, she sang a total of 23 songs, with no encore at the end.

Manager Katie Chan officially announced yesterday that Faye will be holding a series of concerts next March in Hong Kong. While the number of shows have not been confirmed, it will not exceed 10 shows. Katie Chan also revealed that they originally did not plan to hold concerts in Hong Kong, but after taking into consideration the Hong Kong fans, Faye agreed to the shows. Faye's Beijing ticket prices have rocketed upwards to the thousands. When tickets for her Hong Kong show go on sale in mid-December, there's no doubt it will be the same.

47th annual Golden Horse Awards

The 47th annual Golden Horse Awards ceremony will take place on November 20th. Hosts Dee Hsu and Kevin Tsai were filming the CF for it several days ago.

To make it special, they especially invited a special effects makeup artist to help them turn into Na’vis (Avatar). On the day of the shoot, it took four hours to complete their makeup. Dee laughed, “I think the Golden Horse is making us suffer first and then experience joy after.”

Since the Na’vis have a rather distinctive look, Dee and Kevin had to go through lifecasting – getting a mold of their faces. During the molding process, Dee kept waving her arms for help as she was barely able to breathe. She commented afterwards, “It feels like I was getting buried alive. I now understand the feeling of the moment before death.” Kevin expressed, “My head felt really heavy and uncomfortable. It felt as if I was wearing a iron mask!”

Dee showed her daughter a photo of herself in the lifecast after she got home, but her daughter was so scared that she immediately said, “Mom, you look like a mummy, so scary!”

The two hosts were definitely the center of attention during the CF shoot. Dee complimented Kevin for looking the most educated Na’vi. Kevin also praised Dee, “Although you’re in all this Na’vi makeup, it still can’t cover up your great body!” But Dee teased Kevin, “Seeing Kang Yong Ge (Kevin) wear tight fitting clothes today, I finally understand why he always insist on wearing shirts and suits on the show!”

Perfect Wedding held a celebration

The day before, Raymond Lam and Miriam Yeung's film Perfect Wedding held a celebration. Slightly drunk, the film's executive producer Lawrence Wong asked the media to help the new upcoming film I Love Hong Kong come up with another title because the film title is too authentic and not suitable for foreign markets. He also reveals that the director for the film, Eric Tsang called him a few days ago and told him that he's resigning from the film because his boss (Mona Fong) didn't like the village theme, the script isn't funny enough and isn't attractive enough.

He said: "Boss said the theme of the film is not attractive enough, at least it didn't attract her. Eric and I insisted that we shoot it, we might just start shooting it anyway. Eric felt that if the movie does well, then we'll be shaving the boss's eyebrows, but if it doesn't do well then it's shameful to us." Lawrence felt that a lot can happen in the village, there is a sense of attraction, so he wrote an email to Eric telling him that everything is confirmed already and the release date had already been scheduled, if they don't shoot it, they will lose a lot. In the end, both sides came to an agreement and Eric decided to continue as planned.

Lawrence also exposed that he already failed once, asked if it was on The Jade and the Pearl? He admitted and said the script was fine, but he did not indicate if the film was going to shoot or not because at the time there was a third person (EEG) who was investing in the film too, EEG said to shoot it, he respected their decision. Lawrence said: "I am not saying Ng Yue (EEG executive) idea was a failure. It's we underestimated Raymond Lam's firm standing in the film scene. But, Raymond did very well in Perfect Wedding."

AKB48's 18th single, "Beginner"

Sports Hochi reports that AKB48's 18th single, "Beginner," will have an initial shipment of 1.03 million copies for its release on October 27. Although not likely, this gives it the opportunity to sell one million copies in its first week, which has not happened since Hikaru Utada's 1999 hit "Addicted To You."

This is a record initial shipment for AKB48. In addition to the group's expanding popularity, "Beginner" has also been attracting a lot of attention because of its controversial music video. Directed by Tetsuya Nakashima ("Kokuhaku", "Kamikaze Girls"), the video had to be edited for television due to its theme of violence. As a result, it was recently decided that the unedited version will only be available through the mobile download service Recochoku.

AKB48's sales have been very strong so far this year. Their last two singles consecutively sold more than half a million copies in the first week, making them only the third female artist to achieve that (the other two are Hikaru Utada and Ayumi Hamasaki).

Early sales indicators are positive. According to the PR office of music store Tower Records, reservations for "Beginner" surpassed AKB48's previous single "Heavy Rotation," even though the reservation period this time was shorter.

Charlene Choi's MV recently released

Filming Charlene Choi's (煞有介事) MV from her recently released Cantonese EP, wearing large glasses, personifying a dorky office lady, and using exagerrated movements and facial expressions to increase the comedic touch, Ah Sa was praised by the MV director as being the reflection of "Plain Jane" and being able to develop towards the direction of a Comedy Queen. The message of the song (煞有介事) is that in this world, there are too many standards created by society regarding how people should be. Rather than acting to fit into the standards of others, simply be who you naturally are. In the MV, all the beautiful female coworkers in the office are crazy about the male boss, but he is only denied by Ah Sa. Finally, Ah Sa is unable to bear with her boss' idiotic annoyances and gives him an earful before elegantly but unconventionally leaving with a runway walk!

Even though Ah Sa was to dress as a dorky office lady, she personally matched her outfit, modeling clothes of a conventional but fashionable office lady. Although she had initially wanted to make a foolish and silly young girl look, who would have expected that staff members unexpectedly praised her as being adorable. Never having worked an office job before, Ah Sa laughed and pointed out that it was extremely fun to portray this character. However, she personally says she is restless and if she were to work in an office, she would definitely mess around and get others to play around.

According to a Taiwanese entertainment news channel, the popular girl group was speculated to have lip-sung during their second live concert in Taiwan on the 17-18th. The Taiwan Taipei Arena was jam-packed with 24,000 fans, demonstrating yet again how popular the nine-membered group is overseas.

The entertainment media source reported that although the music and members' voices continued to stream out of the speakers, when the cameras zoomed in on each of their faces, you could see that some of the girls weren't even bothering to lift up and sing into their mics.

The girls of Girls Generation don't have to worry too much though. It appears that they had fans that were more than understanding. Some expressed, "it's hard to sing and dance live" and "I doubt they were really lip-syncing!". Of course there were?a bunch that were on the more critical side, saying "what a waste of money" and "why go see them in concert when you can hear the exact same thing on their CDs".

As for domestic fans in Korea, they can look forward to the group's comeback on October 29th.

New series "King of Thousand Phoenixes"

There are many rumors about Jessica Hsuan and Myolie Wu don't get along during shooting new series "King of Thousand Phoenixes" (direct translation). But this time when reporters paid a visit to the set, the two actresses were very friendly to each other. Before official shooting, they would discuss about their hair accessories, scripts, and make up. When they were shooting a quarrel scene, they finished the scene with one take, only spending 40 minutes [including shots at different angle etc, not only one angle]. After shooting, they went to enjoy dinner at canteen and kept talking about cats and dogs. There's definitely no signs of them having grudge against each other.

As for these negative rumors, Jessica told reporters: "In the past, 2% of some rumors are true, but this time is 100% false. In fact we get along very well. Plus we are inexperienced in shooting this type of drama [Qing dynasty]. I'm like a newcomer, always have to ask opinions from director, Sunny Chan, and others, afraid I can't do well." Myolie added: "I have zero confidence, because it's different from shooting modern series, which is natural and comfortable. Jessica and I always ask each other is it OK? We give confidence to each other. Rumors of us not getting along? Maybe we don't have romance rumors. It's either not getting along or loving partner in the series!" Jessica has boyfriend Ruan, and Myolie has stable rumored boyfriend Bosco Wong, it's hard to believe new romance rumors about them!

The night before, Wayne, Susan Tse, Evergreen Mak and other cast members from the series were arranged to take part in Super Trio Game Master. TVB seems to have high expectations for No Regrets, not letting anything go wrong.

Wayne was asked if the No Regrets momentum is strong? He modestly said: "It's a good thing, the promotion clips were done very well. Of course good production will have good promotional clips. Actually this time on we're on Super Trio is because there is only 1 or 2 episodes left in the show, they wanted the No Regrets cast to go on the show and play. (Full of confidence for TV King?) It is most important that the series is a success, it's a big deal to my personal honor. After all, this series is guaranteed by reputation, so if it doesn't do well, then money back!"

Susan said that many friends is highly anticipating No Regrets, she personally hopes that it will do better than Rosy Business and won't disappoint the audience: "This time, it's an original story, no plagiarisms involved, will be a good attraction for audience."

Jacky Cheung Half Century Concert

Jacky Cheung will kick off his concert at the end of the year with a 50 city tour in mainland China. Jacky named the concert to commemorate having lived half a century. Yesterday, Jacky and his manager Florence Chan held a press conference in Beijing to officially announce that the Beijing leg of the tour will commence on January 21st through 23rd at the Wukesong Arena. [TN: Jacky’s World Tour concert will officially start on New Year’s Eve (12/31/10) in Shanghai].

Jacky indicated that next year, he will turn 50 years old and since 50 years is half a century, he decided to name his concert using this to commemorate his 50th birthday as well as the many years of beautiful memories he’s had in the music industry. Jacky expressed: “I will be 50 next year! When I was young, I looked down upon 50 year olds and felt that age was far away from me – now I regret using that type of attitude to view 50 year olds. I hope that today’s younger generation won’t look down upon people who are 50 – 60 years old.”

For his upcoming concert, Jacky expressed that he will be travelling to cities that he has never been to before – such as the city Ordos located in Inner Mongolia. Smiling, he states: “I’ve only heard of the city’s name while on an airplane, I’m not even sure which province it’s in! My geography is not very good, but I will make the effort to study about it to increase my knowledge of our mother country.” Jacky also indicated that he wants to hold a concert in his homeland of Tianjin so that he can see what types of changes the city has gone through these past couple years. Asked if he would ‘return the favor’ and ask Jay Chou to be a musical guest at his concert, Jacky said that he has not thought about a guest list yet.

Prior to the press conference, a Hangzhou worker from a company involved with the money-swindling situation several months ago appeared at the conference facility wearing a shirt with the words ‘Return Justice To Me’ on it. Earlier in the year, the company indicated that they had paid HKD$10 million deposit in the hopes of having Jacky perform 10 shows, however since the fraudulent situation was exposed, the company still has not received the remaining HKD$3 million that they are owed. Florence Chan made a special effort to clarify the situation again at the press conference, reiterating once again that both herself and Jacky have nothing to do with the situation and it was caused by a former employee who entered into an agreement with the company without her consent or authorization.

Cantonese album

Even though Ah Sa has been busy filming a TV series and movie in Mainland, she still remains extremely nervous for her new Cantonese album which releases on October 14 with a press conference on October 13. As soon as she had an opening in her schedule, she returned to Hong Kong to record the album, photograph the album cover and photoshoot and attend events. The four outfits in her album photoshoot are all 'old' clothing she has accumulated in her home. Through DIY (do-it-yourself), they have been assembled together to become beautiful unique clothing.

This time, the location for the photoshoot was an abandoned Cheung Sha Wan (poultry market in Hong Kong) slaughter house with collapsing walls and decaying roofs contrasting the charm of Ah Sa's majestic 'Ultimate Noblewoman' look. The message is that it is possible to find beauty in the worst circumstances. Despite looking like a princess, the location was in fact extremely vile. In order to create a special effect, staff had filled with slaughter house with smoke and mist. Stifling and smothered in the slaughter house for several hours, Ah Sa's skin developed an allergic reaction, but she tolerated it and continued working, only going to the doctor after finishing the photoshoot. Ah Sa laughed and expressed: "I hope that through this minor suffering, in the end there will be sweetness and the EP will be met with great sales and praise."

Rosy Business on ASTRO ON Demand (AOD)

ASTRO ON Demand (AOD) will be releasing the much-awaited follow-up to last year’s popular serial Rosy Business on Oct 18, simultaneously with Hongkong. No Regrets stars most of the original cast members such as Wayne Lai, Sheren Tang, Pierre Ngo, Elliot Ngok Wah, Susan Tse and Nancy Wu. Joining the line-up this year are Fala Chen and Raymond Wong.
Lai (who won the best male actor award for his role at TVB’s 43rd Anniversary Awards show), Chen and Ngo were in Kuala Lumpur recently on a promotional tour for the series.

The 32-episode serial takes place during World War II, approximately 100 years after the events of Rosy Business. It will take on a darker route with Tang playing a villain – the daughter of a gang kingpin – and Lai as the head of a criminal investigation team. Chen stars as his bed-ridden younger sister while Ngo portrays his timid teammate.

When asked if there is anything romantic between his character and that of Tang’s, Lai declined to elaborate. "It all depends on the individual," he said. "Each person’s perception of romance is different as feelings are something that are difficult to define."

As for whether he is under pressure to get the best male actor award again for this serial, he said he has never given such matters much thought. "I only do the best I can and give my full cooperation when it comes to promotions so as to allow viewers a chance to interact with the actors through the activities."

After William and I decided to open up our relationship, we are prepared to face all kinds of rumor and gossip already, so we won't care." As for the two bought a house unit to date more easily, Ah Sa said: "Won't reply to those rumors. I already accounted everything. Talked about William's ex-girlfriend Angelababy commented on Weibo, doubting they didn't date just 3 months? Ah Sa said peacefully: "Yesterday reporters asked me about it. I couldn't read it on Weibo. I asked William, and he doesn't believe Baby would do it. Someone close to her did it? I won't reply."

As for her dad didn't seem to know about her new relationship, Ah Sa said with a laugh that dad will definitely help his daughter and won't disclose too much to reporters. She said: "Dad helped us a lot, won't tell reporters about it. Our relationship is a small seedling. We don't have much time to see each other. Give us some time and room to grow. Let fate decides. We opened it up because we just want to date like regular people. (Regret opening it up?) I have some degree of pressure. I learned from the past. It's not that good not to open it up. So let's try to make it public this time."

In addition, Ah Sa & Angelababy's fans started a verbal war on Weibo, Ah Sa hopes they should calm down. As for whether she would feel embarrassed when she meets Angelababy, she said: "Don't known, shouldn't be. (Complicated relationship?) Today is the press event for my new CD. Just like my single, I hope everything is "Simple." I won't care what others think. Anyways, it's my happiness."

LADIES & GENTLEMEN WORLD TOUR CONCERT

Miriam Yeung's 5 show LADIES & GENTLEMEN WORLD TOUR CONCERT - HONG KONG STOP ended the night before. Besides Andy Hui and Alan Tam being her guests, when Miriam performed "Legend of Superwoman" in a white wedding dress, her husband Real Ting came out wearing a groom's tuxedo to duet with his wife Miriam. It was a very touching scene, which led loud cheers and screams throughout the venue. Real gave a kiss on Miriam's cheeks and then they mutually embraced, a very heartwarming and happy wedding.

Later, the couple left the stage together to change. When Miriam came back on stage with her new outfit, she said: "It was really frightening just now, he won't be singing again. Up until now, it had always been the media who introduced our love, but now stepping into another stage of life, I officially introduce Real to my family (referring to fans). My parents, family and my in-laws came all the way from Shanghai to HK Coliseum, many people really love us."

Food event "Tasty Angels"

Doesn't know how to cook, Kenneth Ma attended to a food event as guest along with "Tasty Angels" yesterday. The five had to perform catwalk and one of the angels almost fell, but fortunately it went well overall. Kenneth also tried to make dessert under the instructions from the cook. Female audience even fought to taste the final product. Kenneth said: "Knowing how to make dessert is actually very welcomed by girls. Really have to start learning it. Moses Chan knows how to make coffee!"

Talked about TVB might move its anniversary award ceremony early to prevent airing it the same day as ATV's Miss Asia, Kenneth believed there's no need to change dates: "No need to worry. This year's competition for TV king is quite intense. There's Moses, Wayne Lai. Heard Felix Wong from 'Gun Metal Grey' is good. Plus our female colleagues are very sexy, absolute no need to worry."

Lynn Xiong celebrated her 30th birthday

Lynn Xiong celebrated her 30th birthday last weekend on the set of Material Queen in Paris. She and costar Van Ness Wu were filming a breakup scene inside a police vehicle on the 9th. A local policeman played by an extra drove them to the front of a police station and told them to get out. Lynn Xiong was then greeted by over 50 people singing Happy Birthday to her. She was moved to tears and said, “I thought no one knows my birthday. You all love to act. I lost!”

Van Ness Wu gave her a dozen of white roses which he bought on the way to filming. He said he and Lynn Xiong passed by a flower shop several days ago. They both happened to like French white roses, so he especially bought them for her birthday. He “wished Lynn to be loved like a queen forever!” The crowd wanted them to kiss, but he excused himself saying it will be shown in the drama. In the end, the two celebrated by holding hands instead.

Lynn Xiong was asked if boyfriend Aaron Kwok has given her any birthday gifts, to which she answered, “Secret!” According to reports, he already held a birthday party for her before she left for Paris. The two were photograph together with friends at a hot pot restaurant in Hong Kong. Whether it is Aaron Kwok or the crew from Material Queen, Lynn Xiong is sure to have one very happy birthday.

Double J Relationship is part of history

The "Double J Relationship" is part of history now. Jay Chou is now busy with his career; yesterday he flew to Hollywood to participate in postproduction work for "The Green Hornet". According to reports he will be singing the theme song to the movie. He just held 8 nights in Hong Kong, he took time out to meet with his buddy Shawn Yue, the two both urged for a sequel to "Initial D". He smiled saying: "I hope we can film it the year after, lets film it before we get old."

Yesterday Jay Chou flew to America for work. According to reports since the beginning of the filming of "The Green Hornet", he has been fighting for the right to sing the theme song for the movie "The Green Hornet". He's planning to invite the director of "The Green Hornet" Michel Gondry to film the MV for the theme song he'll sing. At last it has been decided, to this Jay admitted: "I wanted to sing it from the start, it'll be best if it's the global version, but if it's the Asia version that's good too."

Yesterday a weekly magazine reported, after Jolin Tsai and a mixed male model Vivian started a "JV relationship", Jay has gotten depression. But according to the observations of his colleagues at the company, recently Jay has been full of work, they don't see anything wrong with his mental state. He was very high at the backstage of the concert, it was the birthday of a colleague, and he played and sang a Chinese and English version of Happy Birthday with a guitar. He also rearranged "Free Instructional Video" entertaining everyone.

This weekly magazine also stated, for his new show "Mr. J Channel", he originally planned to invite Jolin to be a guest for this season at the very end, but because of the exposure of her relationship with Jin Rong it has been cancelled. JVR are puzzled where this idea came from, because Jay once publicly said, "People who have been rumoured with me, I won't be inviting on, why blur the focus."

Artistic Gymnastics World Championships 2010

Arashi member Masaki Aiba (27) has been appointed as the official "navigator" for Fuji TV's coverage of the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships 2010, which is being held October 16-24 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. This will be his second year in a row as navigator.

Aiba will be in Rotterdam to cover the event in person. He has already started doing his research, as he visited a practice session of Japan's men's and women's teams last month. He also met with some of the top representatives, including Kohei Uchimura (21) and Koko Tsurumi (18). In the 2009 championships, Uchimura earned gold in the men's Individual all-around, while Tsurumi earned bronze in the women's Individual all-around.

Fuji TV will be broadcasting this year's final rounds on October 20-24.

Korean Alphabet Day

With October 9th being “Korean Alphabet Day,” representatives of the Korean music industry have brought to attention the increasing usage of English in songs.

Some examples of songs saturated with English include 2PM’s “Heartbeat”,”Again & Again”, and “Without U” 2NE1’s “Go Away” and “Can’t Nobody”; BoA’s “Hurricane Venus” and “Copy & Paste”; lastly, miss A’s “Bad Girl Good Girl” and “Breathe.”

English has almost become a lyrical necessity as well, with most choruses being penned entirely in English. Groups such as Super Junior, Brown Eyed Girls, Wonder Girls, SHINee, Big Bang, 2AM, KARA, U-KISS, T-ara, f(x), 4minute, B2ST, MBLAQ, Secret, SISTAR, RAINBOW, and others also use English names for their unit names. In comparison, there are fewer bands utilizing Korean names, such as SNSD, Daeguk Namah (The Boss), and Choshinsung (Supernova).

Representatives look at the situation as something that’s unavoidable given the globalized era that we’re in. The use of English also allows groups to leave a stronger impression on international fans.

One representative stated, “Society no longer cares about whether Korean is being used or not. English is used often in their day-to-day lives so there’s no feeling of unfamiliarity. It’s also a great way to reach out to international fans as well.”

Upcoming TV show "Mary is Out of Night"

Photographs from the set of the upcoming TV show "Mary is Out of Night" have been unveiled.

The show's promoter Ytree Media on Thursday released photos of the four main characters of "Mary" -- Moon Geun-young, Jang Keun-suk, Kim Jae-wook and Kim Hyo-jin -- filming scenes for the show on the streets of Hongdae University.

"I am happy and excited at the same time. I hope that this feeling lasts from the beginning of the drama until the end and the atmosphere during the filming was great," Jang was quoted as saying.

Moon, who will be playing Mary, said, "The ambience of Hongdae goes well with the show and I am excited for the filming to start."

"Mary," which has already been sold to Taiwan and China, is written by the famed writer of "Full House" and scenarist In Eun-ah from hit TV series "Full House."

It is a romantic comedy which revolves around Mary who makes realizations about love and herself while being in two fake marriages for 100 days to Moo Kyul (Jang) and Jung-in (Kim Jae-wook).

The new series will premiere on November 8 after current drama "SungKyunKwan Scandal" ends its run.

2NE1′s power first full album

2NE1′s power is everywhere with their first full album, To Anyone. On the 9th of last month, having released their first full album and performing the three different stages, calling it the “Triple Titles”, “Can’t Nobody”, “Go Away”, and “Clap Your Hands”, 2NE1′s popularity seemed like it doesn’t know when to stop.

Last year, 2NE1, who came to sudden prominence was being expected by all music fans called as the “female Big Bang”. It made us to think of them as Big Bang for they are both from YG Ent. and by their unique styles that were obviously different from the other idols.

It was a great way to promote the name for 2NE1′s popularity who was just a newbie back then, but there was the downside in that title. They received such criticisms like “they are copying Big Bang” or “now these girls follow the same paths as Big Bang because Big Bang is successful”.

But one year later, now 2NE1 has grown up and who can be no longer call the “female Big Bang”. 2NE1 is just 2NE1, who is receiving much love with their unique music style which can never be thought like ‘it’s a childish one just copying some other singers’.

Recently in the Korean music industry, the music charts are always changing for having so many different new number 1 songs. If a new song got released, it gets ranked all the way to No.1 starting from the Real Time charts, to the daily and weekly charts, then it changes all over again when another new song from a different artist releases theirs.

However 2NE1′s album has been released over a month ago and all the three title songs are still on the top ranks of all music sites. This great result by 2NE1 is catching the eyes by many for there are very many new songs released in this month of October.

In fact, 2NE1 has had some worries before they released their 1st full album. The biggest reason is that it is their 1st full album in this quickly changing music industry even though they are the newbies who just debuted last year, and if they don’t meet the fans’ expectations after being on hiatus for a very long time, the disappointment by the fans will be much bigger.

2NE1 proved to be fearless after being worried too much. With the new concept of the “triple titles”, 2NE1 swept all the music charts and even their three songs are fighting back and forth to be ranked in 1st to 3rd places. They also swept all the No.1′s at all the music TV ranking programs, thus receiving the prize for a total of 8 times by today.

This great love for 2NE1 from all the music fans is definitely resulted by their music and their unique styles. They didn’t make up their popularity by connecting with something else, but they are loved by their own music which can only be done by 2NE1.

Now, 2NE1 is just 2NE1, not the “female Big Bang”

Let’s Watch Meteor Shower Together

After its musical movie “Le Huo Nan Hai” and musical drama “Ugly Wudi 3,” Hunan TV is set to have its 3rd try at musicals. Last month, director Chen Mingzhang (Fated to Love You, My Lucky Star, Du Lala’s Promotions) revealed that in mid-October, he will be directing an adaptation of Hong Kong musical film “我和春天有个约会 I have a date with Spring” for Hunan TV.

So far, confirmed actors include Yu Haoming and Zhu Zixiao from the recent hit drama “Let’s Watch Meteor Shower Together” and Selina Ren of S.H.E. Selina plays the female lead, an innocent orphan singer. and Yu Haoming will to play the male lead Shen Jiahao (沈家豪), a saxophone player with big dreams. From his descriptions of the role, Zixiao will probably play second lead Donny, another musician who’s a playboy on the outside, but soft on the inside. The director said in his weibo that the main female lead is a Taiwanese actress. The drama will be set in the mid-30’s, around a group of singers and musicians in a night club.

Upcoming drama, “Material Queen”

Producer Chen Yu-Shan’s upcoming drama, “Material Queen”, was filming on location in Paris regardless of the recent bomb threats.

Early in the morning in the cool temperature of 10 degrees Celsius, Lynn Xiong wore a custom designed dress by Sex In The City stylist Patricia Field; She showed off her shoulders and long legs while walking on the Pont des Arts. Costar Van Ness Wu kept Lynn entertained by making silly poses for other tourists to snap pictures. The actress was full of smiles and laughter despite shivering under the cold weather.

The drama crew had prepared some hot packs for Lynn to put inside her dress, but she said, “I’m afraid it will make me look chubbier. It’s okay to shiver a bit, I have to look pretty even if it’s cold.”

Van Ness did not forget to update his micro blog. He wrote, “So tired! It’s already difficult to read the script in Chinese, and now there are French dialogues…so stressed. On top of the time difference, I haven’t been able to sleep for 48 hours. (I) guess I can only joke around to decrease my stress.”

Love you ten thousand years

Zai Zai Zhou Yumin’s movie "Love you ten thousand years" box office in Taiwan exceeded NTD10million, and he finally becomes a <10 million box office actor>. Zaizai who is now working in Mainland China thanked audience, and said: "I am really very happy."

Taiwan film "Love you ten thousand years" box office from August 6 to September 30 surpassed NTD 10 million in total Taiwan. Amidst many strong films, the movie continued to show hotly in cinemas for 55 days and created 10 million box office, mainly relying on good word-of-mouth by audience who have seen it, and proved the quality of film from producer Peggy Chiao, Zai Zai's touching performance and other overall entity success. Japanese Director Kitamura who has been in Taiwan for many years excitedly said: "I feel like a 98-year-old who still has a job with an annual salary of one million dollars ah."

Zaizai who is now filming “Home” drama in Shanghai, says thank you to audience’s support through his manager. In the film, Zai Zai played a rock band lead singer, wore tacky suits and enthusiastically performed a “making love” dance, all done with no effort at all, and even acted with a slight feminine taste. Zai Zai boldly makes new attempts, personally created new eye expressions and actions to increase the flavor of performance. Compared to his image in the idol dramas he acted in, it’s as if they are 2 different people, proving that Zaizai has chosen the right road.

“Meteor Garden" and "Black and White" made Zai Zai popular throughout the television circles, and if he “madly” accepts idol drama roles and acts in commercials, the money to be earned is endless. But Zai Zai takes into account making movie, he values the script and the director plus crew, and whether the roles are interesting and allows him "to experience a life he has never experienced before" in the film. Although “Love you ten thousand years" did not get him nominated for Golden Horse Award, Zai Zai did not mind because he has never acted so "youthful" before. Zai Zai enjoyed performing the role very much, and now he is even getting audience’s affirmation, making him feel that it is very worthwhile.

Tenth drama theme 'Goodbye'

Singer-songwriter Oda Kazumasa (63) will be releasing his tenth drama theme 'Goodbye' (Gubbai) for the TBS drama Juui Dolittle. The new song will be on sale November 17. It will be a year and nine months since his last single was released.

It has been almost twenty years since Oda's first drama theme song. Back in 1991, his hit song 'Love Story wa Totsuzen ni' was used for the Fuij TV drama Tokyo Love Story. In Juui Dolittle, the story centers on a talented veterinarian who treats both pets and their owners. Oguri Shun, Inoue Mao and Narimiya Hiroki star in the drama which starts October 17 at 9 p.m. Producer Setoguchi Katsuaki says, "We're grateful to Oda for reading the script and providing such a wonderful theme song that captures such clarity and depth."

Andy Lau Unforgettable Concert 2010

Yesterday, Andy held a promotional event for his upcoming concert (18 shows to take place from 12/20/10 to 01/06/11). Despite the many industry ‘heavyweights’ that he invited to participate in the promotional event, including singer Paula Tsui, actress/singer Deanie Ip, producer Lee Tim Sing, director Ann Hui., etc., the focus from the media was really on whether Andy would respond to his wife’s pregnancy rumors.

For yesterday’s event, Andy had invited Eric Tsang to be the host. Andy indicated that there was a special meaning to each guest that he invited and a few of them he viewed as his mentors.

Award-winning director Ann Hui was the first person who cast Andy as male lead in the movie . Ann revealed that originally, her first choice for the role was Chow Yun Fat, however in the end, she ended up casting Andy instead. Andy revealed that when he was filming intimate scenes with female lead Cora Miao, he was so nervous that his knees were shaking. Smiling, Andy indicated that his acting was very ‘stiff’ back then.

On the television front, Andy’s first series as male lead was TVB’s , which was produced by Lee Tim Sing. Producer Lee revealed that at first, when he saw how ‘stiff’ and unnatural Andy’s acting was, he had worried that perhaps he chose the wrong person to cast as the lead in the series. However Andy worked very hard to improve and ended up doing a great job in the series. He said that Andy went from being a ‘cow’ back then to being a ‘golden cow’ today.

A highlight of the event was when veteran singer Paula Tsui appeared on stage. She indicated that when Andy personally called her and invited her to come to the event, she immediately said yes. On stage, Paula also gave Andy the title .

Andy’s on-screen ‘mom’ Deanie Ip was the only one who dared to publicly announce on stage that she is patiently waiting for Andy to give her a ‘grand-child’, saying to him: “The most important thing is for you to continue to have good health and to love your wife – and also work hard to create a ‘grandchild’ for me!” In response, Andy – who does not like talking about his personal matters in public – smiled and said: “You are the only one who would dare to say it! Who else would even dare to talk about these things….?” Then, Andy immediately pretended to ‘send’ Deanie away, prompting host Eric Tsang to tease him, saying that any mention of ‘having children’ causes him to send people away.

As for details of his upcoming concert, Andy revealed that he has invited choreographers Payne and Stacy Walker to come all the way from the U.S. to choreograph dance moves for him (in the past, they have choreographed dance moves for Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Lady Gaga). In terms of guests, he says that he is planning to invite Idy Chan, Chow Yun Fat, as well as his Tiger buddies.

22nd Most Outstanding Dressed Awards Ceremony (第廿二屆傑出衣着人士頒獎典禮)

Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association held the 22nd Most Outstanding Dressed Awards Ceremony (第廿二屆傑出衣着人士頒獎典禮) . Last night, the ceremony was held in Shanghai, Leo Ku and Bernice Liu were among the Top 10 winners.

Bernice appeared in an all black Chinese style outfit and was quite attractive. With her good body figure, she is able to carry out many different types of fashion, and she feels very lucky. Asked if its because she has the figure that she is able to carry out sexy clothing? she said: "Well if have the clothes, then should have the body figure for it to work." As if she wants to get an award with Moses Chan? She generously complimented that Moses has good taste when it comes to clothing, she said: "He dresses pretty okay because he started off as a model. (Normally, do you two discuss what you know about fashion?) Usually it's me who asks him. (What part of his body figure is beautiful?) He changes really fast. For his height, he can carry out Western brands. (Does he look good in swimwear?) I haven't seen."

JYJ Worldwide Showcase in Seoul

As excitement grows for the first worldwide album showcase tour of TVXQ trio Xiah Junsu, Micky Yoochun and Youngwoong Jaejoong, now known as JYJ, Filipino fans want a piece of the action right here in the Philippines.

Filipino fans of TVXQ led by Cassiopeia Philippines have started a Facebook petition last Sept. 29 to convince potential promoters and even C-JeS Entertainment, JYJ’s Korean agency, to include Manila as one of the stops of the world tour.

Their aim--to gather in a week 5,000 fans that intend to attend the Manila showcase--has become a reality.

“We've been waiting for a long, long time guys and this is your chance to prove the power of International Cassies! We're negotiating with several people but we need at least 5,000 attendees to make this event happen,” the online petition said.

As of today, 5,107 fans have signed the petition with an additional 1,227 fans who said they may attend if the showcase is held here.

JYJ’s world showcase tour is aimed at promoting their first English and global album “The Beginning”, produced by top American artists Kanye West and Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, which will be launched on Oct. 12.
